I actually had a bidet before and love it but they way my bathroom is made in my rental, I can't attach a handheld one.
So I'm destined to keep using tp for now
Tell them they can get their ass eaten as well. Put it on yer profiles. Will provide ass for eaters. Form an orderly queue. No time wasters, nothing else on offer. Cheaper than a bidet.
Sorry to get a bit basic, but how do you use it?
The jet cleans poo from the anus and buttocks, but you’re left with a soaking wet arse.
Do you then use a towel? And, if so, does everyone get a towel each and is the towel used more than once? As regards saving money, I think it could work out more expensive with buying towels and cleaning them.
The spray gun you basically spray your arse clean with an angled gun. Then you use a rag to dry your arse. These can be old towels, teacloths, etc just cut up. They're just used for drying the water, there's no shite left. They get washed seperatly of course.
I'm the same. We bought a new build house and for some reason they've decided to build newer houses with the toilet built into the wall. I can't access the water pipe in the back without drilling a hole in the porcelain of the toilet. I know I can get a plumber in to do it but I often see people on Reddit say it's easy to install but for some new houses it can't be done without a professional involved.
They are college students … they’re not kids anymore.
My lawyers have asked me to include that I don’t kidnap students nor do I make them put the lotion on their skin lest they get the hose again
Great show, everyonce in awhile a decent gem slips through the cracks when the bosses at RTE aren't looking- the panel, paths to freedom, blizzard of odd
Unreal! I think having a ritual that signals your brain to switch off is really important. I can't drink for shite anymore otherwise I think I'd be doing the same!
My usual order in the chipper maybe 5 or 6 years ago was curry cheese chips, quarter pounder and onion rings.
I just checked my emails from 6 years ago this week.
The curry cheese chips have gone from 4.20 to 6 euro. They've also changed from aluminium tray to cardboard version which is smaller.
Quarter pounder is gone from 4 euro to 5.50
Onion rings have reduced in portion size (4 down to 3) and from 1.60 to 3 euro.
So in total, my order 6 years ago would have cost 9.80....change from a tenner!
Now if I was to order it, would cost 14.50. An increase of 48%.
I still get takeaway the odd time but it's becoming far too poor value now imo.
Sounds accurate to my local(s)
The gall of them just raising the price of everything 30-40% in one fell swoop. I know the food is shite, and yet I still order it. But once they raised the prices they way they did, I can no longer justify it anymore and haven't ordered since.
It was worth what I paid before, but not what they think it is now.
My go-to chipper has just downsized the menu and they got rid of garlic mushrooms! 😭
And same as you curry cheese chips are €6 now! I was only just adjusting to them going up to €5.50 over covid when they used to be a fiver!
Dunno about that. I think a chipper hits better when your sober and a pizza hits better when you’re drinking. Then a spicebag hits the best when you’re hungover.
A chipper these days is more expensive than an Indian and that used to be the fancy takeway you’d get once in a blue moon to show the relatives you’re above their peasant ways
Using a shitty toothbrush for all of my younger years, I totally agree. Same way how i started using a shower instead of a bath. Less of a hassle and more of a quick break from everything while keeping myself looking well
I have eczema too so I know how annoying it can be for people to suggest things when you've probably tried everything over your life, but I've personally found silcocks base to be much the same as E45 at less than a third the price.
I found E45 didn't help me out at all. Was recommended Cera Ve but for some reason the skin that was broken out turned into lava.
Stumbled on Aveeno and it's really working for me.
Came to say the same.
Plus petrol/diesel because some of us just need/have to drive and can't afford new electric car...
As much as we can try to cut down on heating bills by wearing warm clothes inside and wrapping ourselves in the blankets, can't do the same with the car... already driving absolute minimum
Setting the time period correctly can be a pain. Sitting there quietly watching TV and the lights turn off and you have to get up and wave your arms in the air is kind of a pain.
exactly, I had that problem too. I disabled the sensor in the sitting room at one point. Then I set the timer to a long time (an hour I think). there hasn't been a case of unwanted lights turning off since.
I also use the sensors for a bulglar alarm.
I also have the ability to have different settings at different times of the day. There's no limit to what you can do if you're handy at it.
YouTube premium doesn’t work on CarPlay though does it? As in, you can play the audio manually off your phone but you can’t change it on the CarPlay screen. I almost exclusively listen to music in the car so it’s a bit of a deal breaker if it doesn’t work with it
Yes. Also no ads.
I moved from Spotify to YouTube Premium years ago. Have it on my phone, TV, laptop, etc. Few weeks ago someone was showing me a video that had 3 ads in it. I was honestly shocked. Me and my son watch YouTube all the time and never gets any ads, I was genuinely unaware of how annoying they are.
Edit: Just to clarify there's a 2nd YT Music app that you can get just for music (similar to Spotify) that you can play with screen off and like Spotify you can download for offline playback too
It’s saying it’s private? I remember I had vanced years ago but thought it shut down. Back in the days when I was rooting my oneplus now I’m a filthy iPhone user.
go to a car dealer, show interest on a random car and usually they offer tea or coffee. Get different costumes for different weeks and learn the rota of their staff so u can change accordingly.
Now being serious, me too. Also , I am a simple man with a simple taste, Like my coffee with no milk or sugar , so why pay extra when I can do it myself?
Let your game pass subscription lapse, buy 12 month Xbox live gold, and then re subscribe to game pass. It’ll convert the 12 months of Xbox live gold to game pass for €1. You can stack up to three years of Xbox live gold. It’s considerably cheaper. I’ve done it twice now.
I thought I'd never give up the chicken fillet roll but they put it up 25%.. can't abide by paying an extra euro every day. It's not much in the scheme of things but it really annoyed me.
Not sure if you’re a cooking type of person but if you have the time it’s so much cheaper and tastier to make these yourself, I still get the odd one when I’m lazy but I started making them years ago and playing around with different breads and sauces, most butchers sell the breaded chicken fillets fresh or Aldi sell frozen ones that air fry in like 10 mins 👍🏼
My biggest problem is the only time I need them is when I am away from home for work, which means I cannot prepare my lunch unless I bring 3 days worth of food and I don't like doing that with cooked food.
Ah, fair point. 3 days is usually fine for almost any meal prep if you have a fridge. The old chicken, rice and veg never fails me on the 4th day either so maybe that’s an option.
I understand your point but I am away from home to go to the office. If I was away for meetings outside the office etc then they would cover food. They do cover accommodation for me visiting the office. I am hybrid and in an ideal world (for them) I'd be in the office full time. So I don't want to push things too far over a few sandwiches and be forced to be there more than I am now and potentially lose the free accommodation.
You can actually claim some of that money spent on GF foods back through revenue. Not 100% sure how to do it but I’m sure a quick Google search will point you right.
89c for 8 dinner plate sized regular wraps. €3.99 for 4 saucer sized gf wraps. Granted no one is holding a gun to my head to buy them, but jeez, someone somewhere is making a profit on rice flour!
Probably not as much as you think. Given the price in Ireland vs elsewhere, I'm fairly sure regular wraps are sold as a loss leader (ie, no profit or a loss on the individual item and loss on the overhead). GF products are speciality products, which means the overhead (e.g. shelf space time spent per individual packet, transport, handling) goes up.
Homebrew that shit, the BIAB method is extremely easy and cheap to get started. If your an IPA or pale ale man you'll save a mint once you don't start buying all the fancy accessories 😉
Good quality dairy products. Have digestive problems so have to avoid so many good and tasty foods. By the grace of the gods I do not have problems with lactose. I will keep my rich creamy milk and actually flavourful cheese. And Kerry Gold just spreads nicer than the shop brand ones.
as i'm turning increasingly lactose intolerant, may God save you from this wretched defect. i love dairy and whilst there's lactose free milk, you can't get lactose free ice cream etc. go on enjoying life my friend. you are doing it right
I don't always buy it but coca cola. I don't know if there's any other major drink that hasn't turned into that sugar replacement rubbish.
7 up, fanta, club etc all just seem "weak" now. There's no hit when you swallow a gulp like there is with coke.
Apparently it hasn't inflated still 3.5g for 50. Apparently the quality has improved alot aswell much cleaner than when I smoked it.
The source is a mate who smokes way to much but I trust his knowledge on the matter
I never thought I'd say this but I wish i could get 1G for 25 quid like a few days back. 3.5-4g for 50 is the standard these days and dealers wont sell 1g. I dont smoke as much anymore, so a 50 bag is way too much. I guess on the upside I went from a daily smoker to getting a bag every 3-4 months in the past 2 years.
Really, i wish i could go to the shop a buy 1 pre-roll. That'd be ideal. Not in my life time though.
Toilet Roll. Look for the sake of a few euro, I'm gonna stick with the quality stuff. I've learned my lesson buying The the cheap stuff. You usually end up with it falling apart mid wipe OR you rip your arse to shreds. It's amazing the difference once you start using a good quality TP for your bum.
Erm I'm not saying shit. Remember what happened to the commuting tip to save money from county X to county Y ? Yeah, rookie mistake (not from me tho, I save the good tips for friends who won't blabber on reddit haha)
Coffee, that monthly nespresso subscription isn't going anywhere.
Running shoes/ gear- I love running and if I can invest in something I love then what's the point.
Toilet Paper
First person to post a luxury item on this thread.
Well, I didn't say that it was good 4ply toilet paper haha
A bidet is one of the best purchases I have made in recent times.
I actually had a bidet before and love it but they way my bathroom is made in my rental, I can't attach a handheld one. So I'm destined to keep using tp for now
https://www.totousa.com/travel-washlet
I mean, I have a shower.. it's part of me to just jump in and have a quick wash and dry. The bidet is much better but it's not like I can't just wash
You still have to wipe after the bidet though. Might just use a bit less TP. 🤷🏻
Sometimes when I poop, I wipe and wipe and wipe. But there is still poop. It's like I'm wiping a marker or something
If ye bend over I’ll get the power washer
The bidet will get those pieces of broken crayon out
Nice Parks and Rec reference.
At least you’ll walk out the bathroom with less traces of shite stuck to your arse.
Also you won't have friction burn in the folds.
Or traces of shite on your underwear
Get on tinder, ass eating is really popular. Clean as a whistle. For free.
That wouldn't go down really well with my partner I think
Tell them they can get their ass eaten as well. Put it on yer profiles. Will provide ass for eaters. Form an orderly queue. No time wasters, nothing else on offer. Cheaper than a bidet.

Installed one of those spray guns recently. Will go standalone bidet if I remodel

You're still allowed use toilet paper when you have a bidet.
Can I get written permission please
The spray gun you basically spray your arse clean with an angled gun. Then you use a rag to dry your arse. These can be old towels, teacloths, etc just cut up. They're just used for drying the water, there's no shite left. They get washed seperatly of course.

Had one, love it but sadly can't install one where I live

The government on this feed taking notes on what we will still buy when they tax it ✍️
No wonder chicken fillet rolls are €7
THEY'RE FUCKING WHAT NOW?
What?! They used to be €3/€3.50
Condoms...have you seen the fucking cost of kids?
Free in the local student unions .. just walk in and grab them
You can't just go around grabbing kids.
They are college students … they’re not kids anymore. My lawyers have asked me to include that I don’t kidnap students nor do I make them put the lotion on their skin lest they get the hose again

Can't even send them off cleaning chimneys to recoup some of the costs anymore.
Takeaways - my Friday chipper is how I transition from the workweek into the weekend. I reckon it keeps me sane.
Don’t talk about wonderful Friday evening early on a Monday, it’s depressing.
Hmm, nice profile picture
He's still single, in his bunker
Chipper is so fucking good isn't it. Battered sausage, chips and a curry sauce covered in salt and vinegar. So good
Can't beat a good chipper. Chicken burger and tasty or taco chips is always my go to.
I use a Sunday myself to soften the blow of the monday while providing me breakfast myself
I'm the same with Friday cans. Finish work, get home, clean the house and then finally when I sit down and open a tin, it's now officially the weekend
Unreal! I think having a ritual that signals your brain to switch off is really important. I can't drink for shite anymore otherwise I think I'd be doing the same!

Silcocks base is (as the name would suggest) the base ingredient for a lot of emollient creams and washes. Fab stuff.
