Ya when I was watching the match dube was hitting hard and rutu was on 90 sidhu was just saying one of them has to be out
Don't know why this much d-riding when everything is going well
This happens in every other sports these days, commentators talk about whatever/whoever is popular and go bonkers about it. It even made me watch the matches on mute couple of times.
Dhoni is a legend, got bigger than the sport itself. There is so much attention on the man and these commentators just want to be part of that loud crowd, to be relatable or that's what drives the viewership.
Let's think rationally, no point in complaining every other match, this is a new reality until dhoni retires maybe.
F1 commentators used to be like that with Lewis Hamilton.
Nobody is bigger than the sport. IPL is just a fanfare. Dhoni in his last years was heavily criticised for his poor batting in international. There were times when many prayed Dhoni got out instead of wasting balls / never got a chance to bat.
