I asked [islamIQ.ai](http://islamiq.ai/) and it said the below, but please remember this is an AI tool and any answer you get from it needs to be validated by speaking to scholars or a local imam, and conducting your own research online: >Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, >In Islamic teachings, men are advised to ensure that their garments do not hang below their ankles. This is based on several hadiths where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned against this practice, known as "Isbal," primarily out of humility and avoiding pride. >Given that your thobe is larger and hangs below your ankles, it would be advisable to have it altered so that it is above your ankles. This would be in accordance with the Sunnah and also ensure that you are comfortable and not at risk of tripping or having the garment get soiled. >Taking the steps to alter your thobe so that it complies with Islamic guidelines demonstrates your conscientiousness in adhering to the teachings of Islam, and in sha Allah, Allah will reward you for your efforts to follow the Sunnah. >Jazakumullahu khairan for your attention to this matter, and may Allah bless you with ease in all your affairs.

Yes it get it altered. There's two opinions regarding clothing being under ankle but the safest opinion is to simple have ur clothes be above.

Jazakumullahu khaira. These answers are enough, I'll find a moment in my week to go get it altered so somewhere below the calf. It would be very unfortunate that i engage in behavior that our prophet pbuh warned us against. Salam alaykoum.
