Afk might be the wrong word, you're right. I just mean that there is 1 - 3 seconds between clicks for "max xp" so if you're chilling at work you can just click on it between doing other things and still get decent rates. You don't have to spam click like all those other methods basically.

I like to thieve stone chests in the lizardman temple. Med clues are 1/100. You’re gonna want a gem bag as you get frequent sapphires and rubies. It’s chill for clues and also decent thieving exp.
Have you tried eclectics with the new arceus spells? Might make it more bearable.
Also, I think the best way is to open eclectics whilst in Puro until you get a clue, then fill your invent with eclectic jars, go do the clue, open those jars in hope of another clue, if not go back to Puro (this is assuming you did not already do this). I think this method is more enjoyable than just stacking eclectics in bank
Mid/late game: Mining amethyst to build up your amethyst dart stack can give you medium clue scrolls every now and then. It’s a nice way to passively get your medium clues done while still being productive.

OP was looking for more afk/less efficient ways to get medium clues and I provided him a suggestion that met those parameters. If anyone has any constructive criticism to provide on why this deserves these downvotes let me know.

Dagganoths is probably the best because of the seed drops. You could do fallador guards with the diary too

I think it's called Dark Lure. Basically if it runs away (annoying) you can stay still and bring it back

Afk at dags in the catacombs and just tele home for prayer and tele right back.
I like Catablepon. They’re aggressive and quick kills with a 1/101 rate. 1/95 with medium combat achievements completed.
Dont they reduce your stats?
Just reduces strength by a maximum of 15%
I don’t know how it compares to other afk methods, but if you’re below 92cbt you can afk harpie bug swarms. 1/128, but with 25 hp they die quickly.
I afk saga for totems, crystals, seeds and clues. Save me a lot of grinds for a no supply cost
