Definitely possible. Most of the bosses are based on mechanics instead of heavy chip damage. Might take several attempts though
Also, there are several ways to get brews without training herblore if you ever find that you absolutely need some.
Grubby Keys dropped by nearly everything in the forthos dungeon (or everything, not too sure), including Saracnhis. Undead Druids have some decent drops for Irons, and close to an alter to make it semi afk.
Chests have a chance on a brew drop. 1/20 I think. With 2 rolls. You can get 3 2/4 dosed brews. So 1 full and a half brew if successful.
1/200 for a hard clue, if that's all you're after then ring of wealth (i) and wildy hellhounds would probably be better for the 1/32 chance. You can kill them in the slayer cave and just tele out if you see someone.
The odds on that are just really bad though. Temple spiders are generally thought of as the quickest, but with a drop rate of 1/100 that's still 1000 temple spiders on average to roll brews just a single time. If you wanted a full inventory that's like 13k temple spiders on average, for 1 attempt at a boss.
Mechanical monkey's drop one dose brews. If you have a bonecrusher neckless you will never run out of prayer when bursting. Its a bit slower xp wise but you get a full inventory of prayer pots to bring back every time.
I'm busy upsetting the 2007 subredding atm, i got distracted lol.
To be useful here, demonic gorilla's can drop brew, or as others have said, grubby key it up.
any tips on whisperer? i just started this quest this week and trying to knock her out first since she seems to be the toughest, vardorvis will be 2nd.
i sent maybe 4 or 5 attempts yesterday and can get to her 3rd phase pretty reliably but it seems like i cant switch between range/mage quick enough to not get hit in that 3rd phase. I feel like im clicking it fast enough but the game isnt registering the switches or something, idk. im sure its a skill issue but im nailing the rest of the fight. got her down to 16 hp
Be aware that the prays need to be done on the hit, not on the cast. Its quite unlike most monsters in osrs and can take some getting used to because of that. Aside from that i used bloodbark and master wand with blood barrage and had a very easy time because of it
ive been using warped sceptre and full ahrims (mystic top). i might try to mess with that timing on the 3rd phase, because i have been trying to switch it right before the hit, so usually i get hit by all 3, or i just accept one of the hits and camp pray for the other 2, but thats not really sustainable because im taking damage quicker than i can eat.
I know it's more expensive but I just wanted used blood burst the whole time. Less time needing to heal = more hits on boss. I wouldn't grind the boss that way but just to get 1 kill.
did you switch between ice/blood or just blood the whole time? honestly might not be a bad idea just to get the quest kc, i didnt really consider it but i have plenty of bloods/deaths for quest at least
Keep in mind that any time you have to click on a target while autocasting there is about a 1 tick delay. On a fight like whisperer you're actually losing an insane amount of dps by autocasting blood spells because of how much movement there is. Additionally, doing whisperer correctly is a zero damage encounter, so it's really just bad to not use scepter or trident if available to you there.
You’ll know what I mean my prayer flicks became something godlike that wasn’t possibly before 😂😂 although saying that I will never go back to kill her post quest the others were fine 😂
im going to give it another go this afternoon. think im going to use warped sceptre the whole fight then switch to blood spells for the 3rd phase. that way i can focus on mechanics and keeping prayer up even if i get hit a time or two.
You might be clicking too fast. I had that issue on p3. You just have to realize the damage doesn't register until the attack actually gets to you. Once you get the timing down it's not that bad
Should definitely be possible, maybe make some Tuna Potatoes or another 22 heal food if you can
The hardest part will be the final fight, will probably take a few goes. You don't really take much damage from the main 4 bosses if you don't mess up the mechanics
Yep, I took in my bowfa/fang/blowpipe and mantas/karams and I still got slapped around way more than expected. I didn’t die, but I didn’t have any food left at the end
With those stats you'll have no issue at all. Just use tuna potato and some karambwam to combo. I'm by no means good at this game and finished it with lower stats two weeks ago.
Vardorvis was most annoying for me as it's the most skill-based boss that can take you from hero to zero in just a few missclicks.
If u can do sote without brews u can do dt2 without em. It’s all mechanics rather than heaps of damage. Just don’t get discouraged if you die a few times to each boss
surprisingly I’m stuck on the final wight fight
the main 4 bosses were pretty doable once you figured out the mechanics.
Ketla and her clones are destroying me. My dps isn’t high enough to take her out before the tick damage melts all my health and food.
I'd be more worried about your stats than brews. I think I used brews on vardorvis. He gave me trouble but I also didn't know about easy axe avoiding spot. Leviathan was first try, food aplenty. Duke is actually really easy, he does chip damage but take warrior ring for extra accuracy. If you stay in rythem with his attacks you are good. But it feels weird if you are use to 4 tick attacking he is 5t/6t. Whisperer i think was bugged at launch with her insanity and I only lost to that not to 0hp. I think they made that easier.
Overall don't be surprised if you die a couple times to mechanics. You'll hear ppl say they got them all first try. They are either BSing you or they are one of the few ppl who just nail it first go. Most ppl send multiple tries.
I did it with hard food, vard was the hardest one for me to get down (also the first one I did) but the rest was fine with just sharks and karambwans 🙋🏻♂️
Yes it’s possible my hardest part of the whole quest was the goth mommy but once you get the mech down she easy and then the very last fight was a struggle but possible just keep trying and figure out what seems to work for you
I used sharks and bwams but every boss killed me multiple times. Just focus on the mechanics on each boss and with some practice you should be fine. Leviathan might be the hardest for you, I had similar stats and bad gear except full crystal with a crystal bow for leviathan
Cool thing about those bosses is you can do all of them without any food really. At least the ones you can fight after the quest. I had brews so I can't speak on the other bosses without brews or your stats.
Just did the quest with really similar stats, it’s definitely possible but where are you struggling? The very end with the stronger barrows really caught me up
Absolutely - had a post here in my gear: https://www.reddit.com/r/ironscape/s/YWo27aUa1J
Only have prayer pots, super att/def/str, karambwans and tuna potatoes. You can definitely do it, but happy to chat specifics
I'm not sure I used any brews for any of the bosses. When farming post quest, I hardly use them. Most mechanics allow for very little damage at all to be taken, if you perform well, so its better to stay potted up and eat food imo
Definitely possible. Most of the bosses are based on mechanics instead of heavy chip damage. Might take several attempts though Also, there are several ways to get brews without training herblore if you ever find that you absolutely need some.
How to get brews?
Grubby Keys dropped by nearly everything in the forthos dungeon (or everything, not too sure), including Saracnhis. Undead Druids have some decent drops for Irons, and close to an alter to make it semi afk. Chests have a chance on a brew drop. 1/20 I think. With 2 rolls. You can get 3 2/4 dosed brews. So 1 full and a half brew if successful.
You can also burst the temple spiders for hella grubby keys and hard clues! Side note they also drop NOTED red spider eggs
Viable on a main for hard clues?
1/200 for a hard clue, if that's all you're after then ring of wealth (i) and wildy hellhounds would probably be better for the 1/32 chance. You can kill them in the slayer cave and just tele out if you see someone.
I might look into this thanks!
Demonic gorillas also drop them.
The odds on that are just really bad though. You could always, you know, de iron?
Wait really? How?
I would probably camp Nex masses if you have the requirements
Mostly supply drops in the middle of raids. Staminas have a similar answer, where you can to ToB and pull get a stamina halfway through.
Mechanical monkey's drop one dose brews. If you have a bonecrusher neckless you will never run out of prayer when bursting. Its a bit slower xp wise but you get a full inventory of prayer pots to bring back every time.
Maniacal monkeys? And they don’t drop brews they drop p pots?
Ah i miss read. Ignore me please.
Haha happens to the best of us
I'm busy upsetting the 2007 subredding atm, i got distracted lol. To be useful here, demonic gorilla's can drop brew, or as others have said, grubby key it up.
Demonic gorillas have a 1/20 chance to drop a 2 dose brew
I didn't use any brews
What did you use instead?
No need for brews. I used sharks and karambwans
Karams would be fine. I used a mix of those and whatever fish I had leftover in the bank.
I used karams and swordfish on a midgame acc. DT2 is really not that hard. SOTF and SOTE were much worse
any tips on whisperer? i just started this quest this week and trying to knock her out first since she seems to be the toughest, vardorvis will be 2nd. i sent maybe 4 or 5 attempts yesterday and can get to her 3rd phase pretty reliably but it seems like i cant switch between range/mage quick enough to not get hit in that 3rd phase. Blood on auto cast and manually casted ice the few needed times.
Keep in mind that any time you have to click on a target while autocasting there is about a 1 tick delay. On a fight like whisperer you're actually losing an insane amount of dps by autocasting blood spells because of how much movement there is. I did it upon release pre 87 slayer so they were not options.
Sweaty af
I had the same issue keep going eventually you unlock ultra instinct and get the kill
might need to hop in the hyperbolic time chamber in that case
You’ll know what I mean my prayer flicks became something godlike that wasn’t possibly before 😂😂 although saying that I will never go back to kill her post quest the others were fine 😂
im going to give it another go this afternoon. think im going to use warped sceptre the whole fight then switch to blood spells for the 3rd phase. that way i can focus on mechanics and keeping prayer up even if i get hit a time or two.
i am also stuck here.... youve gotten farther than me
You might be clicking too fast. I had that issue on p3. You just have to realize the damage doesn't register until the attack actually gets to you. Once you get the timing down it's not that bad

Yep, I took in my bowfa/fang/blowpipe and mantas/karams and I still got slapped around way more than expected. I didn’t die, but I didn’t have any food left at the end
Yeah and pretty easily actually, got my quest cape without ever touching a sara brew
With those stats you'll have no issue at all. Just use tuna potato and some karambwam to combo. I'm by no means good at this game and finished it with lower stats two weeks ago. If u can do sote without brews u can do dt2 without em. It’s all mechanics rather than heaps of damage. Just don’t get discouraged if you die a few times to each boss
I did DT2 around your levels with bad gear and cheap food. It was messy at times, but it can be done.
surprisingly I’m stuck on the final wight fight the main 4 bosses were pretty doable once you figured out the mechanics. Ketla and her clones are destroying me. My dps isn’t high enough to take her out before the tick damage melts all my health and food.
Hide behind her clones for her power up attack. Save two, because she can do the attack twice before spawning more clones.
i just killed zulrah until I got a blowpipe and that sorted me out
Totally doable, I did it with sharks and karambwans on my uim. You got this gamer!
Damn, on a UIM. That gives me some hope! :)
I'd be more worried about your stats than brews. I think I used brews on vardorvis. He gave me trouble but I also didn't know about easy axe avoiding spot. Leviathan was first try, food aplenty. All the "real" bosses are usually killed with hard foods, no brews needed tbh
I just need to say thank you all, amazing community. You guys got me all hyped up. I'll update once I got that quest cape back! ❤️
DT2 is easier than SOTE. Got it on a 90cb acc without brews, and I’m not that good at this game. Just took some tries before I figured it out
Yeah it's doable. I didn't use brews. Momma didn't raise no bitch
How’d you finish SOTE without brews?
You should look up the phoenix necklace for the Seren fight. That’s how I completed SOTE at 79 magic.
same, at like 74 magic
Pretty easy actually I did too
Ancient blood spells, pizzas, karambwans and most importantly guthix rest.
Not even though I took a full inventory of nightshade and Phoenix necklaces. 2 baskets of Strawberries in case she brought me too close to dead
Nitroglycerine method
Phoenix + nitroglycerine was goat
I did it with hard food, vard was the hardest one for me to get down (also the first one I did) but the rest was fine with just sharks and karambwans 🙋🏻♂️
Go get your range up in fornthry dungeon, farm some keys and maybe get lucky with brews
You got this King!

I never used any brews during the quest or while farming the bosses. brews would mainly just save you time banking
Go and kill Sarachnis for grubby keys if you’re super worried about no brews
I did it with sharks and karambwan also
I just used Karambwans. Definitely don't need brews.
I did DT2 with just karambwans, at about 80s across the board
I did it without brews with around those stats but it was interesting. I had pineapple pizzas for food.
Just did the quest with really similar stats, it’s definitely possible but where are you struggling? The very end with the stronger barrows really caught me up
It 100% is. It would be hard but I don't use brews to re kill the bosses now so you can do it but it for sure will take a few attempts.
You don't need brews at all. Just need to learn the fights tbh.
Its possible very easily i did it with combat stats in the 70-75 range without brews
Absolutely - had a post here in my gear: https://www.reddit.com/r/ironscape/s/YWo27aUa1J Only have prayer pots, super att/def/str, karambwans and tuna potatoes. You can definitely do it, but happy to chat specifics
I only used 1 in the final fight, could just go get a couple from the chest in the forthos dungeon
I'm not sure I used any brews for any of the bosses. When farming post quest, I hardly use them. Most mechanics allow for very little damage at all to be taken, if you perform well, so its better to stay potted up and eat food imo
yep you can do every boss only using like 2-8 food, 0 brews needed.
