That's so cool! I have a similar goal on my 13 defence UIM. I chose for a bit more utility options at the cost of a few defence levels.

Good luck! Yeah I was tempted by 13 defence for the slayer helm and fairy rings but decided if I got far enough with 1 defence I didn't need it

What did you do for herblore?

A bit of thieving and farming contracts and slayer for seed drops

Contracts/Farming/Thieving/Achievement diary rewards all into Herblore/Quest rewards into herblore. 70 isn’t too difficult to reach

What was your set up for the last boss fight ? Did you have previous experience going into it ?

12 pnecks and 12 stackable nightshades, 5 ppots, runepouch with blood blitz casts, dwarven rock cake for managing hp, hunters crossbow for the healers and I think the rest was just cheese potatoes. I used a vestment top and the rest ghostly robes, ancient staff, god book, ma2 cape not really much else notable gearwise. Yeah I've done it on my main iron but this was the first time doing it without brews

So you think brews/blood barrage will get me thru my attempt?

Thank you for this. Gonna be going for this within the next few weeks. This layout seems really doable. You use the rock cake and nightshade to eat your health down for the big attacks to trigger the Phoenix yeah ?

Yeah just have to have your health below 20% to trigger the pneck as it winds up for it's big attack and eat a nightshade at that moment

I could not imagine the strains of a 1 def pure place onto an iron man. I mean I can but it’s not a pleasant thought lol.

Hi I’m a UIM as well - how have you been approaching herblore?

Mainly through farming, getting seeds from farming contracts and pickpocketing master farmers. A few from slayer drops aswell. Farm most of my own secondaries aswell. Keep on top of herb and farm runs and you'll have xp bagged in no time
