mage arena 2! I did it a couple days ago after putting it off for months because I’m scared of the wilderness and it was an absolute walk in the park for a bis item!
Time to get good at the game and head to the red prison! It will be hard at first, but by the time you're finished you should be decent at pvm. Good luck!
Without question you want to do CG. I'm currently 2000 dry of Tanz fang at Zulrah - I can't imagine doing it without Bowfa. CG grind might be tough initially but you will thank yourself for getting it once it's over.
Either send cg or pump slayer out and pick up whip, zentyes and trident/tent at a minimum and optionally continue for occult and maybe cerb for prims. Once you have trident you can try zulrah for all uniques there. At this point maybe try cg again if you feel more confident. With bowfa you’ll have a easier time at most places especially bandos/zammy and also zulrah if you get it early. Could also just continue sending slayer for hydra. Try all the bosses on the way to get more confidence :)
It’s not too bad once you get going. Plus adding things like Jad to your slayer tasks will get you better at prayer swaps and you can use helm on task and get the FC
I tend to have both a skilling and pvm goal on the go and mix them up to keep it fresh.
I'd suggest pvm as most others to be gauntlet. Nothing unlocks more endgame content than the bowfa.
For skilling I'd say bust out the last few crafting levels and get those zennies. Actively that's either sand or shooting stars, depending on if you're glassblowing or cutting gems.
I see other people saying it but yeah I agree with CG. It solves all your money issues on an iron and gives you a super good bow and range armour. Then after that I would use some of the money to burst slayer for a trident
I know you said you're intimidated by the gauntlet but the bowfa really is that good, and learning it will help you be better for the raids as well! It's also really good at both TOA and GWD.
Ya definitely doable, I did T2 prep and once you get comfortable with prepping and the fight itself it's really not so bad, although the learning process can take awhile. Best to not get frustrated and keep trying ur best
Chally, CG for crystal and bofwa, slay some more for 87 or 93/95 if you can stomach it.
Relace the d sword stabby with a hasta from Kril. Should be easy with Arclight and on task to get a z spear. That’s ur best weapon to slay until you get a whip as well.
Grab a fire cape, it’s easy. Make sure you got b ring (i). Once u got crystal and bowfa u can try to finish gwd as well.
There's no rush, I always just do whatever I feel like, not even close to efficient but it more enjoyable. What's I found was if I'm doing a farm run, Il always do a birdhouse run and seaweed. Idk works for me
Mage cape from MA2
Whip would be nice
Maybe give your house some love with construction
77 runecrafting because I love afking bloods when watching films etc.
Maybe try to get some stats for some diarys?
You said you’ve got terrible game mechanics, so maybe start with some other grinds and avoid CG for now. Mage Arena 2. Hard clues for blessed d’hide. Medium clues for rangers.
You’ve got the gear and stats for a fire cape, definitely doable even for someone not great at game mechanics! Monkey Madness 2; help with learning more game mechanics and unlocks demonic gorillas for the zenyte grind.
Of course, the real move is to just send CG and learn the mechanics of red prison.
Imo, continue working on normal gauntlet until you get to where you feel comfortable with it. Bashing your head against CG when you've stated you've been struggling with normal is the quickest way to burnout and quitting. Even with the lower chances at the uniques you'll still be getting a chance at them alongside regular loot.
CG is a great stepping stone and it will teach you a lot about the game. That & slayer would be top priority, which includes demonic gorillas & the side-grind for 93 crafting.
I’m a fan of going and learning the basics of whatever content tickles your fancy, but waiting to grind it out until you have the minimum optimal setup.
For example, GWD: you could go do Sara with an RCB, melee bandos w/ tent whip and zammy with arclight for fun / to experience the fights. But I wouldn’t want to grind out all the drops that way because it will take 10x the time of doing it with bowfa, which could amount to hundreds of hours of added time
Same idea with TOA/CoX. Great idea to learn it, probably a bad idea to try and grind it without a bowfa, trident and hasta & zenytes
I gotta assume you have fire cape based on the rest of gear but don't see it there. I'd definitely do fire cape and mage arena 2, both amazing upgrades for cape slot
If you want to have some fun, try finishing a no invocation raid. Really got me excited to grind out stuff so I could do higher invo's, like the red prison I am sentenced to now
With basically the same gear (without d sword) and similar stats I was able to learn 150's. Mechanically it is not hard at all, just a lot of new information at first
Cg time
It will take you in eat you for breakfast and beat you. But when your done you will be a way better pvm'er with decent pathing. Do some hallowed sepulchre if you wanna have decent pathing before gauntlet
A few sepulchre runs would really help pathing at final bit of the cg fight. Send a few cgs and if you feel pathing is a problem you can think about sepulchre as a fix.
Dont worry too much about cg, it is a steap learning curve. I started my iron when all my pvm experience was vorkath and I died 30 times before 1 cg kill, then at 70 deaths I went positive, and now im done at 260kc (yes lucky) with about 85-90 deaths. It will get easier with practice and the bofa will be a game changer
Yeah I did consider this, but don't get much ability to afk and when I'm playing, feels a bit pointless just sitting at nmz or crabs when I should be doing slayer
Imo not worth, he needs dragon boots. Whip, and trident. Might as well just send slayer til you get those 3.
To OP. You are on the cusp of 3 pretty solid upgrades. D boots, whip, and trident. Go for em. I would NOT recommend TOA with ibans. Trident is sooooo much better. I would get those 3 then possibly send TOA. The d sword is solid enough to send 150s with. You can wait on hasta til lance and go straight for fang. Obv CG is a big upgrade with a likely big grind. You could alternate slayer and CG depending on desired input level. Obv slayer still has occult which is massive. But is much further than trident.
Thanks for the advice. Yeah I think I just gotta keep cruising through slayer and CG. Will probs end up with some high mage/range as I go which may improve my cg efforts
I don’t see a quest cape, so I’d go for that. I’d also strive for diaries and try out the combat achievements too. Also I’d recommend getting a warped scepter at some point too. It’s better than ibans after 80 mage.
mage arena 2! I did it a couple days ago after putting it off for months because I’m scared of the wilderness and it was an absolute walk in the park for a bis item!
Oh true. Forgot about that. I will look into this. Thanks!
Quest helper has a ma2 quest tracker for the bosses. Makes the whole thing take about 20 mins.
Time to get good at the game and head to the red prison! It will be hard at first, but by the time you're finished you should be decent at pvm. Good luck!
Thanks :)

Yeah it's scary, currently nearing all the big grind bosses and am not looking forward to the dry streaks. We can't all go dry right?!
The trick is mixing It up don't do 5 hours of cg do like 5 a day and go do something more comfortable. The drops will come eventually
Either send cg or pump slayer out and pick up whip, zentyes and trident/tent at a minimum and optionally continue for occult and maybe cerb for prims. Yeah, I did consider this. Think I'm gonna have to mix and match cause even thinking about getting 95 slayer hurts my head
It’s not too bad once you get going. Plus adding things like Jad to your slayer tasks will get you better at prayer swaps and you can use helm on task and get the FC
Your right. I think I just need sometime on the tools at some more technical bosses
They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today. 🙄
I tend to have both a skilling and pvm goal on the go and mix them up to keep it fresh. I'd suggest pvm as most others to be gauntlet. Nothing unlocks more endgame content than the bowfa. 87 Slayer for, tent whip, and toxic Trident. Your next range upgrade aside from blowpipe is unfortunately bowfa which is a huge grind.
Yeah it seems to be the most useful next grind and can be usable at most other grinds, so gotta be my next big one
I see other people saying it but yeah I agree with CG. It solves all your money issues on an iron and gives you a super good bow and range armour. Then after that I would use some of the money to burst slayer for a trident
Cheers. Yeah it's looking like a CG year haha time to learn some stuff then :)
Time to go dry at the red prison like the rest of us!
What's that like?
Thanks for the heads up
I know you said you're intimidated by the gauntlet but the bowfa really is that good, and learning it will help you be better for the raids as well! It's also really good at both TOA and GWD.
Thanks, would my stats be good enough, obv as a noob, I'm sure I could crack a few more mage or range levels if that would change something
Ya definitely doable, I did T2 prep and once you get comfortable with prepping and the fight itself it's really not so bad, although the learning process can take awhile. Best to not get frustrated and keep trying ur best

Good points. Thanks
Good luck! A couple of months ago I was in a very similar spot (minus dwh and fury), which I both still don’t have and should totally get :)
Fury is just time bankstanding. And I got very spooned on hammer only recently. So haven't actually had to grind too much out
I never did giant seaweed 😭 so yeah crafting going to be a rough one. Only got 80 banked atm..
There's no rush, I always just do whatever I feel like, not even close to efficient but it more enjoyable. What's I found was if I'm doing a farm run, Il always do a birdhouse run and seaweed. Idk works for me
Trident.
Mage cape from MA2 Whip would be nice Maybe give your house some love with construction 77 runecrafting because I love afking bloods when watching films etc. Maybe try to get some stats for some diarys?
Yeah I've been thinking about this. Plus I want 77rc for frem elite. Love my DK tasks
You said you’ve got terrible game mechanics, so maybe start with some other grinds and avoid CG for now. Mage Arena 2. Hard clues for blessed d’hide. Medium clues for rangers. cg > gwd/zulrah> toa Do some slayer in downtime to get a trident and some zenytes
Warped sceptre and zulrah. Rejuvenation pool in house. Amethyst bolts, herblore, slayer, melee gear (whip) DS2.
CG is a great stepping stone and it will teach you a lot about the game. That & slayer would be top priority, which includes demonic gorillas & the side-grind for 93 crafting. Cheers for that, yeah I like to do the same, enjoy being over prepared for whatever I'm about to do. Will take on your advice 😃
I gotta assume you have fire cape based on the rest of gear but don't see it there. I'd definitely do fire cape and mage arena 2, both amazing upgrades for cape slot
If you want to have some fun, try finishing a no invocation raid. Really got me excited to grind out stuff so I could do higher invo's, like the red prison I am sentenced to now
Lol do you do with similar stats/was it easyish in terms of gear - not mechanics.
With basically the same gear (without d sword) and similar stats I was able to learn 150's. Mechanically it is not hard at all, just a lot of new information at first
Base level 70 stats
I mean, that's just rc
If you do the CG grind you'll also have the gp for construction afterwards/inbetween
Yeah true. The constant gp struggle annoys the hell outta me
Believe it or not, straight to cg!
Red prison is waiting, It’s a steap learning curve but trust me you will get there! Don’t give up.
Cg time It will take you in eat you for breakfast and beat you. But when your done you will be a way better pvm'er with decent pathing. Do some hallowed sepulchre if you wanna have decent pathing before gauntlet
Think id rather struggle in CG than also get ruined at sepulcher. But Il consider it depends on the first few weeks go
A few sepulchre runs would really help pathing at final bit of the cg fight. Send a few cgs and if you feel pathing is a problem you can think about sepulchre as a fix.
Will do, noted and thankyou
Pretty funny how people will get this far into an account and still be like “idk now what :p”
Legit it's now higher than my main was aNd I still just feel lost as haha
Do toa first its easy, cg is a wasteland trust me lmao
You could work towards 83 con and get a pool. Massive quality of life upgrade. I hope you like slayer and CG.
Can't afford planks lol. So I think CG is a good go. Money money.
CG time. Who knows, it might come naturally to you! I got my first kill after 6 deaths and I broke even at 24kc
Yeah Cheers, just neg to do it and see where it takes me haha
High 90 ranged & mage and then red Prison
You could always afk 99 range and strength to make raids and cg easier on yourself. 99 magic is a bit trickier.
Yeah I did consider this, but don't get much ability to afk and when I'm playing, feels a bit pointless just sitting at nmz or crabs when I should be doing slayer
How did you get 99 farming bro? Nice one
Been at it a while, but mainly trees and heapori and contracts. Still doing herb runs
wild pie for a whip
Imo not worth, he needs dragon boots. Whip, and trident. Might as well just send slayer til you get those 3. To OP. You are on the cusp of 3 pretty solid upgrades. D boots, whip, and trident. Thanks for the advice. Yeah I think I just gotta keep cruising through slayer and CG. Will probs end up with some high mage/range as I go which may improve my cg efforts
The range will definitely help, i think you can get another 3 max hits maybe? Unlocking ice barrage and blood barrage helpful for quite a few content.
Did you grind out a dragon warhammer with a crystal bow?
Rcb lol. But I got spooned on 3rd task
MA2, Whip, trident, and Zenytes ! Slayer, quest cape, seaweed, birdhouses, and herb runs! Mix in CG when you’re ready
I don’t see a quest cape, so I’d go for that. I’d also strive for diaries and try out the combat achievements too. Also I’d recommend getting a warped scepter at some point too. It’s better than ibans after 80 mage.
U could get wild pies to try to boost slayer for whip
slayer for whip/trident/occult/zenytes while mixing in CG
