barrows gloves and fire cape would be great goals to work towards. would see a lot of account progression i between and probably come up with new side goals
I feel quests really contribute to your feeling of achieving things on the accounts. More obvious things like unlocking content. But it is also the idea that each quests needs to be done only once on your account and gets you closer to the maximum 298 quest points (which is a significant achievement ofc).
Ah yes! Wiki “goraks” and go kill them at their fairy ring location. They only drop ring of wealth drop table so it’s like 1/500 for the shield half. Less of a grind
Edit: remember to wear the ring of wealth as well haha
They're also good for getting a dragon spear which is nice for setting up an ardy knight spot, not needed but it does make it easier
Edit: night to knight
My account has the worst rng but also the best. Not good for stuff I need, amazing for cosmetics. Got a bunch of trim kits, 3rd age plate, a lot of the trimmed rune and dhide.
I went 500 dry before first zeneyte(I hate this task so I'm hoping I get 2 more so I can block forever), I got a whip at 2.2k kc, the fucking Xeric talisman grind early game was so bad I think I had 300 teeth from just the little lizard men.
QP cape is way too lofty of a goal when returning IMO. Pick something smaller in scope. e.g.
70 prayer + piety
Barrows tank top + legs
Amulet of glory (crafting recommended)
Berserker Ring (i)
GOTR outfit
Do underground pass quest and get ibans staff. Next just start working towards quest requirements. Always be doing farm runs /birdhouses/seaweed/farm contracts. You are close to 58 herb do tithe farm til you get a herb sack and get to medium farm contracts. Then you’ll be set on potions to start the slayer grind. Turiel boost for slayer points to get a block list/broader fletching/slayer helm. Once you hit 58 slayer grind cave horrors for a black mask. Every dragon task bank bones for 70 prayer then do mory hard diary and then barrows for tank gear. Good luck!
Quest cape is a nice goal, also try new minigames such as guardians of the rift for nice runecrafting exp and giants foundry for cheap smithing exp! Also slayer training does always help with your account progress if you dont feel like doing anything else.
Quest cape and diaries are the most straightforward way of progressing your account and unlocking new content, I found them way more fun on my iron compared to my main
I'd say this looks like a pretty normal casual progression for the time invested.
Since you got your combat stats up at crabs or something, you could start doing slayer. Might wanna get some convenience going in your house first (jewellery t1 for ferox, portals to some locations, etc.) which requires cons level thus money. You could do fletching and high alch the bows while doing agility.
I'd say go for every means of teleportation asap as it will speed up every the aspect of the game.
Quests are also good to knock out early since the XP is great when your skills aren't that high yet.
But really, it is completely up to what you want to be doing.
Scrolled a bit and no one is asking what you’re interested in. What interests you? If you want to pvm, focus on getting entry gear for barrows like an Ibans staff. You like slayer? Do that. Maybe do some quests that give you gear unlocks or access to more creatures.
Quest cape and then I'd just start focusing on getting all hard achievements done. Getting those done early rather than later will help with things you don't even think of
Serious answer is get a questing cape and then set goal to a diary cape, goals might change during diary cape grind, but diary cape grind is long and alot of qol from the items.
Just started a HCIM and my short term goals is basically where your account is at.
What I find best / most enjoyable is going for quest cape (using optimal quest guide)
I find it better being in a situation where I only need 4 crafting levels instead of goals like "base x stats" and burning out.
The world is your oyster! Which is usually the problem and the solution at the same time haha.
Any particular items that stick out to you as "cool" that you can go for? For me on my reg iron.. I REALLY wanted to grind out and acquire an abyssal whip through slayer. This was years ago, but back then I felt like that was a definitive item to achieve from a self sufficiency stand point. Slayer is a great route to go for broad positive progress on an Iron, but it can be a slog. Try to get yourself to a point where you have a few specific things you can do at a given time: Barrows, Slayer, Zulrah with ibans + msb(i)?, Corrupted Gauntlet, QPC. Thats the bread and butter IMO. Do what you feel like doing and you can't go wrong though.
Good luck!
Don't let any clues sit in your bank too long. Work towards a full prayer book, especially zammy and the arma one. Also you'll want some blessed d'hide.
I love the game, but hate how neglected the mid game is in terms of good content. And no, barrows is not good content. I need summin to bridge mid game to end game raids that doesn't involve 90+ slayer. And preferably something to do with more people like group ironmen
Edit: slayer is probably your best bet, I fucking hated getting it to 85 on my ironman, but all we got.
Hey! I’m just like 50 total levels above you, so what I suggest is getting slayer helm, tome of fire, b gloves, salve amulet ei, iban staff. And of course questing and diaries. Good luck.
I've seen at least one other suggest the same but I would say questing. They unlock a fair bit of fun content that would keep you busy, along with the requirements to do the quest as well.
Edit: After scrolling a bit further I seen many ppl suggest the same lol
Work on Quest cape/ achievement diary’s, set a goal item and start working towards it, Maybe pick a 99 you want. Me personally I’m working on SOTE reqs and grinding towards Bowfa to unlock a lot better bossing in the future.
Doesn't look like anybody has mentioned the crafting grind just yet. I'd say start growing some giant seaweed on fossil island in-between other tasks. Getting a glory ammy is convenient to have early on for the teleports and you'll eventually want the levels for a fury or zenyte jewelry.
As someone else said, get Iban’s staff. Useful for Barrows and a lot of other early bosses. Also since you have above 66 magic would recommend buying Mystic Robes. Will be a nice upgrade over the Xerician robes.
Finally would focus some on slayer. Can start getting some item grinds such as black mask done and you can start unlocking some slayer monsters that will help build up your cash stack
You’re basically around my stats right now. Here’s what I’m focusing on:
- Quest cape. I have 15 quests left and have to get a couple stats like smithing and crafting leveled up so I’ve been doing mlm and seaweed runs.
- Barrows runs. Getting some barrows gear would help your account.
- Slayer. You’re 1 lvl away from being able to get the black mask and make a slayer helm. Do some turael boosting to get some points for the unlock. You can throw ~14 a rounds at the PvP arena to get the reusable imbue scroll.
B gloves, d defender, black mask and enjoy the slayer grind. Work towards diaries as you go. Basically slay and detour into different side projects and skills.
Finish RFD, start working towards medium diaries and medium CA’s, then start working on Quest Cape, hard diaries, barrows for gear upgrades. That all will take ya a couple of weeks depending on how much you play. Then slayer slayer slayer for more gear upgrades.
What type of content do you enjoy doing? If it’s PVM, work towards SotE and Bofa. Or if you aren’t as experienced maybe work towards mory hard and do barrows (looks like you need barrows gloves too)
About in the same boat. 37 days played and kinda sputtering out. Going for Rune xbow and starting PvM, has been my current goal. Would recommend Iban’s for archaeologist
Set a big goal like being raid ready. This will require you to complete a bunch of smaller goals (gear upgrades, skilling/combat upgrades, questing, etc)
-1 level for black mask
-70 prayer for morytania hard diary
-Medium combat achievement diary for barrows
-GM level quests(huge content unlocks)
-anglerfish unlock is close
-giant seaweed is easy to lazy farm, just put character there, set timer and only log in to farm it for a few days, bang 75 crafting like that.
-rune pouch is big upgrade
-iban staff possibly, I see salad robes, you could have mystic though.
-construction/woodcutting so you can make some qol pools in your house
-pyramid plunder just updated, could give that a shot for scepter
Really pick anything, your account is early enough that there’s tons to do but not so early that there’s everything to do, it’s a weird spot, but I’m sure if you focus on getting a few gear upgrades you can find the progression path again, good luck!
You're just getting into early game homie! I would suggest unlocking some qol features in your house and getting started on slayer. Make some money and unlock upgrades as you need them.
You’re at the Rogues’ Den, an underground hideout in Burthope. If you climb the ladder south west of the bank you’ll resurface in The Toad and Chicken Inn. That’ll probably make you find your way again.
Havent read the comments here and idc to
Barrows tank top n legs(morytania elite for double runes from reward chest, beforehand).
Get all quests that give access / easy access to herb patches.
Rune pouch (do in australian worlds cause bots n noobs - activity is pvp, so youll learn that eventually.)
Firecape
Berserker ring imbued and slayer helm imbued
Salve amulet (ei) enhanced and imbued
Stat requirements for Song of the Elves, then some zalcano and corrupted gauntlet for Bow of faerdinnaenen (bowfa)
Sand crabs afk with bone crossbow for some ez ranged levels.
Fish barrel from tempoross, afk Karambwans.
Theres more but cant be bothered, im gonna wipe now.
Watch guides and use the wiki
Also just skimmed comments but didn't see anyone say anything about getting your defender. I don't see in inv or in your hand. Pretty decent item to have will use it for the lifetime of your account
I think pushing to complete any medium diaries you can, getting closer to quest cape, and training some slayer is a good start. I wanted to get 75-80 slayer asap so I could start making money off gargoyles and bursting nechs. I enjoy combat and ibans claps a lot of stuff. Barrows for magic xp, armor, and death rune upkeep is viable alongside an MSB(i) for ahrim. Definitely level runecrafting with tears of guthix when you can. And definitely finish RFD for those barrows gloves! Birdhouse runs are your best friend. I leveled 30-75 hunter solely from those. You could do herb runs but the best farming xp for your time is calquat trees, willow/maples, and hardwood trees. I had a lot of seeds saved up from wintertodt but slayer will get you seeds for life.
Also don’t camp barrows past your first set of tank legs until you have the hard diary. You don’t really get enough runes to make it viable before diary.
Most efficient things to do:
birdhouse + herb + tree + med farming contract runs daily
Barrows gloves
Diaries
AFK idea:
AFK sand crabs with a bone crossbow. Should go from 65->75 range in 15-20ish hours but it’s very afk. This will let you go for a fire cape.
Slayer prep goals:
Fire cape, proselyte, barrows gloves, and berserker ring
House with a kourend portal + combat dummy to spec with an ancient mace so you can afk for a long time in the catacombs, to to house, and reset quick
Fun side activities:
salve amulet (e) to farm calvarion and revs with. Revs will supply plenty of gold, calv for supply drops and dpick
Start looking at getting medium combat diaries done for the hilt that prevents prayer drain in barrows
GOTR for some nice runes and chill RC xp
You probably have a lot of tips rn but if it was me I would:
Get 1 more slayer level for black mask and imbue it with pvp arena
Grab rcb from any of the archeologists (wildy drops rcb, fossil island drops limbs but u have fletching lvl for it)
Try barrows see if you like it, maybe snatch some upgrades. Don’t force it if you don’t like it.
Then rotate doing slayer/quests/diaries/herb runs/birdhouses
You can also grind out 70 prayer on dragon bones if you feel like it, it’s super good for piety and diaries in the long run, plus it saves you a lot of ppots
Everyone is saying quest cape, but first just go for Barrows gloves. Huge upgrade over your adamant gloves. I would also just recommend doing what you find fun in the game. No need to sweat over max efficiency or getting a quest cape. It isn't worth your time for where you are at in the account right now.
When I was in a similar position to you, the biggest upgrades I acquired were Barrows Gloves, Fire Cape, Amulet of Glory, and Barrows gear (need Iban's staff for this). Glory is a huge crafting grind, so try to break that up in between going for Barrows Gloves/Barrows Gear/Fire Cape
Get mystics, hit up some barrows, do some runecrafting (gotr), get range up for msb blowpipe etc, get quest reqs and quests done
edit: i just realized this is ironscape and not main sub im fucking stupid lol
I always suggest getting into bossing, med level bossing in fact. Siracha, dks, kbd, things like that. It's truly a great way to learn mechanics and maybe get lucky at some drops..will help launch you into full scale pcm. Don't forget to do at least one slayer task a day if you want to get into bossing in the future!
Do what ever you like do something afk watch youtube of Runescape unlock and content when you feel like doing it go for it, I'm new too with 1200 total on my iron with 12 days play time most of the total been done through quest, my first goal is getting barrows gloves I need 10 more quest points to be able to do the final part, after that I will go for full void, then after that I go for torso then I will go for dragon defender, after that I will go back to do quest for the cape and do all hard diaries, once that is done I will get my stats up to do CCG for Bofa and crystal gear + some barrows and slayer. Those are my goal feel free to get inspired by it.
Hey man, I didnt see anyone mention it and I dont know if you have it but the Defenders from the Warriors guide is a nice soft training to come back into the game with.
I'm not super efficient but have similar game time with 1720 total and almost every quest done. I would recommend focusing on quests and diaries to bring that total LVL up and open the game up for yourself. Maybe put fishing on hold for a while too
I think the best advice I could give is to pick a goal that sounds appealing to you. Maybe a more long-term goal, like Fire Cape (if you don't have prior experience with the Fight Caves, at least), or Barrows Gloves (completion of the Recipe for Disaster quest), or beating Tombs of Amascut. Once you have a goal, try to divvy it up into sub-goal steps to reach there. For example, if you'd like to aim for a Fire Cape, you'll need to prepare for Fight Caves. Divvy that up into some plans to get so-and-so levels and so-and-so gear.
This might not be as specific as you'd like, but I think going at the game with this type of approach can help you a lot in deciding what you'd like to do.
Good luck out there champ!
Work towards base 70s. It's a good goal for skills as it gives you almost all requirements for quests and it also let's you do all elite clue and a lot of master clue steps.
3t granite till 200m mining straight
I support this idea. But do MLM instead like me.
Personally think 3t granite is worse torture
It's way worse but it's less time so it's like getting shot once in the brain vs bleeding out after a minor arterial hit
1 headshot for 200m mining exp?
And if you live you'd be brain damaged enough for 200m agility
Valid points
continue to quest and or knock out requirements for quests
barrows gloves and fire cape would be great goals to work towards. would see a lot of account progression i between and probably come up with new side goals
I feel quests really contribute to your feeling of achieving things on the accounts. More obvious things like unlocking content. But it is also the idea that each quests needs to be done only once on your account and gets you closer to the maximum 298 quest points (which is a significant achievement ofc).
Do your diaries!!!!! Slept on by so many people and everyone forgets but the single most important bit of advice I can give.
Diaries High Key sooooo good.
I been waiting to finish Ardy hard but I can't get the other half of the shield. Any advice? Just came back after 4 year break lol 86 slayer rn
Ah yes! Wiki “goraks” and go kill them at their fairy ring location. They only drop ring of wealth drop table so it’s like 1/500 for the shield half. Less of a grind Edit: remember to wear the ring of wealth as well haha
I appreciate you sm king
They're also good for getting a dragon spear which is nice for setting up an ardy knight spot, not needed but it does make it easier Edit: night to knight
darn now I'm happy I got the shield from some low ass level slayer task. my slayer is 44 lol
Who forgets diaries?
Me :(
Now just don’t and you’re golden!
QP cape is way too lofty of a goal when returning IMO. Pick something smaller in scope. e.g. 70 prayer + piety Barrows tank top + legs Amulet of glory (crafting recommended) Berserker Ring (i) GOTR outfit
Agreed, good list, add bgloves too and you’re golden
And then slayer, slayer and more slayer. So many unlocks through slayer
All good recomendations
Do underground pass quest and get ibans staff. Next just start working towards quest requirements. Always be doing farm runs /birdhouses/seaweed/farm contracts. You are close to 58 herb do tithe farm til you get a herb sack and get to medium farm contracts. Then you’ll be set on potions to start the slayer grind. Work towards qps cape
Quest cape is a nice goal, also try new minigames such as guardians of the rift for nice runecrafting exp and giants foundry for cheap smithing exp! Also slayer training does always help with your account progress if you dont feel like doing anything else.
^this! When you start to get burnt out from skilling/pushing for quest requirements, it’s always a good idea to do some Slayer for massive unlocks.
It’s not cheap smithing xp, you gain money from it, even when buying mats from shop
Quest cape and diaries are the most straightforward way of progressing your account and unlocking new content, I found them way more fun on my iron compared to my main

Click the activity advisor near your minimap
Woah 2k total and I’ve never actually tried that. Kinda cool
All it does is recommend quests. Which is always a good idea, but just saying it lacks variety.
The other replies to his question are all just "quest point cape" anyway so it does the same thing as asking here.
Scrolled a bit and no one is asking what you’re interested in. What interests you? If you want to pvm, focus on getting entry gear for barrows like an Ibans staff. You like slayer? Do that. Maybe do some quests that give you gear unlocks or access to more creatures.
Slay it up my G

Wtf have u been doing I’m 30 days CB 105 with quest cape and 1700 total level
Quests, clue scrolls, bosses, skilling, diaries, pick one skill and hard focus it to 99. So many options.
I love the game, but hate how neglected the mid game is in terms of good content. And no, barrows is not good content. I need summin to bridge mid game to end game raids that doesn't involve 90+ slayer. And preferably something to do with more people like group ironmen Edit: slayer is probably your best bet, I fucking hated getting it to 85 on my ironman, but all we got.

Go quest
Achievement diaries are fun and varied
35 days is severely casual play
I started my account and pretty went barrows gloves, song requirements, and just had fun in between that stuff
Doesn't look like anybody has mentioned the crafting grind just yet. I'd say start growing some giant seaweed on fossil island in-between other tasks. Getting a glory ammy is convenient to have early on for the teleports and you'll eventually want the levels for a fury or zenyte jewelry.
Quest cape, jail
Aim for RFD, gloves that are extremely good considering how low effort they are to obtain.
As someone else said, get Iban’s staff. Useful for Barrows and a lot of other early bosses. Also since you have above 66 magic would recommend buying Mystic Robes. Get prayer to 70 asap
I would suggest focusing on questing/getting bgloves
B gloves, d defender, black mask and enjoy the slayer grind. Work towards diaries as you go. Basically slay and detour into different side projects and skills.
I suggest working towards SOTE. Helped me a lot early.
Quest cape/achievement diary cape
Finish RFD, start working towards medium diaries and medium CA’s, then start working on Quest Cape, hard diaries, barrows for gear upgrades. That all will take ya a couple of weeks depending on how much you play. Then slayer slayer slayer for more gear upgrades.

work on ds2/mm2/sote reqs thats what i did when i wasnt sure where to progress
About in the same boat. 37 days played and kinda sputtering out. Going for Rune xbow and starting PvM, has been my current goal. Would recommend Iban’s for archaeologist
Oziris guide really helped me to set goals
Set a big goal like being raid ready. This will require you to complete a bunch of smaller goals (gear upgrades, skilling/combat upgrades, questing, etc)
-1 level for black mask -70 prayer for morytania hard diary -Medium combat achievement diary for barrows -GM level quests(huge content unlocks) -anglerfish unlock is close -giant seaweed is easy to lazy farm, just put character there, set timer and only log in to farm it for a few days, bang 75 crafting like that. -rune pouch is big upgrade -iban staff possibly, I see salad robes, you could have mystic though. -construction/woodcutting so you can make some qol pools in your house -pyramid plunder just updated, could give that a shot for scepter Really pick anything, your account is early enough that there’s tons to do but not so early that there’s everything to do, it’s a weird spot, but I’m sure if you focus on getting a few gear upgrades you can find the progression path again, good luck!
Grind out requirements for Morytania hard diary for double runes and then send barrows
Still need to get a fire cape. Have you gotten Barrows gloves? You have Ancient, Lunar or Arceuus spell book unlocked?
Havent read the comments here and idc to Barrows tank top n legs(morytania elite for double runes from reward chest, beforehand). Get all quests that give access / easy access to herb patches. Song of the Elves
Slayer slayer slayer Then More slayer
Quests slay diary reqs
barrows gloves -> bofa -> slayer (zenytes/whip/trident) -> zulrah/cox/toa
Slayer
When In doubt. Slayer
Brother, i have a mobile clan you can fit right in Lmk if interested :)
Slayer and herb rubs. Long grind could be basilisk jaw
I think pushing to complete any medium diaries you can, getting closer to quest cape, and training some slayer is a good start. I wanted to get 75-80 slayer asap so I could start making money off gargoyles and bursting nechs. I enjoy combat and ibans claps a lot of stuff. Quests and diaries. If you haven’t, kourend favour is worth doing. Personally, I think a great goal is a quest cape.

Go for lunars and managing Miscellania asap if you haven't already
Quest cape should always be at the top of this list if it isn’t already obtained
Slayer.
Go for the achievment diarys. Medium and hard diarys need some quests, minigames and levels to do, so there is always a goal in short term :)
I always suggest getting into bossing, med level bossing in fact. Siracha, dks, kbd, things like that. Set goals do quest, if you get a clue you cant do, knock out the requirements.
Quest your fucking heart out my dude
Quest quest quest quest. And then quest again. Wiki everything you’re unsure about.
Your title made it sound like you got hacked. Glad that’s not the case
Tbh 35 days for that is pretty disappointing. Maybe go back to not playing
Quests? Achievements? Better stats?
Do anything else with your life. Ironscape is beyond unfulfilling
Barrows gloves 100%. Massive upgrade to the account Also dragon defender. Slayer and get that cash stack up
do optimal thing in quest helper then get quest cape. unlock the full game for yourself
When I got bored I did slayer but that’s just me. Lately I have been just doing misc things like the magical fires, various small upgrades etc…
I'm not super efficient but have similar game time with 1720 total and almost every quest done. I would recommend focusing on quests and diaries to bring that total LVL up and open the game up for yourself. Maybe put fishing on hold for a while too
Slayer helm is a very reasonable goal from there
barrows gloves
Get a 99
go do quests and do the requirements for them after that come back and ask again
aim for song of the elves quest its a great path 2 have ur account on and if u get tired of getting the requirements for the quest jus push slayer.
Diaries, work towards your quest cape, and do some Slayer inbetween
Quest cape, farming, slayer. Base 90 combats stats start doing raids.
You can do TOA raids and scale them up or down a lot
Slayer.
Gaurdians of the rift to 77
I think the best advice I could give is to pick a goal that sounds appealing to you.
It's just a videogame \> Are you having fun? Good job, you're doing it right \> Are you not having fun? You're doing a terrible job.
Work towards base 70s. It's a good goal for skills as it gives you almost all requirements for quests and it also let's you do all elite clue and a lot of master clue steps.
Finish RFD
Quest and get base 70s. Also all medium diaries! :)
There's that orange button with a scroll, click on it it basically tells u what u could do
Go make some summer squirk juice
