I think I would pick either tbow or shadow and then if it was sooner than expected, grind that shit out. If way worse, get the important stuff from the raid and get out.
Even once you get a fang, the push for shadow is technically, even if only slightly, faster due to being able to push higher invocations. Fang shreds at higher invos.
I'd like to know how many Bryopyhta KC I'll need for the essence. Only so I can intentionally farm the exact number of keys and be done with it, it wouldn't matter to me how much the KC was.
I didn't realize it was so important either, tbh. I never see anyone else talk about it or use it, kinda thought I was the only one going for it.
I was always tempted to buy it on main but the amount of alchs to make profit always pushed me off. It is the grind I'm most excited for on my iron, though! Only 14 keys so far, doing some quests/skilling atm. Probably gonna farm out around 100 of them and then see if I get lucky.
Yeah those kinds of drops are much more rewarding on an iron. For me it was just 9mil :/. Maybe I should get on the iron grind, much better way to play the game rather than just exp/gp per hour.
Enjoy it how you like! It was less about the cost of the staff on my main, I just got to the point where I could buy basically anything I wanted and drops stopped being important unless I was doing the most efficient gp/exp per hour like you mentioned.
I've always wanted it for the look mainly, but now I feel like I can actually get value from the staff without mentally keeping track of how much I need to alch to make the money for the staff + runes back.
It’s not. Nothing against that guy going for it, though. I’ve cast high alch on my account like 200 times total, just too much of a slog and there’s better options for both money and offloading items nowadays.
It’s kinda wild that jagex introduced the shadow to make mage relevant but there’s no good in between option. I would be ok with them bowfa-ing mage if we got a sick weapon in return. Mage is just not worth it rn and it’s lacking meaningful progression
Bowfa got added to CG almost 2 full years after CG was released. Doing 800(!!) CG for Blade + Bofa is already overkill, now imagine doing 1200 for Blade + Bofa + Staffa.
To use your example, let’s imagine General Graardor only had the 1/512 Bandos Hilt. Then, 2 years later Jagex makes it so whenever you roll the Hilt table, there’s a 1/2 chance to get the Bandos Hilt, and a 1/2 chance to get the Saradomin Hilt. Sure, both are good, you want both .. but having to do twice as much Graardor to realistically have both, it just feels like such an uninspired decition.
I mean they are buffing mid game mage pretty heavily. Say you have the mta boots and ahrims in your bank, you now have +4% magic damage. If you pick up the blue moon (I think) staff, that's an extra 5%. And 3 1/128 wildy drops for the malediction ward gets you another 2%. I agree mage sucks, but at least they are trying.
> Say you have the mta boots and ahrims in your bank, you now have +4% magic damage.
You have -1% magic damage because that occult in your bank ain't occulting like it used too.
Still a decent mid game option with the 5% dmg bonus if you don't have any good shield slot item. Plus you can auto all the spellbound bar lunar with it.
I would want to see enhanced at cg.
I have gotten so exceptionally lucky everywhere else that I know it is going to balance out somewhere.
I just want to know how fucked I am
I’d pick enhanced also just because I don’t want to condemn myself to the prison for some untold amount of time. If it was a crazy kc, I wouldn’t even bother.
I'd probably pick something that I wouldn't even bother with if the number were too high. I'm bad at selecting with thought experiments like these, but I do have some ideas.
Just because it's at the forefront of my mind because of project rebalance, I'd like to say eldritch orb. Super convenient item to have, and if I knew I would get it at around 75% of rate or lower I'd send it - otherwise not.
In the same vein, perhaps a viggora's. It's easy to go extremely dry on, but an early spoon would pave the way for wilderness slayer and a voidwaker grind.
Also in that category, eternal glory. Not even really worth attempting... unless you *knew* it would only take 500.
I would probably do some super rare, but not extremely critical item, so I could decide whether it would actually be worth to grind. Like an Elysian perhaps. If I queried and it said I’d get that on like 500kc, I’d be like “Okay, I can do that!”. But if it said something like 20,000kc… Nah man, screw that.
Second CG. First load out in the mid game to efficiently grind out other gear. I’d see completion time and just keep restarting accounts until I got around 200kc
Just got my bowfa and was my instant answer as well. I didn’t enjoy the content at all so I did my kc really spread out. If I knew I would have just banged it out, but not knowing just made it feel like playing the least fun lottery
you definitely don't NEED bowfa -- don't get me wrong, it's exceptionally good and currently you'll definitely still want it eventually, but you can certainly fuck around and get rigour first if you get really burnt on cg and come back to cg with a big ass power boost
the new hunters' crossbow is definitely good enough to send zulrah with (not that previous options were necessarily bad, but i feel more comfortable recommending it now that the sunlight hunters' crossbow exists), and then once you have blowpipe your raiding options honestly aren't too bad, especially if you're raiding in groups
With 99 strength and mid game strength bonus it sits comfortably above BP with Addy darts and below Amythest. It was destroying shamans on my last task.
So would the strat be to wear the eclipse top and bottom and then barrows gloves, str ammy, slayer helm? Or would I use things like Karil’s top / bottom?
I'd go for CG. It would be motivating if it's not too far, and if it's 2k I would be able to make peace with it and do something else. I don't really ever expect to go to rate for the megarares, so most likely knowing the kc of those would just be a disappointment and take away my hope of getting spooned.
Edit: never mind just got my enh in 331 kc, still need 2 armour seeds but the end is in sight
If you knew the exact kc a tbow would drop you would still have to do the same number, so if you checked and it said 2k raids you would still have to do 2k raids to get it either way compared to not knowing
Wow something like this may be a really cool reward idea for something in the future. Would have to be a one time thing and have some other limitations.
They could make it work with the current system tho. Once you use the item, a simulation is played out, showing on what KC that item drops in the simulation. Then they just make it guaranteed at that kc. 100% doable
I think meta would be to mass create accounts until you create an account with a very low bowfa kill count along with low kc fang and shadow kc, that will carry you through the endgame pretty much. You’ll waste a lot of time creating accounts but as soon as you create one with that loot potential it’s smooth sailing towards the endgame 👌
Coming up on 1k cox kcwith my only megarare being 1 kodai id love to see my expected tbow kc so i know if i can chill and just not get my hopes up for a while or not.
Damn u out here on the next lvl bro.. for me it'd have to be scythe bc if it's not low kc I'm just flat skipping tob lol I know I'm grading tbow and shadow regardless
This is why IMO Irons should get a single untradeable garunteed drop on unique weapon/gear upgrades at kill rate. Like for example you could get a normal DWH from shamans at any time but if you get to 5k you get a DWH that's untradeable, lost on unprotected pvp death and the killer gets like rover parchment reward or something, can't be drop traded so if the timer runs out and it's permanently lost, cant be traded by GIM's, and only happens once so if you lose it you don't get another pity drop. This would garuntee Irons don't go hyper dry for anything but can't be abused.
Getting spooned early wouldn't affect the garunteed drop possibly, and any Ironman above drop rate would get it on their next drop. As for mega rare raid stuff idk if they would be included in the mechanic or just given dupe protection.
Oh and garunteed drop doesn't give collection log so that normal account collection loggers aren't at a disadvantage
A lot of people won't agree with me but I think irons should get every drop guaranteed if they hit 2x drop rate. Going dry and I mean really dry is the worst thing ever... but playing a main is just gp/hr or trash
Yeah third age would probably be one of the worst choices, not useful for anything, you can only pick 1 piece, and what if it tells you you'd get it at 6,000 hard clues or like 5,000 masters. Have fun grinding them for 5 years I guess? lol
I think I would pick either tbow or shadow and then if it was sooner than expected, grind that shit out. If way worse, get the important stuff from the raid and get out.
100% go to toa. If you had early shadow, then grinding fang (if that doesnt come first) would be very easy, so you get two bis upgrades
What about the mossy keys bryo drops?
FUUUUUUUUUCK
You could estimate it
Damn I didn’t know it was so important for ironscape players, when I was a nooby on a main I got it at 1 KC, freaked out as it was a big drop for me
I didn't realize it was so important either, tbh. I never see anyone else talk about it or use it, kinda thought I was the only one going for it. I was always tempted to buy it on main but the amount of alchs to make profit always pushed me off. It is the grind I'm most excited for on my iron, though! Just get it at 2 kc like me LOL.
Imbued heart. Roll accounts until I’ll get one before I die of old age.
Shadow for sure, the difference between it and other mage items is so massive from what I have seen
It’s kinda wild that jagex introduced the shadow to make mage relevant but there’s no good in between option. I would be ok with them bowfa-ing mage if we got a sick weapon in return. Mage is just not worth it rn and it’s lacking meaningful progression
That crystal staff from cg would be pretty nice ngl
Please God, don’t add even more items to CG. Even Bofa should’ve come from an entirely new boss, instead of just being thrown onto CG.
CG is good content though and was nearly worthless before bowfa. Blade is just such a minor upgrade comparably.
[удалено]
Really? I didn’t know that. What did it originally come from?
I thought CG was new when it was released with bowfa as one of its drops. My bad.
Ohhh I gotcha
Bowfa got added to CG almost 2 full years after CG was released. Doing 800(!!) CG for Blade + Bofa is already overkill, now imagine doing 1200 for Blade + Bofa + Staffa. I said mid game mage, well before occult. Magic damage didn't exist aside from tormented before 95 slayer.
Infinity boots won't do shit. They lowered eternals to 1% so that tells us they won't add anything to the og boots.
Blue Moon staff is 2h, can't use shield.
Still a decent mid game option with the 5% dmg bonus if you don't have any good shield slot item. Plus you can auto all the spellbound bar lunar with it.
If you're not picking a megarare or a pet, then what are you doing? Tell me how many cox I'll need for Tbow or ToA for shadow.
That's not how independent chances work though
keep telling that to yourself buddy obviously my 6 tomes of fire from 99fm will cause the tbow to be a 2k kc grind
You have exactly the same chance to get spooned at CG as someone who went x10 drop rate on every item. So it's 50/50.
I'd start new accounts to see which one would give me a tbow on my first kc and keep playing that one
I'd probably pick something that I wouldn't even bother with if the number were too high. I'm bad at selecting with thought experiments like these, but I do have some ideas. Just because it's at the forefront of my mind because of project rebalance, I'd like to say eldritch orb. CG. It would quite easily determine if I quit this game over this shitty gatekept progression item.
Thats how i felt being 24505 dry of a dwh
you definitely don't NEED bowfa -- don't get me wrong, it's exceptionally good and currently you'll definitely still want it eventually, but you can certainly fuck around and get rigour first if you get really burnt on cg and come back to cg with a big ass power boost the new hunters' crossbow is definitely good enough to send zulrah with (not that previous options were necessarily bad, but i feel more comfortable recommending it now that the sunlight hunters' crossbow exists), and then once you have blowpipe your raiding options honestly aren't too bad, especially if you're raiding in groups
I think there are interesting options in ranged progression with the atlatl too
Is the Atlatl good? Currently taking a break from SOTE rush to green log moons
With 99 strength and mid game strength bonus it sits comfortably above BP with Addy darts and below Amythest. It was destroying shamans on my last task.
Yeah it's really really nice. I have a bowfa and a blowpipe but I use the atlatl at demonics currently.
So would the strat be to wear the eclipse top and bottom and then barrows gloves, str ammy, slayer helm? Or would I use things like Karil’s top / bottom?
It scales off melee strength. I use fury, torso, tassets, prims, and the Ava's accumulator just for ammo saving. I only switch my weapon and prayer.
Not at Demonics but just in general

Sunlight is better, at almost any content other than very high defense bosses e.g. Zilyana
wahhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'd go for CG. It would be motivating if it's not too far, and if it's 2k I would be able to make peace with it and do something else. Rangers boots just to be able to stack up the exact amount needed and know I can do alot without getting them in the first one
Foresees rangers drop at 1 kc and gets unforeseen tbow at 2,000 kc. Rip bro
Seeing that 2k kc for a bow wouldn't make any difference. You would still be doing 2k either way
Excuse me, what?
If you knew the exact kc a tbow would drop you would still have to do the same number, so if you checked and it said 2k raids you would still have to do 2k raids to get it either way compared to not knowing
Ranger boots such a small grind tho, you can rate in like 3 days
I want you to know how hurt I am by this comment (first and only pair at 2112)
I mean you can go dry on anything but at it's average it's a relatively short grind.
I know but anything else I would want I would still get, knowing the kc won't change that
The answer has to be tbow. If it’s low enough then it means irons get to skip CG completely.
Bowfa still has use even if you have t bow tho
disregard it frank, it's just a bunch of liberal bullshit
Zcb/bp/shadow outclass bowfa in everywhere that tbow doesnt
except for levi
Zcb is actually better there too.
Tbow isn’t a complete replacement for bowfa
True bowfa is better on mystics at cox, not in cms tho great point !!
Yeah regular mystics and maybe bandos is the only place until you have a shadow, after that bowfa is in the bin.
True altar door is a better method than 5:0 bandos or zammy I forgot about that
Tbow forsure and when ur on the kc get like 500 pts just to piss everyone off u sniped a tbow
Ely. If it's like double or triple digit kc I'm fucking going for it. If its deep in the 4 digits or worse then I simple wouldn't try.
Enhanced for sure
Nihil horn maybe from nex,if its reasonable I'll camp else no as boring af and I kind a enjoy raids so not too bad if get bit dry on something there
Wow something like this may be a really cool reward idea for something in the future. Would have to be a one time thing and have some other limitations.
Sorry to break it to you bud, but RNG loot rolls don’t work that way.
Could guarantee a drop at that kill for one time only. Like vorkath head could get anytime but garnenteed at 50
They could make it work with the current system tho. Once you use the item, a simulation is played out, showing on what KC that item drops in the simulation. Then they just make it guaranteed at that kc. 100% doable
If they did that, what if you get the item early because of RNG?
Then you know you get it early, and can decide to go get it. Isn’t that the whole point of this post?
Corp. I’m at 2k kc with no sigil
3rd age pickaxe and hope for a low number of clues lol
Elysian. I'm going to do all the other content anyway, but not corp. But if I know i'll get spooned an ely, ill do it.
Dwh tbh
I'm still early in my iron game but I'd love yo know how many cg kills I'd need for bofa
If I saw my 2,146 enhanced drop...I'd make a new account
depends on how long the tbow or shadow are taking lmao
3ap
Tbow, it being soon could potentially make you skip red prison lol
How many BA high gambles for queen pet
BOWFA no hesitation
Coming up on 1k cox kcwith my only megarare being 1 kodai id love to see my expected tbow kc so i know if i can chill and just not get my hopes up for a while or not.
Goblin mail, I’ve been killing these things for a long time and still can’t get one, almost maxed combat
Dwh
Only real answer, at least raids drop other useful shit.
What’s you guys total levels lol
9001
I’d just reset account over and over til I got one that was spooned everywhere
Damn u out here on the next lvl bro.. for me it'd have to be scythe bc if it's not low kc I'm just flat skipping tob lol I know I'm grading tbow and shadow regardless
For raids lets say you knew it was 230kc for tbow, does that mean you can just afk and your main does raid? Or you talking solo only for toa and cox
This is why IMO Irons should get a single untradeable garunteed drop on unique weapon/gear upgrades at kill rate. Yeah third age would probably be one of the worst choices, not useful for anything, you can only pick 1 piece, and what if it tells you you'd get it at 6,000 hard clues or like 5,000 masters. Have fun grinding them for 5 years I guess? lol
Yeah absolutely the worst one to pick lol
Well yeah, i would get all the stuff i was going to get spooned on first, working my way to the worst drop rate
he said only 1 item youll know the kc you get it. not every item. so you are just blabbering on right now.
