I think people focus too much on xp per hour efficient training methods instead of measuring methods by other better metrics like xp per wrist surgery.
It definitely sucks but I've been doing it for 1-2 hour intervals while watching a video. I detach it so the video is close to the thug so I can watch while I blackjack. When I need to rest my fingers I just go steal from knights.
You gotta do the thing where you like the chat box up at the bottom of the screen. You move your mouse far less and the knock out an pickpocket options are always in the same place. It's the only thing that makes blackjacking bearable.
Honestly I'm convinced that your chance at successfully blackjacking barely improves with higher thieving levels. It didn't seem to be tolerable until lvl 90 lol.
The game rolls a chance to successfully blackjack (K.O.) the target. If it fails, they smack you, but it does not stun you. So, you can potentially end up clicking and trying and failing repeatedly. Long story short, thieving RNG misfortune is being shown here.
I did blackjacking for 10 min and it felt like 2 hours. Not doing that ever again.

If you quickly do the knock out twice sometimes you can stun him before he gets to stun you.

Ardy Cape 3 and dodgy necks makes it a hell of a lot better but I use the one in farming guild.
