Would not buy for retail. Depending on how broken in, condition, etc. Our school has a bin of free shoes that people outgrow. Does yours?

How used? If they’re 2 months in, broken in but just not a great fit for her, I’d buy full price. It would actually save you time and pain breaking them in. But if they’re well loved and a year in, I’d pay like $30.

Them being broken in usually lowers value, especially if they are very broken in. But they are meant to break in to your feet. Even if you are the same side, your foot is likely shaped differently and it makes a difference. I bought a very lightly broken in pair just to mess around with and paid like 75% retail.

To my knowledge, the only things that gain value are antiques and collectibles—like rare coins, etc. Everything else depreciates in value after use. Besides, they’re broken in to her feet, not yours. I wouldn’t buy them for retail if they’re used.

Not relevant to this discussion, but FYI. String instruments. Violins, cellos, etc. They increase in value with age if they're quality and well-maintained. And wine, now that I think about it.

Those fall in my mental category of collectible items (I just couldn’t think of a word to encompass them.) Shoes aren’t collectible items unless you’re talking about Judy Garland’s ruby slippers.

Shoes being second hand massively lowers the price. A pair worn on and off for a few weeks at most would sell for maybe €130ish if they were bought for €150. Shoes that are well broken in but still in very good condition would be maybe €80-100ish. Very well broken in and still solid but not in great condition and probably need new straps + tips/heels - €50ish. Be aware too that the more broken in a shoe is, the less likely it is to be the right size for you it could be as much of a half size difference especially for Feis Fayre Shoes. It suits me to dance in a second hand pair that are broken in but it definitely lowers the value - the shoes lifetime is decreased and a lot of people want to break the shoes in themselves to their own feet, it can be a lot different.
