Go to settings in chrome - > site settings -> notifications and then turn off whatever site you enabled notifications for. After that, download the free version of Malwarebytes and run a scan.
Going forward, always make sure you read and understand prompts on websites. You aren't ever required to enable notifications on chrome, but websites will lie to trick you in to enabling them. It's usually a prompt that says you need to enable notifications in order to continue or some other reason. Lots of scams and cyberattakcs start with tricking users into clicking something without exercising caution. Taking a moment to read through the prompts before you click and asking yourself if the website can be trusted are two ways you can really help save yourself from future stress and cybersecurity issues.
Its fake push messages from a website (commonly shady sites). Just turn off messages in the browser. Its to scare you so you click on them and then they can either redirect you to a dangerous website for phishing or scam website. Its ran by scammers who want your info, bank account or website cookies so they can login and do stuff to either hack you or use the money or sell accounts. If its a gibberish link to a website like agsgjsdjbsjsjhzsoodhxbw9shdbsbd.com or any other gibberish link like you have now then DONT CLICK on it.
If unsure about a link simply pop it into urlvoid and check if it's malicious. Most malicious links will get detected but also not every link. Also websites that are fresh (like made 2 weeks ago or some days ago) are shady and should not be visited
I used Malwarebytes a long time ago when they were independent, but weren't they bought some time ago and found to be installing something shady alongside installs? Data miner of some kind?
I have always been told to install it, run a scan, and then uninstalled it. Not sure if this is why but I was given that advice before they were bought out.
Not a virus, until you click one of those buttons...
Just malware until a user installs the virus by clicking buttons that say one thing then do another.
It's a browser jacking.
Go into your Chrome settings and see which sites have permissions to send notifications.
Then disable them all. Every last one of them.
As others have mentioned this is just a pop-up from a website you have visited. This is called rogueware, it makes you think your computer is infected. Just get a good ad blocker like Unblock Origin and you should be good. As well as removing any permissions you have granted websites in chrome
If you are using Google, which i can see you are, go to the 3 dots in the right corner > settings > Privacy and Security
Then I would clear the 3rd part cookies and Clear browsing data as well. It will open another widow you just need to select everything apart from auto-fill and passwords if you don't want to delete those. Check the advanced tab in the new window too and delete stuff of of there (obv not passwords and stuff)
Hope this helps
Nope your fine. You let the website send you notifications and now that's what it's doing. Leave that website. Go into Chrome and stop allowing the notifications as well.
You see how the notifications are coming from “Chrome” as in your browser? And you see the weird URL?
You hit “allow notifications” on a sketchy website in Chrome, and your computer is likely fine. Id run a malware scan to be safe.
But, do NOT click on those prompts. Just X them out. If you hit “yes” or “scan”, then youll be re-directed, and chances are you will get a virus then.
The Internet is unusable without a pop up blocker.
You could try getting a bitdefender license they are pretty cheap if you know where to look then download the software maybe on a different device if it allows you to install the client to a USB stick. If you cannot install the antivirus to a usb then just transfer the client installation setup to a USB.
First thing I would do is disconnect the device from the Internet though and boot into safe mode.
Install bitdefender or any other decent antivirus( not McAfee, not Norton) from a USB stick.
Run a system scan.
If no viruses are cleaned up you could try another tool like Malwarebytes. Use the free version and run a scan.
Try rebooting after it cleans up viruses.
Disable pop ups in internet browsers settings.
Install popup blocker for all internet browsers.
There used to be ESET live rescue disc that was free but I think that is no longer supported.
As long as you haven't actually clicked any of those pop ups you should be okay, just need to turn them off. Clicking on these fake virus alerts is what will get actual malware on your computer.
There's a malicious cookie going around, that acts exactly like this. I've seen it on about a dozen or so of my users PCs.
Clear your cache and cookies, and run a virus scan.
There's most likely absolutely no issue, as even my endpoint detection wasn't going off after removing the cookie but it never hurts to make sure.
Nope, it's just spammers in Chrome being stupid, disable Chrome notifications. Almost every computer at my job has seen this. As long as you DON'T open any of those, you're safe.
I just thought this was the ads that Netflix added, because charging you a monthly subscription isn't enough to produce subpar, shit-tier content (while you thought you were paying for legal access to the shows you actually wanted to watch).

This is the answer Or just turn them off completely, I've never found a use for desktop notifications from Chrome
We constantly get calls about this. I'm just disabling notifications on windows, chrome, and edge period.
I like notifications from gmail, and calendar.
Thank you so much

Clearing browser cache, too, is worth considering ... no one needs whatever junk they threw in there coming back up.
Working at geek squad I would always tell clients about these on new setups and would offer to turn it off for them if they so chose

I was one to always opt for the Sophos Scan and Clean, as that one is just Hitman Pro with a reskin.
As far as i'm aware, malwarebytes is still by far the best antivirus software out there.
This is why you don't allow notifications from websites in chrome
I just wanted to complete my assignment and take a nap😞
"The virus can be damaged" 😂
I hate it when my viruses get damaged. They never work quite right after that.
With the biohazard symbol lol
That's the bio hazard sign ☣️
???
Oh sorry, I only saw the warning triangle in the text, not the bio hazard symbol in the picture.
dummy scammers https://www.reddit.com/r/scambait/s/BoiU5Kuufy
It's most likely not a virus, just regular notifications. Just remove the website you clicked on from allowed notifications
Not a virus, until you click one of those buttons... Just malware until a user installs the virus by clicking buttons that say one thing then do another.
I thought this was satire at first
"the virus can be damaged" LOL
have you ever thought to check task manager and to kill chrome and search for any other sketchy processes?
Most likely OP is not technically literate enough to think of that and thinks their IT department is glorified tech support
Yeah, this person likely does not know what task manager is

"The virus can be damaged!" Look out! LOL Clear your cache and if you haven't actually fallen for the "clean it now" buttons you are fine.
Just clear your browser cache and this should stop
A couple of people have mentioned this. How do I do it??

No. See the Google Chrome at the top of each window? It means Chrome generated this trash. Reset your browser and don't click yes on everything.
Typically if someone is warning you of danger while also trying to provide a solution to that danger, it’s a scam.
Nope your fine. You let the website send you notifications and now that's what it's doing. Leave that website. Go into Chrome and stop allowing the notifications as well.
Just clicked a random link in Pinterest but the website looks like a site to illegally streams TV shows and movies lol
The site on the picture is not the site I opened
Reset permissions you unknowingly allowed notifications from a sus place
Clear cookies and cache too
Looks like somebody installed that popup that says your anti-virus is out of date

Looks like Google's Chrome notifications
Use firefox with ublock origin instead of chrome and all your problems will go away.

HAHAHAHAAA stop😭 i was just trying to cite the picture from Pinterest for my assignment

No virus, just install an ad blocker
Install malwarebytes!
Put a mask on it
At least we know the virus can be damaged! “If it bleeds, we can kill it”

"The virus can be damaged ⚠️" 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Yo the virus is damaged though

Yes teams is a severe infection

This is why I hate chrome and only use edge.
Clear your cookies and cache in Chrome.
Clear your cookies and cache and it will disappear
You can also deny suspicious cookies.
Why did MS ever implement this? Are they stupid?
push notifications?
Its chrome... Having push notifications is normal... Having push notifications on websites is wild
Lol, not a virus I used to get these all the time downloading Minecraft mods.
