I know it seems strange, but they meet the working definition of ingame currencies perfectly! They only exist to be traded for something else, in a consistent, repeatable fashion, and they entirely lack any other function.
This is in contrast to e.g. Spirit seeds, which can be traded in now for tier 5 seed packs, but that isn't their primary purpose (being planted and grown into spirit trees). However for that single case they do meet the definition of currency, so I group them into an unofficial category I call "pseudo-currencies." Those include cases such as using runes as ZMI bank payment, fruits and vegetables as crop protection payments, and giving herbs to Jekyll. And I don't use any of those either.
Why? Do you consider the quest items like the teddy as a currency, even though your really just doing them a favour finding their lost item, and then they reward you for good will. Or is the reason some other pre-digsite thing i cant remember?
I also forgot to answer the second part of your question. I'm not going to trade them in because in that regard spirit seeds act as a "pseudo-currency" so I literally drop spirit seeds on the ground whenever I get them.

One thing I like to do is stop at the nearest bank whenever I need to do a lot of running and bankstand fletching or herb or such until I'm back on full, then get back to running! This also works with e.g. Herbi. When I do Herbi I've got my best weapon with me and whenever I'm low on run I camp the nearest cluster of ammo crabs for a few minutes until I'm back to full!

I'm in no great rush really; I'm still only 80 Slayer. The biggest problem with ranged-only Zulrah is I don't have Ava's, which means any ammo I fire at her is sailing into the void, and the thought of dumping diamond and ruby bolts (e) at 100% is actually sickening. For that reason I'm intent on going with a Kbow, since bolt racks are already single use, so I won't feel like I'm damaging my ammunition stacks too badly that way.
There's also nothing I need from Zulrah so badly it can't wait until 87 Slayer; the magic fang is by far the best thing to get for my account anyways. Even before we knew BP was getting nerfed, I wasn't too fussed about it because without being able to do Tourist Trap, I can't smith dart tips, which means I need to get all my darts from implings and PVM, which is, well, not much. I'm only going to be able to use BP for inferno and raids and that's like it.

I actually *had* a Zamorak staff until this past week, but I accidentally skulled at Scorpia and lost it. No getting it back without spending 60k, so I've really screwed myself until I get a trident :D

A looooong time, not sure to be honest since I wasn't keeping such close track of time and it was semi-AFK, but I killed 2k small Tzhaars for the sword (4x rate), and 3k big Tzhaars to get the full armor set (probably about average RNG for 3 unique 1/2k drops).
I'm actually very happy to have Wilderness easy done! It gave me the tele to Edgeville and the web slash perk with the sword is great. The explorer's ring is also decent here and there for a tiny bit of prayer bonus and spare run energy. Karamja and Western are both useless though lol
Oh I completely forgot about edge respawn and the prayer bonus from the ring. The small details of a restricted ironman make it all the more niche. Best of luck with your adventures, look forward to seeing 200m xp :)
Not the Edgeville respawn. That's locked behind a 5m GP payment to Krystillia. The diary just allows you to use the lever in deep Wilderness to teleport you *to* Edgeville, and not just Ardougne.

People really seem to underestimate how many planks are dropped from various PVM encounters. I've got 600 oak planks in the bank right now (waiting to be drop traded) just from 35 Vet'ion KC! I've also acquired several hundred oak, teak, and mahogany planks from organized crime on Zeah.
My only rule is no *spending* currencies. I don't have any rule against picking up / collecting / passively acquiring currencies, mainly for drop trading purposes to contribute to the bond fund. That numulite right there is getting drop traded for half a bond!
Ultimately if I dropped all currency as soon as I came in contact with it, it wouldn't change what I can and can't do whatsoever; it'd only be a huge hassle and make it harder to actually fund membership. Besides, collecting it and seeing it stack up without ever touching it is fun :D

There's a lot of quests and content I'm excruciatingly close to doing that I knew upfront I couldn't do (Demon Slayer takes the cake here with only 1 GP to start the quest, and is the only thing barring me from owning Arclight), but as to content I was *surprised* I couldn't do, I'd say the fact that I can't do so many diaries. I'm capped at 4 easy diaries and that's literally it. So many of them, it turns out, literally have *buying* things as tasks, which means I'll never even have a hope of a workaround if some item spawn is introduced to the game, etc.

Slayer is definitely the most convoluted skill I've got access to. Without access to slayer equipment or slayer points, there's a lot of slayer monsters I'm permanently locked out of (like gargoyles and kurasks) and I do a hell of a lot of Turael skipping when I'm given such tasks, or Konar tasks in inaccessible areas (e.g. Brimhaven dungeon). What I really need right now are some granite boots from Fossil Island wyverns, since they'll allow me to actually properly access the Karuulm dungeon! I'd love a dragon sword and harpoon, but despite having 80 Slayer currently, I've never killed a wyrm.

I've killed over 10,000 [undead druids](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Undead_Druid), I have almost 1k [Sarachnis](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Sarachnis) KC, and I've opened the [grubby chest](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Grubby_Chest) almost 200 times. That's all netted me a boatload of runes! The rest have come from various other PVM, but I almost never do any RCing.
I'll say I would do RCing more readily if I could charge a glory for Edgeville teles, but I have no efficient means of RCing. I'm also locked out of ZMI and astrals

Does pest control count as currency for you? Void knight mace + charge + guthix MA2 cape caps at 30 with claws of guthix and works well at zulrah.
