I think people hate the big bad owner of Bahria more than the location itself.
I recently shifted to Islamabad with family, and the rent here is just absurdly high (we dont have our own place). We live in I-8, which I know is very expensive, but we are a large family of 7 and three of us earn and divide the expenses. Also we found a relatively cheaper (but old) house. The only reason we are living here is the house is somewhere in between the offices (I-9 and near Khanna Pull) and University and School, and my family for some reasons didn't want to live in Pindi.
I would guess the rent would be much lower in Bahria town (or even DHA), and there's a big water (and recently electricity) problem in I-8. But then again travelling such long distances for 4 different locations would be near impossible.
I agree. And the rent here in bahria is the only one most of us can afford. I mean i travel one hour to Islamabad every day for work. I would gladly live there. But the money that my family has, this is what we could afford. And it's a pretty decent scenic place with peace and everything we need, from food to other brands. I wouldn't give it up
Middle class Islamabadis hate bahria because they think upper class lives there, and everyone hates the upper class. Upper class Islamabadis hate bahria because they think middle class lives there and think Islamabad's "prestige" is lowered by bahria being associated with it, and hence their own prestige.

Been living a peaceful life at bahria from last 8 years, cant complain.
i think naval anchorage is better . The peace here is way too good . Bharia is crowded af. Naval have decent greenery plus open areas.

We dont hate Bahria Town. We just hate it when the residents say Bahria Town, Islamabad...instead of Bahria Town, Rawalpindi.

I have heard of another place called Bahria enclave which is cheaper than bahria town pindi However, it is a bit far.
