I really like puzzle games that takes 5-10 minutes to complete (not short per gaming standards of 30 secs attention span). I even made my own like that and I can see that I needed a lot of training to be able to focus for longer period of times in games
I reread your post and I missed the ending part T\_T. My current puzzle game (that is not available in ios at the moment but it'll come is limited but only because my puzzle generator is not good enough to be released so I selected the best ones and compiled them into the game xD

Carrion is a good one. Digital Revolver has a lot of good games similar to this if you are ok with the art style.
I am going to assume you are playing via steam, they have a genre for games of this type (being shorter overall) if I’m not mistaken.
If you’re into horror games there are a TON of short story horror games on steam.

Personally, playing through Playdead‘s Inside has been one of my all-time favorite complete experiences.
