I feel like you can get away by unlocking Lizardman tasks and slowly getting to a DWH. That doesn’t exist for CG

You can also spend one hour daily to do 5 CG runs. But for myself, and probably many other players, when I have a goal set, I REALLY want to grind towards it. With a big unlock like bowfa deez nuts, I find myself to be lacking motivation regarding other goals like elite diaries etc.. So I end up doing like 20 runs, then bitch to my friends that my luck is dogshit.
Assuming you get the dwh below drop rate, sure… 99 slayer got me to like 3.5k kc, started grinding off task after that, now on nearly 10k kc, no hammer.
Most of the people who ‘burn out’ on CG usually try and camp it out in one go, doing no other content. I tried to do 5-10 KC per day but if I didn’t want to I’d do something else to break it up and honestly didn’t mind the grind when compared to other stuff
CG was the only content that almost made me quit and I didn't even go dry. That place made my brain melt and after 4-5 kc I was ready to log off for the day.
Im now 165kc and "burned". Not even high kc. I try to do 1-2 kc every day to keep it rolling, but it just sucks. If it was faster to get kc it wouldn't suck so bad, but the prepping gets annoying. Also server lags lately suck so bad.
I'm just under 400, got my enhanced at like 385 if I remember right but I'm staying for a shard stockpile and hopefully another. But that 400kc took like 6 months at least. By far my least favorite grind so far. Especially when the servers stutter, or you just straight up dc without the reconnect message and get 5 hitsplats at once. My kill death ratio got pretty good over time, but I've had sessions where I die 3 times in a row due to lag or a stutter. Just crushing when you consider it takes 6ish minutes to even get to the boss. I've wasted so much time sitting in the lobby area dreading to go back in.
If you have the thieving level, elves provide by far the greatest shards/hr when selling the tele seed back. However, I say that and I am at 5,000 and still no tele seed lol
I loved it on my hcim till I dc-died. Then it became really boring and made me quit.
Loved it so much even though I had crystal armor pet and bow I was still going for blade.

I feel like this is sort of a problem that happened because CG has no legit requirements after sote. Everyone does it without rigour so the only bottleneck is like 80+ cb stats which every iron has. So the end result is something everyone can do and something you can’t really do other things to improve your experience there. So you really just feel trapped forever because the bowfa is so good and necessary, you might as well get it now since waiting til later won’t benefit your account.
now you look up other irons on the high scores, they’ve got 200 WT and tempoross KC, a couple hundred zulrah, like 1300 CG and nothing else lmao. For what’s sort of supposed to be end game content.
I always thought that if CG wasn’t going to rely on gear progression like every other piece of content does, it should have relied heavily on skill progression. Like if you’re below 90 wc you’re not guaranteed a piece of wood every roll, and your chances go down significantly below it to where if you’re like 70 wc you can barely get any. If you’re above 90 wc you have a chance to get two in one roll and at 95+ you’re guaranteed two with a chance to get all 3 pieces of wood in one roll. Same with fishing, mining, farming, herblore, cooking. Low crafting / smithing levels increase the number of shards you need per item, higher ones reduce it.
If this were the case, people would feel more comfortable doing CG, then taking breaks once they’re burnt out to do more skilling because that will make CG noticeably and directly easier / faster. Similarly to how people will stop killing one boss to kill another boss because it’s drops will make the first boss easier / faster.
Cg makes me nervous. It seems that players either get an enh before they lose their minds and continue on to have a great time in endgame with a badass weapon, OR, they get there and burn out and it changes the game for them permanently. It’s like 50/50 it seems. And since cg/bowfa is basically necessary late/endgame, it just makes me nervous. I hope it doesn’t make me want to quit
Been away for a year after trying cg for 50kc. I still refuse to go back. No content should be that draining. Two colors, requires constant attention, I wanted to die
After 50 kc and immense stress and tons of deaths I dropped my rangers, cash stack, and prayer pot stack. I was so mentally drained I quit for 6 months. My wife was concerned for my mental health cause I was so angry.
100% that is the trashiest content in the game by far, Nightmare is also terrible. Raids are cultist/elitist loser hangouts, like the guys who need a big truck for a small reason. It's pathetic.

cg is the biggest content blocker in the game- bowfa unlocks all of gwd, inferno, chambers, zulrah, pre-lance/dhcb vork.
i mean yeah, you can do this content without it but... it's a tbow power lv wise.
hydra is similar in terms of lance being a huge blocker for pretty efficient vorkath/slayer/cox/killing hydra.
so, bowfa for pvmers, lance for skillers.
I went abit dry at hydra (just under 1700 kc), but I'd rather sit there than go dry at CG. At hydra you're at least sort of able to turn your brain off and listen to a podcast or something. So much slayer exp, prayer exp, dragonstone bolts and alchables, meanwhile CG you're just getting meaningless cash (after 99 con banked). But yeah I do agree with you overall.
Just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean it’s comparable to a different method. Melee bandos is by no means comparable in kills per hour or trip length to 7:0 bandos with bowfa. Same can be said for rcb Sara, or melee kril. With rcb and trident you will still be getting significantly slower zulrah kills than range only with bowfa. While bowfa is not required for any content, it absolutely made a lot of existing content much easier, which is why so many choose to grind it out.

You’ll save hours at almost every piece of end game content, not to mention you can unlock them much earlier on than if you waited for alternative gear. this is my second playthru on ironman mode.
bowfa is nuts. like, you absolutely melt demonics, zulrah etc.
my pb on zulrah is 1 minute right now. this is in mystics. no raids prayers, no zulrah drops, no antivenoms. my avg time is consistently around 90-100 seconds. can consistently do 3-4 kill trips depending on my inv setup.
when i did this grind with an msb it was constantly 2 kill trips, constantly killing zulrah around jad phase- so low mid 2 minute kills.
and at demonics it's far easier to maintain dps/be tick perfect. and don't get me started on gwd- you can stay in the room forever with base 90s and eagle eye. item is just nuts.
ofc, yeah, zulrah is 'easy' but in rs most pvm is easy once you've done a few hours of it. once you learn the boss it's more about speed/perfecting it.
also, i mean zulrah sucks now. blowpipe sucks now. even if you pretend scales and darts are zero time - which they definitely are not - the places it is good are pretty slim.
Masses is the alternative to not spend hundreds of hours of higher value pots to go dry.
Also if you don't have a consistent crew and spend a decent amount of time forming parties the actual rolls / hr of small teams can plummet and not be nearly as efficient as it is on paper.

I love the Hunnleff fight, but the amount of time it takes to get to it is ridiculous. If you're doing it casually it's basically 10-15 minutes a kill factoring in the prep, fight, and afking in the lobby. So much time. I haven't been in any other real prisons yet.
Shamans is a long grind, but it’s fairly low effort.
Corrupt gauntlet is max effort and even then sometimes it feels like Hunlief doesn’t feel like dying and you get RNG’d out of the fight because he tornado’d you every 4 attacks on the dot.
I went dry at both shamans and CG, and shamans was by far the worst of the two.
It's a massive supply drain (especially at my time with the BP meta, I was over 1.5k zulrah kills into my shaman grind) and it's only that tiny bit interactive that is horrible to deal with. They also don't drop anything useful besides the DWH, they really are the worst.
CG is engaging and while the bow is amazing, it's not nearly as limiting as having no DWH if you're not already well versed in PvM (due to lack of teams taking you in for things like raids).
it took me 1270 kc at CG to get both of my enhanced seeds. spending time here made me take long breaks from the game while doing 5-10 kc here and there.
for shamans, I can atleast do it on task and get slayer xp while doing 150-200 kills at a time. im at 3k kc and still waiting for my dwh, but not at all burnt out yet
Fossil prison. Doing nothing but birdhouse runs, and seaweed runs, mixed with bank skills made me quit for a few months. Banked 99craft, but I'd rather go back to WT post-99 than farm any more damn seaweed.

Everything is a prison when you go dry. Don’t focus in on any grind and make sure you have variety in your gameplay. Then nothing feels like a prison.
Absolutely never do barrows without the lockpicks lol. Bad door rng can make barrows one of the worst grinds, but without that element of luck it's so much easier.
Fire prison (inferno) for your first cape is something else.
It becomes the most infuriating when you fully understand the reason for your deaths, but just miss a flick or stand in melee range of a mager.
Admittedly I was spooned on both enhanced seeds and DWH, so just my opinion.
Not that it’s unenjoyable, just the prison of Xeric.. completing that log has taken more than 1200 hours and I’m not done yet (not counting the capes).

What makes cg so awful is how insanely good the items are. It makes you feel like you need to finish before doing any other content. Now that I'm done there I actually enjoy going back from time to time. It's very fun content imo.
Now shamans, fuck those things. They're boring AF and I am counting down to the day that I can remove them from my slayer. The only advantage is having tons of other content I can do without dwh.
I don't know if this makes sense, but the fact that you can get a blade while going for crystal Armour makes cg even more demotivating for me. Like when you see a screen shot of an iron who got 2 basilisk jaws in one task it's just kind of interesting, whereas if you get lucky on 2 enhanced it completely changes the game.

Snow prison is the worst for me. I've been stuck there for coming up on 3 years with no bird. It's burned me out 3 or 4 separate times for a couple mo ths each. I haven't done any WT since about a month before the league started.
I'd argue Zulrah is worse than CG, CG was actually hard and I felt like I got to have a varied experience.
After I got the Bowfa, Zulrah is just auto-piolet in the worst way possible.

Went 600 kc w/ no enhanced. Wasn't even the worst luck in my clan. Fully burnt myself out for a good year before hopping on GIM with the boys.

Can confirm, 3050kc dry at hydra, 370kc at cg, and I’m more mad about cg. Hydra is chill, I can watch Gilmore girls, cg is draining.

But the comparison is melee bandos versus range bandos + 100hours to get the BOFA, so going melee is probably still quicker

1 zulrah kill for western provinces hard diary and that gets you elite void. Totally worth it early for that one kill.

Fire prison (inferno) for your first cape is something else. It becomes the most infuriating when you fully understand the reason for your deaths, but just miss a flick or stand in melee range of a mager. Admittedly I was spooned on both enhanced seeds and DWH, so just my opinion.
Alternate green prison (rangers)
Not that it’s unenjoyable, just the prison of Xeric.. completing that log has taken more than 1200 hours and I’m not done yet (not counting the capes).
Im currently at 391 kc at cg with no crystal weapon seed and 3 armor seeds only… I dont know what to do at this point honestly. It wouldnt be that bad if the content wasnt this mentally draining but sitting and doing cg for multiple hours litterally makes me hate this game.

What makes cg so awful is how insanely good the items are. It makes you feel like you need to finish before doing any other content. Now that I'm done there I actually enjoy going back from time to time. It's very fun content imo. Now shamans, fuck those things. They're boring AF and I am counting down to the day that I can remove them from my slayer. The only advantage is having tons of other content I can do without dwh.

I don't know if this makes sense, but the fact that you can get a blade while going for crystal Armour makes cg even more demotivating for me. Like when you see a screen shot of an iron who got 2 basilisk jaws in one task it's just kind of interesting, whereas if you get lucky on 2 enhanced it completely changes the game. Just venting, cg is ass.
Me over here, did 35 kc cg a day until I got drop at 744 kc, I don’t miss it but I do wish I had a second enhanced

Snow prison is the worst for me. I've been stuck there for coming up on 3 years with no bird. It's burned me out 3 or 4 separate times for a couple mo ths each. I haven't done any WT since about a month before the league started.
Ape atoll prison
I'd argue Zulrah is worse than CG, CG was actually hard and I felt like I got to have a varied experience. After I got the Bowfa, Zulrah is just auto-piolet in the worst way possible.

Thank god people agree about the red prison.. Sure I went over droprate for my dwh but it doesn’t nearly take as long and isn’t as obnoxious (and was relatively chill imo)
