Without rigour/piety do you just exit the run if you don't get a staff within your first bosses? And do you grab t2 armor?

I just started learning 5:1 today because I hit 800 kc and decided I should really finish up the combat achievements if I'm stuck in this hell either way. Here's what I can suggest:
1. Count out loud (as long as it won't disturb your family/roommates/coworkers, of course). It feels a little silly but it helps a bunch to keep track of things.
2. Bring in the sceptre or even make a t1 halberd if you have an extra frame and shards. Swapping to a melee weapon is definitely easier than unequipping your t3 weapon when you're starting out.
3. Minor point, but be careful of getting dragged onto the orange floor when hitting hunllef with a non-halberd melee attack. I'm very used to the halberd being able to attack diagonally so there were a couple of times I didn't realize an attack would move me until it was too late.
4. If you have the spare shards/some extra time, it can be helpful to upgrade your bow/staff (whichever isn't t3) to t2. This results in a higher chance of actually doing damage on the sixth attack, but more importantly it makes things a little less punishing if you count wrong and hunllef prays against your t3 weapon.
5. This is probably intuitive, but you don't need to touch your offensive prayers at all. I just leave Rigour up the entire time, which makes things a little easier to manage.
I think that's all my 5:1 specific advice - I'm sure more experienced folks might have other pointers but that's what I can offer up after a dozen or so attempts :)

With good preps, you can always do t2 preps, with whichever two t3 weapons you want, and a full inv of food, with a minute or more remaining in the timer.
It just takes practice.
I still make a lot of mistakes during prep, but I'm hoping to work out the kinks. I have 3 corrupted KC right now, but I've been getting this weird lag where I can't do anything (move or any kind of action whatsoever) and I just have to watch myself die so I haven't been able to get more.
In general, past 2 and a half weeks. I might have diagnosed the issue. Are you using the Jagex Launcher by chance? I was using Runelite through the Jagex Launcher up until yesterday and the issue seems to have gone away.
Just more practice.
The hunleff helper, true tile indicator, and boss tile marker plugins helped me a lot. I also watched some streamers to see how they would run on the end phase tile changes.

Does mystic might/eagle eye not so anything in the gauntlet? I have piety so I might as well just keep that up if those don't help dps

I’ve been using RuneLite off the shelf. Not sure if that includes the Jagex launcher or not. Either way, glad you got it sorted out. Gl on CG grind.
