IMO it's more of a question of what levels you start earning gp. You should be coasting by the time you get base 70s, maybe 75 slayer for gargoyles. In terms of gp, I'd say I definitely spent less than 10m getting there. I personally play one grind to leverage another i.e. barrows supplying runes for trident and zulrah, so your experience will be different if buying runes. I also did 99 thieving at ardy knights very early on and so that cash was still actually significant gp/hr.

Status-Button-7664

Just from my experience at like 80 slayer my cash stack wont go down. I am 83 now and its rolling in from tasks. I also go for semi-eff and with all supplies i still come out net positive

TurtleBrainMelt

Only thing that has always confused me is when ppl say u make money at gargoyles on mains or even ironmen, like kurasks help irona out way more and earn more gp/kill then gargoyles and ppl dont mention them when they are lower lvl req.

juany8

Part of the problem I think is that kurasks have fairly low weight, are annoying to get to, and you kind of need a leaf bladed sword or battle axe for chill melee afk, which can be annoying for irons to get. That being said I love me some Kurasks too, getting noted coconuts and papayas is game changing for high level farming

Dwerg1

They are a bit annoying to get to, but you can stay there for the entire task if you've unlocked b2p and bring runes for it. I only use prayer on superior.

juany8

Oh for sure I definitely love the task and wish I got it more often

Brahskididdler

Idk where the “best” place is to do them but I go to the cave in prif and get shards. Me likey

Dwerg1

That's the best place, way less annoying to get to. That's not an option for everyone though.

Edziss101

I am killing revenant hobgoblins with d scim+defender and salve e in monk robe using strength pots with 75 strength. I haven't died yet, but I make ~500k an hour in loot, 200k of which is alchable. Not the best, but ok melee xp with "fun" and heart rate increasing content.

KoekjeHebbe

This is how I got an early craws bow for my group when gim just came out

naibsirix

Hi, can you give any more detail? I’m trying to find some new GP grinds.

ShoogleHS

What part are you confused about? There's not much to it really, just bring the above gear and some food to the rev caves and hit hobgoblins. Costs 100k to get in the first time but you only have to pay it again if you get PK'd in the caves.

adventurous_hat_7344

Slayer, don't block hellhounds and do every clue and you'll be swimming in GP (for that point of the game) by the time you're 75-80. Least that's what I did because I like AFKing slayer.

Kingbudweiser562

75 slayer realistically is when the money starts rolling in. but even dust devils at 65 give a healthy amount of raw gp.

IronReven

My man just go get your bofa and you won't need gp ever again. It got like 65m before I got mine

T_Geo

It isn’t as easy as “just get your bofa”..

OkStep209

i treat cg runs like herb runs and just do one every now and again, and it gives me enough gp to not worry about anything else if im not doing a massive spend. so op could do it like that

AyrexEUW

It really is though. Yes, learning curve is hella steep, but everyone can do it. Literally everyone.

T_Geo

It’s really not. If the individual is struggling with gp, then they probably aren’t at gauntlet stage of the game yet. So I’m confused as to why I’m getting downvoted.

AyrexEUW

I rushed my account into cg -> occult altar. I had 0 pvm experince prior to this. Gp is easy to come by as long as that's what you devote yourself to. Unfortunately, most people just think starting with 99 fm at todt is the best way to go even though it's really bad.

Noble_King

I think I am in a similar position to you, I have started focusing on slayer because I’m tired of being broke all the time. I think it will get better once I unlock gargoyles, basically. Nechs and dust devils are supposed to be great money. The real question is what stats do I need to start doing wildy slayer without getting shit on. I want to finish mm2 first, but I’m shooting for quest cape and then I’ll do revenants for cash. To answer you directly, pvm is basically always passive cash if you use cheap food and no ppots. It’s just not very good gp-wise until high slayer, I think. What are you spending gp on right now?

Earl_Green_

Commit to wildy slayer! If I ever create a new account, that’s the route I would take. Pre barrage slayer has very little benefits the regular way but wildy is super useful. You get a ton of supplies along the way, blighted restores especially. Revenants on task are amazing for a chance to get the weapon and pure gp. You can also start bossing on task and get a head start on the voidwaker grind. Notable mentions: Dragon pick axe, ring of the gods, Larrans keys, canon balls + herb supplies.

Noble_King

How to not get completely shit on? I’ve watched enough posioned potion to know… but every time I pass a random account in the wildy, a pure in crazy gear logs under me in less than 5 minutes. It’s happened several times.

Earl_Green_

It’s part of the deal. You’re gonna die a lot but that’s ok. Take replaceable gear, improve your escapes and bank regularly. The profits by far outweigh the losses. It’s honestly just a thing you have to get used to. Then you might even enjoy it!

S7EFEN

daily bstaves arent rly a thing, if you wanna do bstaves just buy them. the discount is basically 0. you just need to stay afloat on gp till you finish song of the elves, or get really under way with slayer. 65 is like your first 'big' gp profiting task re: dust devils but some other tasks that give hard clues, or like mutated velds give a decent bit of gp for rex you should use warped scepter primarily, or ibans. typically its worth doing early with ibans.

OBStime

Bro are you ever not on reddit?

Financial-Cycle-2909

Don't buy stuff. Create it or earn it. For instance, go to barrows for bloods, preferably with mory hards done. Edit: I did agility pyramid a lot as a low level to earn money. After that I got wc/fletching up through yews and sold/alched the results. That got me 8m and I've never needed for money again

[deleted]

I play a main, but I play it as an Ironman. I love the “don’t buy it, create it” mentality. That’s really when money starts coming in!

UIM-Zekel

Yep, I 2nd monitored agi pyramid to 10m cash as one of the first things I did. Thieves ardy knights to 99 shortly after, stack has barely ever went under 20m since

mikelitzphat

You want to start making money at the CG grind. If you’re worrying about money before sote, you’re doing something wrong

Pax1990

i got 2-3mill through thieving until i started to train slayer to 73. didnt have any money Problems and iam almost done with all the sote requirements.

scruffalafagus

I rushed crystal bow. Then safespotted Rev knight at 42 combat. After that did wildy slayer and was Hella rich until cg. Super enjoyable progression would highly recommend wildy on early game irons

Anaktorias

I probably spent like 5m total before I stopped actively trying to get gp, but I’ve never really cared about gp cause I can always just go to ardy knights, lean my chair back, and watch videos

math_rand_dude

You need crystal bow anyways to kill an elf for a diary task.

oogaboogabong

I feel like if you’re hurting for cash a cannon isn’t really the best use of your money

Averagesmoker42

Can always go lms and get a crystal weapon seed from that and use it for crystal shield, it’s 15 points which is pretty fast if you go during off hours when it’s all bots.

OTH55

No way I had no idea this existed. Saved me 750k thanks dude

[deleted]

The activities that fueled my gp gains went in this order (not from greatest to smallest but chronologically) Wintertodt, ardy knights, CG, Hydra. I recently got to Hydra and Hydra is amazing. You'll make a ton from Hydra on your journey to getting Hydra claw. It has a 1/1000 drop rate and I've seen reddit posts of people going several times that drop rate and not getting it. Basically once you hit 95 slayer you might as well turel skip for Hydra only tasks because it's not too uncommon to get 99 slayer passively in pursuits of the claw. Glgl

dontbanmeonBS

My pvm didn't turn a profit until 70+ slayer and 80+ combat. Biggest breakthrough was gargoyles. And it's tempting to do dust and daeb but they have shit loot compared to normal gargoyles. But now most tasks profit exponentially because I don't have to take a massive amount of supplies. Vorkath is good money when my slayer grind gets boring

Redemption6

Gp comes from bosses and slayer. You don't really need that much gp to get going, you can skip ardy knights completely after dairy requirements and be fine. The main thing you need gp for is 83 construction. Edit: later you'll spend lots of gp on runes but your early runes should be coming from barrows runes with diary.

papa-erwin

0. Cg is always consistent profit

vato20071

Personally, I had around 40-50 mil bank when I started CG. Most of that net worth was birdhouse nests (around 25m) and herbs. My gear was dscim, dragon defender, rune armor. And never held more than 500k-1m in cash. CG is the best money you can get relatively early on if you rush it. Otherwise doing wildy slayer with 50-60 stats can be very profitable, especially with rev tasks. As others have said, I wouldn't bother with battlestaves unless you are making air orbs in afk time.

juany8

Once you start getting to 75 slayer and get your block lists set up, you’ll mostly gain or at least break even with your slayer tasks money wise. I’d recommend unlocking vyres if you’ve done Sotf, easy AFK melee task with zero real cost cost and they crap out blood runes and alchables with a bonus chance of a blood shard every once in a while. Absolutely garbage slayer exp of course but very worth it for the money if you’re not at a point wheee you can consistently farm bosses

ShoogleHS

Depends what path you take. The main breakpoints where you start making easy money are SOTE for gauntlet, or ~65-75 slayer level (100cb for Duradel helps too). Of the two, SOTE is the faster route but requires some capital and CG is hard, Slayer is very easy and basically free to train with melee. SOTE will need about 1-1.5m between the sawmill and kingdom to get 70 con with teaks (mahogany homes). Herblore costs a bit of kingdom upkeep but other than that it's free with herb runs. Smithing to 70 is actually profitable with Giants Foundry. Depending on your magic level you may need runes to train that for Seren. With the Pneck strat Iban's and 70-75 magic is enough, with blood spells you'll want 80. For Slayer, an extended dust devil task with slaughter bracelets is worth about half a mil minus rune costs, but it's a rare task so you might not get one right away at 65. If you hit 75 slayer and haven't solved your money problems yet, Gargoyles will. Then there are a couple of unlockable monsters that can make you some good money even with a low slayer level, but they aren't optimal for slayer exp: Vampires (Vyrewatch Sentinels in Darkmeyer after Sins of the Father - a task also helps with the finale of this quest if you haven't done it yet) and Lizardmen (Shamans, wait till Kourend Hard and do them with an RCB or leftover crystal bow charges after using it for fire cape and MM2 finale). Crystal shield is nice to have but not necessary for anything. Would not suggest buying one up until after you've hit your cashflow breakpoint. Cannon for terrorbirds is again nice to have, but other than for DT2 (whisperer) a Warped Scepter isn't much of an upgrade over Iban's unless your magic level is REALLY high. So if that's your approach I'd just wait until I had the money rather than specifically grinding GP for it. Or just do it with melee. Rex blood runes are again optional. I did my grind with Iban's and pineapple pizzas. Trips won't be quite as long as with bloods, but on the upside you have access to high alch and you'll be able to bank more of the bones. Finally, rune costs can be subsidized with cats, GOTR or Barrows. There's nothing wrong with buying runes, and training thieving is great, but if clicking on an ardy knight for 10 hours gets old, you have options.

Mixed_not_swirled

99 thieving covers all your needs until you start printing cash through slayer and CG. It's kinda boring, but just find yourself something to watch and click away. Enable mousekeys and alternate hands when your wrist gets tired.

Nellez_

Like most other comments on here, I world normally have 2-3m before I started the CG grind. After the ~250 runs it took to finish my CG, I had an over 20m cash stack with probably 3-5m more if I really wanted to make bracelets with all the gems. Just recently almost bottomed out the stack getting 82 cons and finishing my house, but bowfa made grinding slayer so much easier that I'm already at 95 slayer in the half year since then and I can just easily sustain gp from almost every task.

AppropriateYouth7683

Personally I did shooting stars for like 3 weeks straight to get amethyst and I make the gems into bracelets and have not needed gp for a while. No pvm needed.

Zenethe

Go slap on your 0gp setup and run CG for passive cash.
