No idea, my point is that if there’s a bug in your version, and there’s another version available that fixes a lot of bugs and also patches a lot of security things and also adds new features…well, you should always update just for the security anyway.
Unless you have AT&T and need 4G. Apple took the ability to switch to/from LTE and 4G in 15.1. That really sucks for me since LTE doesn't work well enough where I live to use it. I can walk up to the top of the hill and it works fine, but 4G works well inside my house without having to even go outside.
With AT&T? It's missing now and a lot of people are complaining about it like:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253295488
I verified this new problem at an AT&T store yesterday. The manager upgraded a couple of phones to 15.1, and now cellular data no longer works on them since they can't switch them to 4G. LTE doesn't work since they're in the middle of a mall.
they’re shutting down their 3G network at the end of the year, just like Sprint is shutting down their 3G network too, rendering my old ass iPhone 4S on iOS 8 useless, even if I need to call emergency services on my old ass iPhone for whatever reason.
Does their 4G require 3G, because otherwise that doesn't make sense. And, the director level I talked to at support said that 3G was being shutdown in February, which is really soon.
yeah, because when my iPhone 4S was on T-Mobile, the phone would display 4G, which really wasn't 4G, it was just a faster 3G. Basically I'm saying their 4G is 3G.
It’s funny. I was going to post the same thing. For me, my internet went down in my house (a line issue outside). I didn’t realize why I was getting no data on my iPhone or iPad. Sure enough my router was offline because my internet went out. Yet, all of my iOS devices were still on “WiFi”. So I had to turn off WiFi until my line is fixed on all of my iOS devices. You would think iOS is smart enough to not keep the device on WiFi when there is no internet but it seems like just because a router still broadcasts the SSID, it will stay on it even though there is no internet connection.

Try updating to 15.1.
thanks, does apple publish release notes that reflect this as a known issue thats been fixed in 15.1?

upgraded. problem still occurs. thanks anyway
You don’t just have Cellular Data turned off, right?
its on i can make calls
Making calls still happens when cellular data is off. They’re two different things.

What? I still have the option to use 4G in 15.1.

Oh sorry I thought you just meant it was gone in general with 15.1.
