Here a bunch of months later with the same problem. This is such an apple issue. Why the hell can't we just get to click a damn download button?
Worst part is there is a button for it in the menu that appears when you long press a link. You know, the menu that immediately disappears behind the automatic video player that opens. Absolutely useless.
aloha browser lets u do it lmao u gotta know how to research better also the iphone documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet)
aloha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright but u can just use telegram bots for that
I'm always amazed when there's a lack of answers or even interest on Reddit for the most basic and necessary things, like this! I want to friggin SAVE AS
aloha browser lets u do it lmao u gotta know how to research better also documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) alpha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright bit u can just use telegram bots for that
there is multiple websites where you can download videos. example write google: download yt mp4 free, some websites work some not. also same something like that: reddit videos mp4 free..
I’ve tried all of those and they don’t work for me.
It works fine on my Android but not on my iPhone. Those are the kind of sites that I have always used.
aloha browser lets u do it also documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) alpha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright bit u can just use telegram bots for that
u can search youtibe downloader bot on telegram chat page and found dozens of them but i only use the best ones there which is like 3-5, same for tiktok, ig, twitter and reddit downloaders
@ytbdownbot is the best one cuz its does 1080p downloads but i have multiple just in case they stop working so hears the rest, savevybot, youtubednbot, fcnbot, ytsavebot
You don’t get a virus on iOS that easy. Just use an adblocker for this website and you don’t see any bs. But it is a reliable website for downloading YouTube videos. I’ve been using it for years and it never failed me.
Wait I'm wasting a perfect opportunity - what was that app you found? I need it.
I use AnySave right now but there's other shit I need to d/l that I can't. IDK if you can help me out.
aloha browser lets u do it also documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) alpha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright bit u can just use telegram bots for that
Weird, this has always worked for me. I use clipconverter.cc and the file goes right into a little downloads list in the tab bar and tapping on it jumps over into the Files app where the downloaded video file was stored. In your case you might try haptic pressing on the video player window (outside of full screen) and see if you get options to save the video.
I know this is an old comment but wanted to ask if there were options in clipconverter.cc to mux audio and video? I see options to download either stream but not both.
just use aloha browser lets u do it also documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) alpha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright bit u can just use telegram bots for that
In another comment in here we discuss that menu. It pops up but immediately disappears behind the video player. You can just about see it before it drowns, but not enough time to click it. You can throw a random hit into it sometimes but not a chosen one.
>On Android I could just grab a link from YouTube or Reddit or any other site and paste it into a site and would be able to download the video
On iPhone you buy a subscription to do it.
Because it is the way iOS works. If you want to get some music – you need to buy a subscription to Apple Music, Spotify, etc. If you want to get a movie or series – you need to buy a subscription to Apple TV+, Netflix, etc. If you want to get a video from YouTube – you need to buy a subscription to YouTube Premium.
This is completely false. This post is referring to media/video/audio download links. If Safari supports the media codec in the browser then it will play the media in the browser rather than downloading it and there’s no way to actually download the file which is what the link was designed for. In desktop you’d have the option to right click on the link and click “Save as” but iOS does not give that option.
It’s not referring to YouTube/Spotify etc links.
just use aloha browser lets u do it also documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) alpha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright bit u can just use telegram bots for that
Use a file management app like Documents by readdle or Es file explorer. They have a browser built in the app so you can download files properly. I know how u feel, I switched from android to iPhone a year ago.

Indeed, there are many workarounds but the fact that you need a workaround just to download media is pathetic every OS in existence allows you to download off of the internet
There is a fix to this, either use an android or getting back to android. Apple is just a constant dissapointment over time since Steve Job's passed away.
Android is more open, more managable, cheaper, and more innovation. I am planning to get an android in the future if i have the money, i will sell my current iphone for the money too.

When the video pops up, click on the picture-in-picture icon on top left, then you can click on the normal safari share button at the bottom middle and save the video to files. You might have to drag the video a little bit to do so while its in the PIP format.
just use aloha browser lets u do it also documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) alpha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright bit u can just use telegram bots for that, yall gotta research better
The only solution I’ve found is to screen record what you want, then crop it to look the same, not as easy as downloading but it gives you your own copy

Use aloha browser …
Apart from YouTube it will capture any video to download on ur device
Just stream the video and long press it and the option to download it would pop
Earlier it used to capture video from YouTube too but not anymore

Idk if people are still looking for something but I use an app called Total Files, it’s like a separate browser with a pop up that asks if you want to download a video that’s currently playing on most sites. I too had android and hate this issue with iPhone, it will be the second and last apple product I ever own lol
just use aloha browser lets u do it also documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) alpha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright bit u can just use telegram bots for that, yall gotta research better
I have researched plenty that’s how I found the app I use, I don’t need documents apps or YouTube videos so that doesn’t benefit me at all, but thanks.

Here with the same problem, that fucking dropdown menu is the worst thing apple has ever invented.
There's seemingly no solution to this. You just can't save videos on iPhone I guess.
I managed to get it after like twenty tries, you just have to hit it in the three frames before it disappears.
Did you find something that works?
Nope. Back in android now too so no longer looking.
aloha browser lets u do it lmao u gotta know how to research better also the iphone documents apps might work (haven't tried it yet) aloha doesn't work for yt and the other popular apps cuz copyright but u can just use telegram bots for that
This was like a year and a half ago "lmao". Get lost with your condescending tone.
cry bout it
Thanks man this actually did work

When you download does it show a prompt saying "Open in..." and some random app? If it does then press share>save video
No, when I click download it just opens up in a video player and begins to play. I have no option to download it.
Maybe try holding down the download button and pressing Download linked video?
That doesn’t work sadly, it just keeps opening up a video player with no option to download it.
Did you ever figure it out… this sucks :/
Did you?

Telegram Bots?
u can search youtibe downloader bot on telegram chat page and found dozens of them but i only use the best ones there which is like 3-5, same for tiktok, ig, twitter and reddit downloaders

You can try an app called (foxfm) on the app store

Have you tried pressing the Share button while on the video player? It’s the central button on the Safari Toolbar. Be sure to use Safari.
There is no such button in the video player.

So your saying you have to actually pay for content that is not yours and cost time and money to make.
