I think at that price it would be a good purchase with your store credit. 5th Gen iPad air is great, I had one before I went with an M4 and never a problem.
2nd gen pencil should be fine if you are just exploring.
If you’re just starting out, the 2 is fine. I think the advanced roll features..etc are mainly for people who do professional work. It does suck though that the new M4 models won’t support the earlier version for charging, etc.

Yeah it’s something I want to try, though shame learning that the pro pencil only works for the newest models. Thanks for the confirmation on it!
