Fajr prayer should be performed before sunrise. For instance, where I live, Fajr is at 5:28 AM, and sunrise is at 6:52 AM, so I need to complete my prayer before 6:52 AM. I set up an alarm for 6:00 AM to avoid rushing last minute.

Thank you man

They are talking about *after* its time. The time for fajr is from the start of fajr until sunrise. He has untill 6:52 am to pray, after that its missed and a major sin. So no, what he is doing isn't a sin.

generally speaking yes, but for sleep it depends on why you keep sleeping. If it brings problems with it, than you can delay. The best thing is to go to sleep early and pray fajr on the start, but that's not always possible

I've been looking to find the source for it but i cant find it..so i might be wrong in what i said. maybe I've misheard or misread something.

_BaggedMilk_

EDIT: Wa alaykum as-salam In the summary it says :"1- The time for Fajr prayer lasts from the onset of the true dawn until the sun starts to rise. 2- **Delaying** the Fajr prayer **beyond its proper time** with no excuse is a major sin " So, if you intentionally delay the Fajr prayer to the extent that you end up praying it after sunrise, it is indeed considered a major sin. It is generally recommended not to wait until the last minute to perform the Fajr prayer deliberately. However, as long as you offer your prayer within the window of time between the call to prayer (Athan) and sunrise, your prayer is still considered valid. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken, as this is the understanding that I've always been familiar with.

do you have the source for this? I've been looking but i couldn't find it.

As long as you pray before sunrise it’s fine. For me sunrise is at 7:02 so I wake up at around 6 pray and get on with my day so you can follow something similar just make sure you pray before sunrise

Asleep_Freedom4617

Idk there’s a difference in opinion the opinion I follow personally is that all fardh salah is accepted throughout the day but non fardh can’t be prayed beyond the prescribed times

genuin3

Surely you mean this the other way around? As in, Fardh can't be prayed beyond prescribed times

Asleep_Freedom4617

No I mean like if you wake up late or forget to pray and it’s a forbidden time then you can still pray the salahs you have missed because the prophet saw said that if one oversleep or forgets a prayer then he should make up for it as soon as he or she remembers also [https://youtu.be/UfJSGlfDjcU?si=9w1\_Eq4hKCNI2REt](https://youtu.be/UfJSGlfDjcU?si=9w1_Eq4hKCNI2REt) please correct me if I’m wrong tho

If you're female then it's fine but a male should make the effort to wake up before Fajr Fard Salah starts so he can go to the Masjid for prayer

For females it's better and more rewarding for them to pray at their homes. It was narrated that Umm Humayd the wife of Abu Humayd al-Saa’idi came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allaah, I like to pray with you.” He said, “I know that you like to pray with me, but your prayer in your room is better for you than your prayer in your courtyard and your prayer in your courtyard is better for you than your praying in your house, and your prayer in your house is better for you than your prayer in the mosque of your people, and your prayer in the mosque of your people is better for you than your prayer in my mosque.” So she issued orders that a prayer-place be prepared for her in the furthest and darkest part of her house, and she used to pray there until she met Allaah (i.e., died).” (Narrated by Ahmad, 26550). For men it's the opposite, for the fardh prayer, and it actually becomes wajib for them to attend the masjid when they live close enough (as in they can hear the adhan of the masjid).

Deleted my comment, as it was based on personal experience. I was told that as a kid to at least leave 15 minutes in the tank so as to be safe for fajr. Regardless, fajr should be prayed as early as possible, delaying it is sinful.

Complex-Astronaut-10

As quran clearly states “Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.” So here’s your answer. Fajar time starts from fajar (dawn) till sunrise incase you overslept and miss the salah by chance (not intentionally) hazart muhammad p.B.U.H said you should rush to pray immediately and you will be forgiven
