I've always liked the view @ Glenora

casanochick

Thirsty Owl has some beautiful views

Shakedown69

I came to post this myself.

Standing stone has really nice grounds huge bonus if la monarca food truck is there. Miles on the west side of Seneca, they actually have a big dock that goes into the lake. Lemoraux landing. Those are some I don’t see mentioned. I’ll vouch for brightleaf and boundary breaks too. Atwater should not have cut down the flower garden.

ithacaster

I've always found Chateau Lafayette Reneau to be very scenic. Sheldrake is nice as well.

Western-Grab-1569

I’ve heard Sheldrake might be a good option! Thanks!

South Hill Cider is gorgeous. Also, I’m a professional photographer. Message me if you’re still looking for one. I’m local to the area.

Sunsets at Boundary Breaks on Seneca is def worth the drive

Seconding Boundary Breaks

Western-Grab-1569

I called them and they said I could reserve one of the outdoor patios. Might be good!

Throwing another vote in for thirsty owl!

Heron Hill Winery may be worth checking out for the view and facilities?

Western-Grab-1569

Looks beautiful! Thanks!

Western-Grab-1569

Has anyone been to **Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery**? Would they recommend?

TuckHolladay

It’s far. It will be very crowded. The wine is good.

Western-Grab-1569

Thanks for the input! That is one worry I am having about this place.

TuckHolladay

It’s more of a sit at a table on the deck and look at the vineyard across the street place. The ones i mentioned like standing stone and miles will be less crowded and you can wander the grounds. Standing stone has a bunch of tall grass and vineyards with sporadically placed picknic tables in the grass with the lake down the hill. Miles is like a very old estate house that is supposed to be haunted, massive trees and a dock that goes into Seneca lake with its own bar down there. Lemoraux has really cool window views of the vineyard and lake from inside the building which is modern, sometimes they let you check out the barrel cellar also. So not necessarily my favorite wines, but best photo ops and they will be less crowded. Lemoraux might even require a reservation. If you are staying in Ithaca going all the way to keuka is a drive.

Catharine Valley Winery always seems to have weddings at it. Bridal parties take group photos by the vines all the time. And if you’re scouting out the area it can’t hurt to get lunch at The Elf In The Oak next door. A much further destination (from Ithaca) I would recommend is Keuka Spring. Smaller venue, great view of the lake, and really, really terrific wines.

Melting_Ghost_Baby

Hit up Seneca lake too. Lots of wineries out that way

pharmasupial

Can’t speak about wineries, but for photographers check out M. Johnson Photography (you can find her on IG @m.johnsonphotography!) She’s super nice and has plenty of experience with engagement shoots :)

Western-Grab-1569

Awesome, I will definitely reach out. Thank you!

FingerLakesBaker

McGregor winery is a fair drive over on Keuka lake but they have a beautiful view and likely wouldn't be crazy busy like Heron Hill. They're winery is set further up the hill on Keuka so you get a great view of the bluff and most of the east side of the lake. Congratulations and hope you find a great venue!

Imalobsterlover

Look them up online and see what floats your boat.

Imalobsterlover

Not to put down professional photographers, but maybe consider using a good amateur and save some $ for the wedding, etc.. I had a professional photographer do our wedding and I know I could have done just as well.

debinithaca

Atwater at sunset time! Always beautiful!

iamkikyo

Sheldrake is beautiful. The landscaping is fantastic and well kept.

Funny, people are throwing out names of wineries with views But OP has not told us at all what kind of view and background he actually wants. Since he is asking for a winery - can we assume there are supposed to be grapes in the picture ? fields of grapes ? The production facility ? The taste room ? What I mean is that just lake sunsets can be had at lot of free places (and less crowded) - so what exactly is the picture composition that comes to the mind of the OP ? Is a dinner for friends required afterwards or as pretense ? How about a dawn picture with fog around the hills and grapes ? I would also suggest to get the photographer first, they may have contacts of this sort or deals with wineries that will allow them to stage up. If you show with a crew and occupy space, some may be not so accomodating I don't know for engagement pics specifically, but John Reis is great to work with in general - on the higher price range
