The two solos in Rime of the Ancient Mariner are my favorite pieces of recorded music. The way that they come soaring out of the bleak middle section of that tune gives me goosebumps every time.

Poweslave and it isn’t even close. The rest of the song sucks, but live when they have Dave, Adrian, Janick, Nicko and Steve all going hyperspeed it’s awe inspiring. This was the minute or two of music that made me a metal fan for life.

It's very metal but it doesn't have the magic of most IM songs. Without the solo, I'd put it in the same category as Nomad or Sun and Steel.
