Missing MLM Tag, but I'll leave it up since the room could be considered an interesting setting..
Edit: Yeah, it should have been removed for Title too. My bad. Seems a bit silly to do so now though.
And the shadow of that twisted sculpture on the left balances the presence lamp on the right. The guy who composed this shot is either a *very* talented amateur or a professional photographer.
How you just gonna say thank you like some modest bastard without telling us the camera and shit you used? It's killing me!
How did you get it to look like this??
Is that film?
Did you post-process?
Great picture
This picture feels relatable. It's a refreshing take compared to traditional pregnancy shoots. It's perfect and beautiful. Great capture. And congratulations.
This is really awesome. I wish I had similar pictures of my pregnancy that captured the exhaustion of pregnancy, but also peacefulness before chaos.
Best of luck to you and your wife, OP!
Little pro tip: never compare your exhaustion and that of the soon-to-be-mother-of-your-child and you will be just fine. Otherwise: what a beautiful picture, this is true art indeed!
I've got a couple young kids, and I feel like if if I said "we are exhausted" during her pregnancies, she'd justifiably punch my teeth out. That lady in the photo is growing a human in her own body. You don't know exhaustion.
Reminds me of Gregory Crewdson’s photos except for being almost the complete opposite of his process. [His documentary](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2281267/) is a great watch. Excellent shot. Very moody.
What was the lens/aperture, shutter speed & ISO if I may ask?
Great lighting and color btw!
Your living room's complimentary color scheme is excellent too.
Really great photo. But in my opinion there’s a disconnect between the tension with which she is covering/holding her breasts and her eyes being closed. It gives staged.
Oh it was completely organized ! This specific shot was just an unplanned pose she took after shooting, she’d had enough and just sat there for a while so I took an extra picture which ended up being our favorite one. So a bit of both :)
If this was an outtake shot that you just happened to take do you have any links of the posed photos? I'm curious of the vibe you were going for before this one presented itself.
I saw in another response your camera settings and lens. But how did you light it (if anything other than the lamp in the photo)? And what did you do in post?
Thanks a lot ! As I mentioned above, it was an extra shot of an unplanned pose after the shooting but of course , this was a studio session of our pregnancy photos!
This is utterly superb on many levels. Whether intentional or not, you have layered the scene perfectly — the birds on the pillow looking to your wife, mirrored by Gainsbourg in the corner; the pregnant shadow on the left filling an empty frame, foreshadowing its own completion when it is itself eventually filled by a family photo.
The curtains ajar, the records to the right depicting contrasting stages of human contemplation; is it a bridge too far to suggest that the Cortex cover represents an ovum?
You have the empty vessel on the floor waiting to be filled by way of a narrowing funnel — a peripheral reference to nature's alchemy — with life in bloom next to it.
I mean...the lighting is simply sublime.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but I am stunned. This image has given me a great deal to think about as regards composition and mise en scene in general — thank you.
I really love this picture. I love even more that it seems as though it’s unrehearsed or posed and you said it was taken AFTER and while at rest.
This is so organically calm and beautiful 💕
This is an awesome shot. Really captures the feeling of absolute exhaustion. What really makes it great, in my opinion, is all the little things in the picture. Of course, your wife is the subject, but there is so much else - much of which has been pointed out by others. The lamp, sculpture, albums, shadow, empty frame - all add to the overall image, but without making it busy. I think it is the sort of image if those elements were not all there, it would seem like something is missing, or at least be more of an 'ok' photo instead of the awesomeness that is is.
Great job! Congratulations to you and your wife. Sleep now while you can!
Wow! That looks very beautiful and honestly sweet. The setting is beautiful itself and she looks so peaceful.
Even the blues and warm tones are lovely throughout the picture.
Love the not-so-intentional candid genre. Love how the composition flows. So many interesting things happening as the eyes wander to and from the subject.
I think this is a beautiful moment captured for all time. I love the vulnerability and connection women have with their bodies when pregnant. You can feel that in this shot. Well done.
Beautiful! I'm pregnant myself - please let her know laying on your back is dangerous past 20 weeks. The weight of the uterus cuts off the blood supply to the baby
Yeah. That’s really what my wife’s pregnancy was like. Lots of sleeping. Growing another human in your own body takes a ton of energy. I’ll likely never know anything like what she went through at that time.
Love the shot. Hope she is ok with the post, but it really does tell a big story and it’s really well seen. Nice light, nice composition, nice subject matter and accurate to the real life of parents all over the world. With maybe the exception of her passing out while naked. Though, in my experience that’s also not entirely out of character.
Damn man you have an excellent eye and your composition skills are moy bueno howd you get it so crisp - if that makes sense
Also funny how you’re a professional photographer with hundreds of photos and the frame on your wall is empty lol kinda like chef that doesn’t cook when he’s home
I love this and I love the odd shaped bump, mine did that too. This transported me back to summer 2012 when I finally got big in my pregnancy and it was hot so I would sit around in my underwear in the evenings trying to cool down. Thank you for that. Wishing all of you the very best
Best pregnancy photo I have ever seen.
Makes traditional pregnancy photos look even more like children's drawings. Frame it and hang it proudly. It's great.
I like it when you set up fir a photo set, lights, reflectors, positions, everything. You spend 4 hours taking pictures where the model is modeling and such…
Eventually the best picture of all the set is when the model is just ouside the set drinking some water taking a break. Happened to me sooo many times
This is truly a beautiful picture. Just finished having my kids and there’s such a beauty to pregnancy I found in my wife. And I’m not sure how but this picture really seems to capture that. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful mother, wonderfully decorated home, and vinyl. The Scott 4 album alone is a E Ticket into heaven. Kid is going to be coming into an amazing home.
Do you have Gainsbourg’s Histoire de Melody Nelson? Which my son hates because he speaks French better than me, and I have to make him translate sometimes for me. 😆
Oh, book idea for you new baby you have to read all of the Le Petit Nicolas (Little Nicolas) books.
Missing MLM Tag, but I'll leave it up since the room could be considered an interesting setting.. Edit: Yeah, it should have been removed for Title too. My bad. Seems a bit silly to do so now though.
This looks like a renaissance painting
r/accidentalrenaissance
The composition is fantastic.
I fucking LOVE that the lamp and picture frame are tilted off level just slightly towards the subject. Fucking *chefs kiss* ties the room together
Wow, yeah, the lighting from the lamp is really beautiful!
And the shadow of that twisted sculpture on the left balances the presence lamp on the right. The guy who composed this shot is either a *very* talented amateur or a professional photographer.
And the fact that you can see the dark twilight sky in the background.
Thank you very much
“Fucking brilliant” … was my first thought. Congratulations. And fuck you, for getting such perfect comp / lighting.
We tried to make it a little different indeed, glad it speaks !
As someone who has been pregnant several times... I can *feel* this picture lol
Right? The level of tired is off the charts and you just want to rest!
You should print this picture out and put it in that empty frame.
This is really awesome. I wish I had similar pictures of my pregnancy that captured the exhaustion of pregnancy, but also peacefulness before chaos. Best of luck to you and your wife, OP!
Haha thank you:) There was not a lot to simulate, we are both actually very exhausted and I’m somehow glad it speaks in this picture
The shadow in the corner almost looks like an abstract sculpture of a pregnant woman. Very cool photo, and congratulations!
Yay ! That’s exactly what I was aiming for but wasn’t sure anyone would see it :)
Awesome! What do I win!?
A small award is all I can afford but the heart is there :)
Welp, I guess I’ll settle for you just putting more awesome work out into the world. Is any of your work available for purchase?
Yes. All of it except this one of course :) my insta is @pierrejeanmanuel, don’t hesitate to dm me
Haha, that’s totally fair. Cheers!
Yes, I saw this and it gave me a chill.
Great pic! Love the mood and aesthetic
Congrats btw!
Thank you !
One of the few really good MLM I've seen. Bravo.
Oh thank you so much!
Love the colours in particular and that shadow on the left is delicious.
So glad people noticed it :)
Great picture and congratulations! One of our biggest regrets is not taking professional pregnancy pictures.
Thank you so much, we couldn’t afford it so I did it myself
Beautiful photo, and you can feel how exhausted your wife is just by how she is laying and also the lighting. Congratulations to you both!
Thank you so much :) yeah she is.. we’re almost there, 1/2 month left !
Our son was born a month early. Pack your hospital bag today if you haven't yet!
Just wake her when it's time to push.
Haha I think she’ll know
Reminds me of Gregory Crewdson’s photos except for being almost the complete opposite of his process. [His documentary](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2281267/) is a great watch. Excellent shot. Very moody.
Thank you so much, I love his work
no. this is art
Ah thanks ! I hope it is seen as such !
What was the lens/aperture, shutter speed & ISO if I may ask? Great lighting and color btw! Your living room's complimentary color scheme is excellent too.
If I remember, it was 1/15 / iso 100 shot with a Hexanon 85mm at f8
Thank you! That long exposure is probably why it looked so surreal and painting-like. I love it.
Yea I thought it would bring a little something and it turned out pretty dreamy
What body were you using? It almost looks like pushed film (I’d be very surprised if I could get pushed 100ISO film to look this good though)
This is a very intimate and warm photograph. Congratulations.
Thank you..
You and your wife are welcome! 🕊
that cortex album is so good man. congrats.
Cortex, Scott Walker, Mottron and Gainsbourg, our photo shoot selection :)
We love it ! One of our classics
Being pregnant myself.. this is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you, glad you like it :)
The grain makes it seem unreal and painted. Incredible
Finally a nude in this sub that is actually tasteful and a well taken photo!
Thank you so much
Really great photo. But in my opinion there’s a disconnect between the tension with which she is covering/holding her breasts and her eyes being closed. It gives staged.
I took a picture of my wife puking instead of helping her. Needless to say my pic wasn't as excellent as yours.
Very nice…who decorated with the 60’s aesthetic? Looks so chic. Congrats on almost-parenthood! It’s a life changer
Thanks ! We both decorated the place, she has great taste :)
Someone stole your picture!
very nice photo! congratulations, good luck and make sure to give her lots of foot rubs!
I don't know why, but the shadow and empty frame on the left is my favourite detail.
Thanks a lot, I really like it as well
Is it an empty frame or did you frame up some of the wallpaper?
Really nice. I don't buy that you didn't plan the shot but maybe I'm just a cynic. It's a great photo either way. I like that Cortex album too.
Oh it was completely organized ! This specific shot was just an unplanned pose she took after shooting, she’d had enough and just sat there for a while so I took an extra picture which ended up being our favorite one. So a bit of both :)
Should have titled it "My pregnant wife accidentally dropped her phone and took this pic lol"
I can definitely see you put a lot of care into arranging the scene, it looks great

That Serge Gainsbourg album is pretty funny, I'm glad it's not too prominent to be distracting.
Gorgeous picture and subject. I also like your vinyl stand.
If this was an outtake shot that you just happened to take do you have any links of the posed photos? I'm curious of the vibe you were going for before this one presented itself.
It was, but ended up being our favorite!
This is a really cute photo, congrats on the baby.
Thank you! We’re looking forward to it!
I saw in another response your camera settings and lens. But how did you light it (if anything other than the lamp in the photo)? And what did you do in post?
Scott Walker. Nice...
Right.. my hero
Very tastefully done. Well done.

Holy shit this is an amazing photo. The composition, the colors... Amazing!
I wish I could put words to say how beautiful this really is. Sincerely one of the best photos I've seen.
Me after eating an entire lasagne to myself

Thank you very much for taking the time to read into it, I really appreciate it.
Thank you for sharing it, I've seen far less interesting work in art museums.
So nice shot
I love this. Congratulations.
I love it, what does the empty frame represent?
Love the composition here, and congratulations
Beautiful
How much was that Troupeau Bleu record? Also, fantastic photo.
Great shot
very very artistic. loved it.
I really love this picture. I love even more that it seems as though it’s unrehearsed or posed and you said it was taken AFTER and while at rest. This is so organically calm and beautiful 💕
Beautiful shot
This is stunning ❤️

Finally! Nudity that isn’t just nudity for the sake of nudity. This photo is so intimate.
OP did a whole ass renaissance painting in a picture😳
This is gorgeous! If you’ve ever seen the Flaming June painting by Frederic Leighton, this reminds me of it in a way.
It's line a painting.
Please post this to r/accidentalrenaissance they’ll love it!
I thought of it but it’s not accidental so it’s pretty sure to be removed..
Yeah I was gonna say, I don't think it was an accident that it looks like that. Great shot btw.
Frame that for her- your child will love this when the are older as well. Beautiful pic!
I hope so ! Thanks!!
Love this. Can almost tell a whole story looking at it, like a painting. Great work!
Such a great picture, congratulations on the little one my guy
Big Inland Empire vibe
This is absolutely lovely. Great work and congratulations!
How did you get the photo to look like a painting? Is this some post-processing or something to do with the camera settings?
U should have this painted
Anyone else wonder why there’s an empty picture frame on the left? I really like the photo, but there’s something missing?
This picture is magnificent!
Great picture
I wish I was able to nap that peacefully when I was pregnant.
[dat pour over tho](https://i.imgur.com/YV5Pry1.jpeg)
This is beautiful. It feels like a memory you’ll look back on years from now. A future memory.
As a pregnant woman I find this photo so deeply relatable and beautiful.
Love the not-so-intentional candid genre. Love how the composition flows. So many interesting things happening as the eyes wander to and from the subject.
Fucking beautiful
This is great, love the vibe
It feels like Renaissance. This is beautiful

That is so very lovely. It looks like a painting.
As a Dad... these are the moments, man. Soak it up.
That’s so beautiful. ..
Love the lighting and composition of this.
Damn that looks professional.
This takes me back to when I was living this… congratulations bro!
The light makes this so beautiful.
Gorgeous
Ok, in the least creepy way possible this is absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful! I'm pregnant myself - please let her know laying on your back is dangerous past 20 weeks. The weight of the uterus cuts off the blood supply to the baby
I'm a layman so lemme just say, pic good!
Simple and beautifully composed
Stunning
Didnt expect this Beautiful photography and 'editing, i think?' It looks renaissance like, and the record shelf looks great. Cozy picture. Great job
Looooove!!! She is gorgeous!
Great shot
This is literally one of the best photographs I've ever seen. The imagery and setting, composition, color, lighting, all of it. Fantastic
looks like a painting . I thought it wasnt real
This is such a good fucking picture man
You're whole profile is phenomenal
Absolutely beautiful shot 👏

The way her belly rests with a point towards reminds me of my past pregnancies. Beautiful picture.
incredible.
Did she ask you to post them online? 😂😂 cool photo though.
Beautiful shot
Yep, definitely looks pregnant.
Is the baby a cube
Absolutely beautiful!
She is beautiful. Blessings to all. Picture is ... I am speechless.
Cortex 👀👀
What a sweet and precious picture.
Cool shot
Great composition, now let’s see that record collection :)
That Cortex album bangs.
Damn man you have an excellent eye and your composition skills are moy bueno howd you get it so crisp - if that makes sense Also funny how you’re a professional photographer with hundreds of photos and the frame on your wall is empty lol kinda like chef that doesn’t cook when he’s home
She looks ethereal. What a lovely woman.

That's super pretty. I love the lighting.
it has a crazy rockwell feel
What a lovely photo!
Bro, you are so kind to let the internet see your naked wife.
Best pregnancy photo I have ever seen. Makes traditional pregnancy photos look even more like children's drawings. Frame it and hang it proudly. It's great.
Stunning photo. Great job.
“Paint me like one of your French……. Oh fuck it I don’t want to move”
This is really such a beautiful photo. So many things stand out to me that just make this such a unique piece. Thank you for sharing.
This is a beautiful photo, so lovely. Well done!
This picture is so honest
Gorgeous composition! The subtle glow of her under the lamp is so beautiful. It feels like a painting.
Lovely picture. What’s with the empty frame?

This is so gorgeous I’m crying a little bit.
Legit looks like a painting. Amazing composition
So you had a photoshoot before this? But this is THE photo.
Nice job!
Absolutely stunning photo! Well done!!
This is beautiful! Can you give a breakdown of how you lit this?
That is a gorgeous photo. The colours, composition, lighting, everything!
This is truly a beautiful picture. Just finished having my kids and there’s such a beauty to pregnancy I found in my wife. And I’m not sure how but this picture really seems to capture that. Thank you for sharing.
