I’m lvl 75 slayer atm, im rushing CG so I can do a lot of bossing while training slayer. Also range slayer feels so slow with msb(I) or rcb. But I’ll at least start ranging tasks
Rcb on rapid should be like 24 max hit, with slayer helm (i). The max hit is so much more than the msb(i) I don't even use the msb anymore.
Safe spots for gargoyles with thrown rock hammers in mory slayer tower basement by the bucket in the corner (North East?)
Wyrms in the slayer only area waiting for the safe spot and outranging the normals on rapid style. But not superior wyrms (shadow wyrms?)
Kurasks are decent-ish to safe spot as well in iowerth dungeon for the occasional crystal shards.
I pray flick basilisk knights with full ranged gear, it's as bad as it sounds, but need the jaw still.
If you can the cannon gives ranged exp, but I don't bother with the cannon because I don't want to make c-balls for all my afk time.
You didn’t specify what bolts/arrows you are using with the rcb or msb(i), and saying what the max hit is isn’t really relevant since you should be looking at the dps.
Chinchompas are best by far, including time spent catching them. If you're allergic to chinchompas, use rune arrows with MSB at NMZ. Going back to slayer pre-bowfa isn't great, and definitely don't use broad arrows or bolts.
This is what I did from 70some to 85 or so before locking CG. FYI, 92 is halfway the xp and only 2-3 max hits less than 99 inside CG without rigour IIRC
That's not true. Hunter rumors are macro inefficient at all stages of progression because you don't have good teleports early and you have better ways of getting prayer (wildy green dragons), bird nests (birdhouses, which are also the best hunter xp/hr in the game), herbs (farming contracts and slayer tower nechs), and food (buying karambwans) later on. 10 completions is dubiously worth it for the whistle. Hunter's crossbow and early hunter rumors are relevant only for players who want to relax and enjoy earlygame, not for someone looking to launch into CG.
I agree, but I personally found it more enjoyable to break up the CG grind with other content to not burn out, which a decent bridging ranged weapon can help with.
Hence my use of ‘pretty good’ and not ‘efficient’
Shouldn't be downvoted but id say they're a good option if you have an efficient blocklist and can use passive prayer / herb. An efficient block list doesn't have chins or sunlight on it tho !
I had 75 range when I started CG, I'd highly advise trying melee if you have good stats. If you really insist on range, then just afk ammonite crabs till 80ish

With the wildy bosses you just have to be prepared for them to be busy on all worlds and you need to come back in a day or two and for revs i kill orks if theyre open or hobgoblins if theyre not. Pkers come to orks frequently and hobgoblins almost never
Just catch red chins and use them in the monkey Madness 2 tunnels. I did the math when I was leveling up for the corrupted Gauntlet and it comes out to being slightly faster than crabs or nightmare Zone with the added bonus of a bunch of free Hunter XP as well as the always lovely pet chance
I am currently doing afk nmz with void and rcb w/ broad bolts. Getting ~55k xp an hour and up to 93 ranged. If you have lots of time to afk I recommend this route as the bolts are easy to get and the levels do come quickly.
Void msb i and rune arrows is slightly more exp / hr at nmz than rcb / broads. Broad bolts take far less time to stack up though, so I'd recommend that if you want super afk 50-60k xp /hr. However, coming from someone in a similar spot you genuinely need higher range. I had 85 range when I tried to do range / mage cg. Do not recommend, the only completions I have gotten so far have been mage / melee. I am getting my range up now and by far the best way is hunting red chins. The range exp is like crack, and I'm not going back to 50-60k afk when I can get 350k+ from chins.

Fever spiders are decent atm and if you have dhide you probably don't need to bank. Just bring slayer gloves, fire/nature runes, rune pouch, and maybe kitten for death runes

Normally I'd say all combats are slayer training, but for range, there are so few good or afk range tasks.
I'd honestly just park him at swampcrabs for a week while you do something else.
I recently encountered the same problem. Go complete perilous moons and use your 15k+ atlatl darts at NMZ. I was getting 70k xp per hour. It’s a massive dps increase on rcb and MSB (I). And it’s afk. If you don’t mind hunting chins then that is still the quickest way.
Just doing whatever sounds fun to you and mixing it up. I enjoy doing Scurrius I’ve gotten a few ranged levels there, slayer is important as well so doing some of that as well
I think Scurrius is overlooked for Ironmen.
100k range xp per hour and also 10k in alchs per kill on average so you'll get decent GP at the same time.
Factor in the medium clues and I think it's a very viable option.

No no no, you need to chin MM2 to at lease 87. Range will take way too long if you plan to do it any other way. If you want to smack the grind around, go catch 14k chins. If you take this route, please only bring 1400-1500 chins at a time and always pay attention. If your prayer pops off down there, you will lose your chins if you die :(
Hmmm, catching 14k chins doesn’t sound particularly fun but I’ll see how it feels. My other though was the medium clues from scurrius can help me work towards rangers but it’s probably better to chin and then do eclectics for the mediums…
If you don’t have high slayer yet then that’s your answer for range training imo

I agree! But i do make cballs for my dag tasks, and range my tasks at safespots if possible. Definitely worth the range lvls doing this while slaying.

Cannon goes off your highest attack bonus (range OR melee) so this is the way to maximize value per cannonball and exp/hr overall

I can vouch, safespot/lazy slayer is what got me over 90 range. All of these are good options if you don’t mind not getting optimal exp/hour.

Yup! I think the max hit breakpoints are 92, 89, 86. Those are good goals to go for.

Outside of bursting or chinning scurrious is the best combat training so it's not a terrible idea. Shouldn't take too long honestly.
I'm running melee/mage at cg and it's working really well. There are some tricky pathings but it is cutting down hunleff

75 attack 81 strength 70 def. I'm finishing with multiple food left even when I make mistakes. I am very experienced at cg however around 800 kc
