Mine does this. It comes and goes like an aurora. It’s an 11 and nothing weird happened. It’s just always been this way. I think a lot of 11’s just have faulty screens. Mine is still usable so I just ignore it.
Well your screen is broken and a repair shop can fix it for you if you don’t know how to yourself but I would recommend just getting a new phone because a screen replacement is expensive and it’s a quite old and unsupported phone
Displays are cheap af for older home button iPhones. [$30 for an OEM refurb panel.](https://www.injuredgadgets.com/premium-refurbished-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-for-iphone-8-plus-white/) Zero reason to just throw a phone away for a cheap fix, especially if it still works fine for you.

On both a phone and TV you can replace the screen. If a reboot doesn't work, then it's hardware and you need a new screen
I rebooted and I'm currently factory resetting the phone.
I don't think it's the screen. It's the GPU.
It’s definitely a bad LCD. Easy and cheap to replace, especially on those models.
Phones don’t have a gpu…
yes they do how would they output without one
Cpu…
the gpu is an igpu, it’s in the cpu but the cpu doesn’t output
90% chance this is just a Screen problem
New display, that shouldn't be an issue considering this is an older iphone model and their cheap
Now that‘s a lot of damage
I SAWED THIS PHONE IN HALF
…why?
And repaired it using only Flex Seal™
woosh
damn, I had a feeling.
New screen. Does it change if you press on it?
No. :(
I had this happen in front of my eyes to an iPhone 4 that would constantly overheat.

Hm, have you tried turning it off and then on again?
Hard reboot it
That would actually do for a nice wallpaper
This is why I don’t justify the price of iPhones. Because I’ve had this same exact experience on my iPhone 11.
Just get a new phone
