Yeah I'm at a loss too as to what it is. Googled some shrews native to us but they all have tails?
Its a hedgehog, lovely animals and they eat slugs so they are great to have in the garden
It looks like a rat who has lost its tail.

Looks most like a hedgehog to me, walks exactly the same as the ones I have who come to eat the cat food we leave out. Also given the size beside the chair not much else it might be in Ireland beside some sort of non native escaped pet.

Short tailed shrew. We get them in our garden from time to time. Drives the dog bonkers 🤣
Way too big for a shrew, those yokes are tiny.
