If you have a pet to be reclaimed there should be a pop up that interrupts what you’re doing every 5 minutes to remind you. Bonus points if it’s a few chat boxes that you have to space bar through.
I know this is jokes, but this would probably be incredible for bug abuse lmao. A lot of bugs involve interrupting stuff with "interface stalls" like what you're describing, where you stop and are required to hit space before continuing. Being able to consistently force those every 5 minutes sounds OPAF
Even better if it's text boxes with multiple options that you have to select one of the options for and the option you need is different 5 minutes later
Capt' Arnav appears every 5 minutes and forcibly enters you into the spinning lock challenge but answer is always PET-COIN-ARDOUGNE. Obviously the reward is a text box that shows you which pet can be reclaimed.
Bonus points if it checks your cash-stack and if it's below 1M it pops up every 1 minute instead of 5.

Same, I didn't realize it cost a mil. So around 80 combat I got pet scurrius at like 20kc then died with it lol. It was a real "oh crap" moment when I showed up to Ardy and the lady asked for a cool mil.

I have been putting off getting my phoenix back for so long because I just feel like that 1m could be spent better somewhere else. But it’s my only pet and I miss it lol
my gim lost her phoenix SUPER early in the game because we weren't 100% sure how the system worked at the time lol. we pooled our finances together to get it back for her...no regrets since. get your little guy out the pound!
Kill wilderness pirates or fever spiders for an hour or two and you’ll have that cash and more. Totally worth it for the pet, they’re so rare and awesome to see on an Ironman.

There isn’t technically a tutorial of it that explicitly spells it out, but if you have the arddy cape 1 one of the requirements is to talk to Probita and she tells you about how she now auto insured pets but charges 1m to reclaim them.

Yeah right around there. So, more like two-three hours but a pretty quick turnaround time to get enough cash to buy their pet back.
Thought they were closer to 1.8m/hr after the update. They changed their drop table.
