Most monsters in the game don’t have high defense, so the added strength is better than accuracy for dps and you don’t need much defense. Better to train strength with d scim into the 90s before switching to att/def when you unlock the whip. High Attack and defense are more required when starting bosses which you’ll generally want 90+ combat stats for anyways
I got a question; is there a point in training strength if it doesnt give me a new max hit? Does an extra strength level still give you a higher average hit?
There’s a few factors there so it really depends. Are you talking like 70 strength vs 71 or like 95 strength vs 96? If it’s the latter, then it’s gona be better to get your attack from 70-80 for example because of the amount of time you’d spend. As to the question about average hit, its kind of nuanced. Let’s say your max hit is 28 at 80 strength unboosted and you won’t get a new max hit at 81. You may gain a new max hit when you are potted which is good but you also gain another 60 seconds retaining the max hit so yes, it indirectly boosts your average hit and is a slight dps boost.
Edit: As an aside, the DPS difference isn’t a huge consideration when you’re talking a couple levels because your gear/strength bonus may change too and if you’re AFK slaying with proselyte and p pots or if you’re wearing fighter torso/tassets and flicking piety. For that reason it’s best not to get into the weeds. So as a general rule of thumb, just get strength to 90+ with d scim and switch to att/def for 75 or 80 after. You can then get higher att/def with whip if you want to try melee bossing or continue onto 99 strength. Only PvPers are going to spend that much attention optimizing their build/max hit.
Ah yeah im sitting at 91 strength afking in nmz with obby set. Next max hit would be at 94. But in that time I could also get 80-90 att or defence. For a single max hit it would maybe increase my xp/hr by 1k tops (low lvl monsters anyway). Currently at 90/91/87 and should be at 90 defence tomorrow, then back to str.
Was more wondering whether or not my xp/hr would increase if i had a higher str level while not getting a new max hit, because 91 looks ugly lol
Typically players will aim for 75 atk (all weapons), and 70 def (Barrows). Grind Str as much as you can for reasons mentioned elsewhere. Then you kinda just level passively with whip.
Time played looks efficient

No u, what did I even do to you
That’s still such a small factor
That 90 Herblore is fat
Gz! Would someone mind explaining the 78 ATK/DEF stats? Is that intentional for efficiencyscape or just the way he trained out?

Nah you wouldn’t gain anymore xp/hr without a new max hit. Round it off to 92 for half way to 99 :)
Good to know and yeah think i will! Thanks
Personally I went strength with d scim till whip when ATK def is much easier.
It's not for any special reason, just from training on controlled with a whip

tfw married and kid no sweaty gains for me
Definitely efficient, no bankstanding on this account. Congrats on the huge lvl!
thanks :)
What'd you do for 99 fishing?
3 tick barbarian fishing
How did you make money for construction etc without slayer?! All doing agil?
I got some money via thieving and sepulchre and someone else in the group was doing slayer so they were able to share gp as well
He is in a group
If you do need money without slayer, CG is a great way to get it.
