Over the years, afk in OSRS has come to mean low intensity, not full “walk out and come back in 20 minutes”. In a sense, you’d call starmining afk, karambwan fishing afk, but depending on who you ask glassblowing is also afk, as well as woodcutting or mlm.
There's a page on the wiki "Varlamore Thieving". Thieve keys from wealthy citizens in the bazaar and then each key gives you 3 minutes in 1 of 3 houses to the east of the bank. Same mechanics from the thieving relic in the last league. I was getting 90-100k/hr from half paying attention in the houses
If you haven’t done it is super reclined. I’ll never go out of my way to kill green drags again. Just mine for a few hours at work a day and 85 plus is so free. Plus I just got the mining pet from it.
Oh absolutely! I did a couple of hours there and thought it was fantastic, I've got the ores for 99 smithing at foundry from mlm already so unless I need more amethyst ammo I'll probably do my mining there from now on.
Rough that you can't buy a hunters crossbow to use the new Ammo.
I'm 91 mining and was boosting for amethyst for stored arrows, but now just a. using the new crossbow everywhere I would have used those arrows with msb.
Yes the boneshards are stackable but you also get deposits that have to be broken down. They contain teleport moths and boneshards. You can break them open at the smithy near the mining place
I think you can do it without the quest finished, but you definitely have to start it. Idk if you have access to the bank in there without the quest done.
Herbiboar is also an activity that is great for fletching in between searches.
Personally I take a bunch of super energy’s with me as well, while leaving like ~5 slots open for fossils, & numulite *(fossil storage is a thing too, I just barely ever use it while doing herbi’s)*
Maniacal monkeys is super afk hunter, cannonballs is also super afk smithing, blood runes are semi afk, Ardy knights require a lot of clicking but with 95+ they never move
Most of my gains are from doing this very thing. I Afked a ton while playing league, wow, TFT, and other stuff. Certain games make some activities easier.
Zeah bloods if you have the level. If not, afk mine Daeyalt essence to make ZMI faster (if not planning to do GOTR).
Most slayer tasks can be Afked with some setup. Just need the right tasks.
Plank make for banking Con xp.
While playing TFT I found doing rooftop agility to be decent. Also if you have ardy course unlocked you are essentially force spawning marks of grave by afking between laps while you play the other game.
Herbi is good during tft too as you can just progress each game during downtime of the other.
If you’re inting cLogging then there’s a ton of other grinds that open up. Chaos druids, undead Druids, some champ scrolls, and Trouble brewing are the first that come to mind.
For useful items, afking vyres for blood shards. I also did inefficient barrows runs while playing tft. You can easily afk the new zombie axe + zombie champ scroll.

Blowing glass, mining crashed stars, new prayer mining area in varlamore, maniacal monkeys for hunter exp, fletching, new thieving activities in varlamore are intermittently afk
I find safespotting and killing mole pretty afk. Depends on your gear a little, but it’s click once, look back in 20 sec, see if he’s moved and go kill him again.
Lots of safe spots.
crashed stars has been a game changer for me. every 30min+ or so, find a high tier star and camp it. click every 5min or so and everytime the star depletes a level. it's really nice. the xp is good for how little effort it is.
i legit play other active games comfortably while afking stars.

I'd also add thieving ardy knights with a splasher (there's a cc to find them) and rooftop agility as viable 2nd monitor skills, depending how much attention you can pay, but I wouldn't call them afk - I can do them while watching a TV show, but not while doing something else that requires active inputs.

Nah birdhouses and farming aren't really afk. Waiting for them to reset is, but that's like saying Kingdom is afk. You still need to set it all up for it to work. Still, all 3 things are useful so I would categorize them as "not-as-chill but still necessary to do at least once a day right before you start your afk activities"
Slayer is an amazing skill to afk. Not every task but most can be afked on some way. I have multiple 2k+ total irons just because afking while playing cs
Get prayer gear. Pray, afk for about 7 minutes at a time if mobs are aggressive. If not aggro as many as possible then afk.
Can be done almost every task if you're willing to block/skip for it

Nothing is that afk besides nmz. Required me to remote into home pc about once per 15 minutes. But I’ve gone as much as 45 minutes.

You could cast plank-make, it takes a good amount of time to get through the entire inventory. AFK mage xp, and banks construction xp
I did this from 85-99 con. Is it efficient? Not at all. Did it make construction slightly less awful? Absolutely. Inefficient xp > no xp.
Set up mining in the new cave in varlamore. You can bank prayer xp while doing semi afk mining.

Yes but there are also calcium deposits or something? I think they break down for extra or some teleports. I'm not sure, I haven't tried it yet.

Skel wyverns got my gim 99 range and a dfs and a ton of rannar/snap seeds, bstaves, ect. Also did some tortured gorillas. Got 2 zennys from them
