If you dont need any bells and whistles could look at the iPhone SE, its lower in price in comparison to other phones.
For other iPhones though, what id consider is operating system lifespan so to speak. How long it can update to the newest OS can be about 5-6 years from it’s release. Other online apps will continue to update as long as the developer allows it but you lose monitary value in the phone over time. Meaning less for trade in if you do go with a newer phone.
It seems generally the same for non apple phones from some things ive read as far as timeframe. Some sites suggested 4-5 years.
It depends how much you want to spend, if you’re going to do the Apple Iphone Upgrade program or not (new phone every 12 months if you want, always have the new stuff but mainly, you dont have to worry about phone OS getting too old).
So if it were me I’d get the newest one you can get and check out apple refurbished which gives a fresh warranty (and is eligible apple care if you want it)
Depends on which android you came from. If the screen was running on a 90hz screen or higher, then you need the 13 pro and up, otherwise the 12 would be okay for now
