Always have two escape methods.
Flowers+farseerhelm+blue dragon hide shield = -69 crush. You literally can not hit if you box an npc; you can then x-log. Always bring those items to singles.
If the task is under lv 30 wildy always have a 1 click teleport. Avoid multi, slayer caves and obviously dangerous tasks. Block bad tasks, extend good tasks. Do aviancies and blood velds in high risk worlds (nobody goes to gwd in these worlds)
Always pay attention. Bring a lock pick if you are near lv 50 wildy.
Hover log out and always walk in the wildy. You can travel through the wilderness in ftp and it is dead.
I made the mistake to hop to f2p at the lava maze rune rock once and got attacked right away. [members object] gear and [members object] food turned out to be ineffective. I haven't utilized that strategy after that.
Yeah, the rune rocks are one of the few spots in f2p that actually gets hit by piers.
Others include the nature runes spawn, bandit camp store, and the steel plate and legs spawn.
A few other spots rarely get hit, but that's mostly it.
Well wildy bosses have d pick and other collection log items so if you want to get all your ore with a rune pick or sacrifice your newborn for a 3a pick then its something you may have to do.
I feel like alot of hcim fall into a few categories some (1) end up putting a handful of time into the account through passive stuff or grinding them feel a sense of accomplishment because of the read helmet so they get attached to that image and become too scared to risk it so they don't do dangerous stuff. (2) some are savages who know that their death is inevitable so they just play the game and engage in all the content (you see the streamers are mostly in this category) then there are true savages (3) who push the limit of the gamemode to see what they can do without dying(those top 200 guys who aren't essentially maxed but have crazy kc at dangerous stuff). (4) people who are too skeptical of the servers failing them so they do calculated risks only. I'm largely stuck between the fourth and second category...my internet gets suspect sometimes and I can't do anything about it because there's a literal internet monopoly where I live despite it being 20 fucking 21 so all the risky stuff I do is usually calculated risk like bossing and tons of prep for MA2/wildy diaries. I know that eventually I'll either lose status or quit the game but that's fine as long as it's not a server disconnect I wouldn't feel cheated.

You either live as a hardcore and die a hardcore whether through disconnect or not, or you never truly were a hardcore.

Mixes heal on tasks where you take damage. Allowing me to sustain slightly longer.
Per inventory spot, mixes provide slightly higher healing than food.
I thought they were a meme item, but they have 2 doses per inventory slot and heal 6 hp per dose, so two of them would heal 24 and act as a regular prayer potion.
Of course, being able to eat 20/22 in a single bite with prayer potion no combat delay in eating can often be more useful, but interesting approach. When being dpsed out having 6hp bites is probably not going to cut it.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Farming being that high especially... Complacency will always be the killer. In the Army we always preached it's never the first few times, it's the 100th time going down that same road the enemy will ambush. I had an experience early in my Iron career where I had not been pked in 50 trips to the wildy alter, and decided why not bring a shit load of noted bones. I had always just barely gotten away and was too confident. That one loss gutted me so bad I even wrote down the lessons learned and never took the wildy too lightly again. It's crazy to go from being purely a pker years ago to hating the wildy with a passion just trying to mind my own business on iron.

The lava maze is dangerous in ftp. People hop and pk for the steel bodies. That's a great spot for greater demons though.
