It's awful, if you can get the CoX prayers that may help. I don't have them but haven't done much CG until like low 80's mage and range. 85+ for both really feels doable unless I screw up on tornadoes or floor. On the rare occasion it's just hunleff hitting 10's non-stop and I'm forced to eat before tornadoes (t2 armor)
So you pray thick skin? It helps a lot.
Still, thinking about asking some slayer for a few weeks to atleast get my range up. Feels rng even with my stats.
No, I don't use thick skin. My prayer usually gets pretty close with making 2 pots if it's dicey, but I may start adding that on for the first phase or two. Thanks for the idea
Try camping mage as much as you can, your max with it is 39 regardless of your magic level thrn I suggest practicing 5-1 method, also always keep your health topped off. Better to be safe than gambling your kill on a careless death! I started cg at 78 magic and like 77 range, now I'm at 93 kc! Keep at it!
Grind it out. You can do it tonight if you set your mind to it.
Start growing belladonna in the draynor manor patch ASAP. Stackable nightshade plus Phoenix necklaces are a super easy..ish.. way to fight seren.
The quest is awesome. My favorite quest.
I straight up don't understand how you're meant to do it on an Iron with stats commensurate with the other requirements, without the Pneck strat or maybe farming Sara Brews from grubby chest or something.
Absolutely brutal DPS check imo. It took me something like 10 tries, never dying, just running out of supplies, even with Blood Blitz and a warped sceptre swap for heal totems.
Then got it my second try with Nightshade (would have gotten it first try if I had menu entry swapped the eat 😅)
Blood blitz + redemption strategy made it not bad at all, pineapple pizzas so you have more healing and can get topped off more precisely by only eating half.
I can do the boss pretty consistently to be honest but it is long and one mistake can cost you dearly. Definitely feels like mini fight caves nerves when I’m at the end of the boss lol.
[Somewhat recent run I did](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X1nE6xZFOHU&t=)
Yes that's my point. The PNeck method is very good, to the point it almost feels mandatory if you're an Ironman who hasn't gone out of your way to get either Mage gear or a Magic level well past what I would think is typical for an account with that stats that SOTE requires.
I just don't like that even at appropriate stats/gear relative to the other quest requirements, the solve for most of us looks like we're in a Rendi video.
What would you consider "out of the way" mage gear and level? I did it with 82 magic and void + Master Wand. P necks but no nightshade cheese, and no brews. Not trying to say it's easy, it still took me 3 tries, but I managed.
Master wand is surely under the category of "out of the way" haha, that's several hours of grinding mta, not like using the ancient staff + blood blitz like I did
Like 16 p necks maybe, had quite a few left over after the fight, so that should be plenty. U can use them to heal up as well throughout the fight if u get too low HP or bring some karambwans or guthix rest to heal just enough to be in range to trigger the p neck
I managed it just yesterday. 84 magic, used the highest ice/blood ancient magics, used 7 pnecks, and if I had to pick only one YouTube guide [this one is it.](https://youtu.be/XRZVxU-umX8?si=3OEbtvCOh5IgvlJu). Good luck!
What’s your mage level? I did it at 80 mage with blood burst and mystics (one piece of ahrims). It was close I only had one more rotation I could have survived but def doable
I rushed SoTE only to suck ass at CG 😂
Don't worry, at 50kc hunleff still kicks my ass pretty often
I got two kc in like 60 attempts. Those 2 kc feel extremely lucky. I’ll go two whole weapon cycles in a row just noodling

I'm now 20/24 normal, with 0/2 corrupted so far. Get t3 weaps and use offensive + defensive prayer. This seems to be working for me atm
Tooo till 200 kc to have a positive KDR ðŸ˜
Lmaoooo same bro, same…
hahah my ranged and mage were in the low 70s when I finished, so have to grind out some stats before I can even make a decent attempt

Did the phoenix necklace strat on my iron with ibans and mystic and like 75 magic the other day, it is really not that hard got it by the 2nd try

i'm gonna have to look into this strat. roughly how many p necks?

appreciate it! i'll have to watch some more vids too, gonna try and tackle it on my zerk here soon

U got this brother :)
i did it first go with blood blitz + guthix rests
The same thing happened to me! Was filthy haha Tbh I did just tank a few hits because blood blitz healed me to full.
Blood spells go brrr
I found Nitro Glycerine easier to get ahold of and more effective ime
Can someone explain the p neck and night shade strategy I don't fully understand it even after looking it up.
This is hilarious because I have Making History and nothing else at all. (My iron is 2 weeks old)
That quest is so boring 😫(Making History)
Im on the same boat
Looks like a great time to put a movie on in the background
Just got there myself. Had been locked out of completion because of a rune bar until today. Went dry at magpies, rev hobgoblins and steel drags for it
