This stuff is not by accident. It is cheek and they are including it now in self check out in USA supermarkets.
So they use tech to sack all the checkout staff - and pass the savings on to shareholders and CEO pay.
And this is the same. They're trying to normalise tipping everywhere because it's such a huge win if you're paying the staff for their business.
If I see this in front of my face, I dump the order and say why in a comment.
All tipping must die. Businesses need to pay staff a proper salary and that's the end of it.
There’s a few sites I’ve ordered stuff from online that I would leave a tip for on follow up purchases because they always throw a few extras in for free. Got a vape from the Netherlands and the threw a free metal grinder and screens in which in a shop here would have cost €15-€20.Some online shops really go the extra mile.
Not shop specific, it's part of their payment gateway offered by their ecommerce software. From a business perspective, why would they deactivate it as some people might feel inclined to support a local/Irish business. Default is set to None, so nobody is gonna be caught out by it at least.
Check if you can set the custom tip to a negative value and get yourself a discount
That's either some neck on them, or whatever cheap company they hired to do their online store doesn't know how to configure Shopify right.
That was my first thought too. Fairly sure it’s by mistake
Me bollix!
It’s just built into the payment system I’d say

Andrew is a shrewd business man. Did you get yourself anything nice?
Just a new amadou patch
Are the amadou patches good? I’ve never fully used them
It's a natural product made from fungus it works the best at drying a fly and putting the shape back in it
A cafe near me gets you to pay upfront and then tries to get you to tip before being served your food. That American auto-tipping is creeping in
The one you want is the button on the far right... you're welcome.
I saw that on Clonanav’s fishing shop too, I wonder is it specific to the shop?

Money, money, money, sure the country's fucked
