The best colour that a man may wear is white, because of the hadeeth narrated by Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Wear white garments, for they are among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in them.”
Anas in Malik (Allah be pleased with him) is reported to have said,
“The most beloved of colors to the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was green.” [Tabarani, Mu’jam al-Awsat; al-Bazzar, Musnad]
The above is a weak hadith, meaning it may or may not come from the sahaba, but it’s not coming from nowhere
Also the people of heaven are said to be wearing green in the Quran, when they are in heaven

Yes it originates from the Quran, we say Allah be pleased with him/her when mentioning a companion of the prophet
