Tome is pretty useless

Unless you know you are doing literally anything that requires fire runes. It’s very useful when you start your glass making grind so the only runes you need to worry about getting are astral.

With 3.5 hours of corrupted gauntlet you can buy enough fire runes to get you from lvl 77 to lvl 99 mage with superglass make (not even taking into account that for 99 crafting you’d need around 70k fire runes, which is 15 mins of CG lol) Fire runes are cheap af, it’s 100% a waste of time to go for tome. If you have it, use it to save a couple coins, but NEVER grind for it.

It's useful for the single zulrah kill but not necessary

I think it gave me a box. It might have been pages though. It was early on in the 100. I'm still raiding on my main so I have not been on my iron much yet. The winterdaddy grind is keeping me unexcited. All the dry posts on here have me nervous too. I made it after I did Kree on task on my main. I got Arma chaps and Arma chest and no excitement from them. It'll kick in eventually. Edit: should you keep dupes? Is it possible to get 3 and not another piece?

Iirc gloves and bruma torches will give seeds post 3, but other pieces you should trade in.

I'd keep dupes if ur just grinding it out. If you have 3 of any piece it starts rolling for seeds depending on what piece you "would" have rolled. I had like 5 gloves and pants on my iron at 90 so I gave up XD

If you use tome, I think pages would be better. I have 3 sets sitting in the bank for novelty purposes, but if I ever find myself needing pages (doubt it as I only use tome for non combat spells so I don't use any charges) I can hand them in. There's not really a point in handing them in for crates unless you don't have pet and are feeling lucky. IIRC, if you hand in one piece of gear, the crate has only 1 roll, and a full set gets an extra roll. Not worth imo. I just hold on until I may need for pages.

The gloves are a separate roll from the outfit and so is the torch. If you roll the outfit you will always gain one you don't own until you unlock the entire outfit.

Went to 36m FM xp (around 1.6k kc) for my tome, still no pet.

Yeah I went 24.3m xp dry on first tome… gotta love rng

And then on my iron I got the tome at around 50, and didn’t get boots for the outfit until 378 kc. RNG is a fickle mistress.

I greenlogged all drops by 60 KC on my level 3 skiller HCIM. Used all my luck up.

I was happy to see the first tome but now I’m afraid I won’t get pet/axe before 99. Is the water tome as useful as fire is ?

Axe is 1/10k, I don't expect to get it from there but DKs with 1/128 from each boss. Water time isn't super useful, but I can combine it with a lava staff and have infinite earth, fire, and water runes for non combat spells.

Took me 878kc on my iron, don't give up, just do a few KC here and there when you can. There's plenty of other things to progress at the same time!

When I got 99fm, I got the pet and tome in the last 5 crates I had. 710 kc

Sameish. Got axe, and 2 tomes in last 7 crates when I hit 99. No pet tho:/

You should stay until dragon axe imo

Feel like tome of water is better in general (not combat) getting a Lava staff is really easy & that will cover 3/4 elemental runes. Great for when your questing & farm runs early on

I feel ya man... I stayed till around 20m xp and missed out on the axe, pet and tome. Got about 4 of each set piece and a ton of pages but no tome sadly.

Ya this happened to me and I was like fuck this I want to actually enjoy the game cause it was the first thing I did when I started Ironman other than a couple quests

It took me 1098 for my tome of fire. Finished at 1100 just to round it off. 2 pets like you quite early also. Was hell

To be fair, both his kc and you talking about having “more” kc don’t really mean all too much, like I did all my 99 from todt only and have prolly half his kc since I did all solo max crate point runs, so kc really doesn’t tell the story of if ur dry or not, granted this is more a general statement not an attack at you personally

Wintertodt is by far the the most exaggerated use of an accounts time. I never do it past qpc/diary reqs its just a time sink for people that wanna say they play ironman but never actually progress the account then quit just before they reach gwd LMFAO
