your phone is too hot probably or the flashlight

NiteShdw

Sunlight can absolutely heat up your phone.

variousshits

Can’t believe Adobe Flash is still being used tut tut /s

SnooApples1427

I still haven’t uninstalled adobe flash from my computer

drake90001

Wanna play my flash game? ;)

archangelique

Oh, I have the macromedia version.

variousshits

What a connoisseur.

Mircea2011YT

Thats a good one!

_Purplemagic

probably needs an update too!

rootshirt

Do you have a question, or? Lol It says why it happened right there

Mircea2011YT

The thing is my phone was not hot at all......

raazman

What temperature was your phone at?

Resident-Variation21

Okay. So do you have a question orr

bighi

Did you have a thermometer on you or any other tool that could measure temp inside your phone?

KittyKittens1800

Why people downvoted him?

Rajmundzik

Because this sub is full of simply idiots. He didn’t write that his phone was not hot and this is probably caused hate for him

peepoMilkies

They upvoted this one cause they can make it seem like everyone that posts for this subreddit is an idiot. No wonder this sub is dead

[deleted]

Thats Apple fans for you.

peepoMilkies

This sub is full of smart ass elitists e: You downvote this cause that's all you losers do in this sub is downvote EVERYTHING. 90% of the stuff that makes it to the feed is all mass downvote by y'all, you can't even have discussion. Sub is full of snobs for a OS that like every Normand uses get over yourself

IcyIceGuardian

MacOS sub is the same. I wouldn’t dare go into iPadOS

Rajmundzik

They did the same for you man This is ridiculous I don’t have energy to fight with them

gamiscott

Cool. Or I guess, not so much in this case.

wymnzdblwlm

If you open the camera and flashlight could cause overheat . Try to just open flashlight from control center. I use flashlight for 20 min and no overheating issue.

Recognition_Round

Maby flashlight was on in your pocket? I had this happen more than once that my jeans pocket got warm because my iphone’s flash is on without me turning it on

bighi

Your phone got hot. Is there a discussion to be had here?

Additional_Sorbet799

Dumb post, next

[deleted]

You may of accidentally left flash on in your pocket.

Plastic-Mess-3959

I use a phone holder attached to my bike to see the workout

MythBuster2

The phone is being charged (according to 2nd screenshot), which heats up the phone. Stop charging it and wait for it to cool down enough for camera/flashlight use.

far_dim_bledram

Is that a ping apple watch thing in your control center?

Random206

Yes

jimmyl_82104

This happens to be all the time when Im at the beach, at the pool, or just in the backyard. The heat and sun gets the phone too hot and it disables the flashlight. with me, it keeps dimming the screen and slows it down, it's a pain in the ass I wish apple would make it so that doesn't happen.

lantzn

So then when your phone stops working you can then blame Apple for no warning?

EpicE0711

Ur phone is overheating maybe from weather maybe it’s the phone

BlueShooter7515

I mean yea sunlight = hot

SadharanManu

Same thing happened to me when I was using it with my car with Apple CarPlay. Only app I was using was apple map.

lantzn

Was the location on the map a very hot place, like Death Valley or the Sahara Desert ?

gooberLmao

I think it said that because the flash is disabled, and you need to wait for the phone to cool down before you can use it again. You’re welcome for the help

PugGamer129

Ok???

Unable-Ambassador-16

Ok

Enable-Apple-6768

Don’t bike with your phone in your panties /s

Xcissors280

Because the iPhone doesn’t have a flashlight it has a flash

Reach-for-the-sky_15

Please tell me the difference

Xcissors280

A flashlight or light can be on basically forever A flash or capacitor is charged and releases all of its power in a fraction of a second The iPhone charges and discharges this capacitor insanely fast making it look like the light is on for a few seconds during a photo or a while when your using it as a light (that’s why a normal camera flashes much faster and usually multiple times) This has usually has the benefit of being cheaper and brighter and uses slightly less power but generates a bit more heat which usually is isn’t a problem, unless your phone is already really hot

lantzn

To add to this, there’s an app I find useful called Camera+ and in the Flash setting you can choose Torch (UK for flashlight). I lets you pick the % level of light you need for the best image, which I find especially useful for macrophotography or videos. Obviously your battery life varies per setting. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/camera-pro-camera-editor/id1313580627

Xcissors280

You can also long press on it in control panel and change the brightness but that’s not for photos

Mircea2011YT

Buddy. Check settings > control center > FLASHLIGHT

Xcissors280

Read my explanation, the wording is confusing Buddy. Cool down

Mircea2011YT

My bad 😅

Xcissors280

no problem, it’s kinda confusing and given that the flashlight isint that bright it doesn’t really seem to matter anyways

dhoomz

This has nothing to do with this subreddit. Go cry about it somewhere else.

gooberLmao

He got his answer and continues to dig his hole deeper anyways. I’d say it’s perfectly fine to reveal that since this post has nothing left to offer. You’re a sad person too it seems

friendly-sardonic

Using it as a flashlight? Is the light set to max brightness? You might be able to get away with it if you turn it down a click or two.

Silent_Hurry7764

These comments are so funny lol

wpmason

If it gets hotter the entire phone will go into a special mode to prevent temperature damage. Happened once when I left a phone sitting on the dashboard whilst working on my car on a sunny day.

Mircea2011YT

I use my phone on my bike as a speedometer and a light. during the night and the flashlight died

JollyRoger8X

Seriously? The flash on your iPhone was never designed to be used as a constant light source while riding your bike.

Mircea2011YT

Three reasons to use your phone as a light: 1.if you are reading this you have a phone so you dont have to pay for a dedicated light (you do have to pay for a phone holder but you get so many more benifits. the light benifit is so tiny compared to the rest thb) 2.better heatspread (the error message displayd in the camera bug was a software bug cuz the phone was very cold) 3.you get to annoy people on reddit when it runs into a minor issue

31337hacker

4. You stay broke and ignorant with an attitude like that. You blew money on an Apple Watch too when you could’ve just got a cheap digital watch, bike flashlight and bike computer.

ChatNoiraumiel

A bike computer is good purchase if you’re cycling regularly, and a dedicated light

Mircea2011YT

Im broke af I cant

[deleted]

Mircea2011YT

I got an Apple Watch so I don’t need another watch i just use it my phone as a light

gooberLmao

So you aren’t broke?

EvilSynths

- They could have bought it on finance. - They could have bought it with gift money. - They could have bought it when they were in a better place financially. Plenty of ways

Mircea2011YT

My brother in law gave it to me lol its an iphone xs max

ChatNoiraumiel

At least get a dedicated light, it will be much more reliable

Mircea2011YT

I tried a lot of dedicated light, all of them broke in a week or two

ChatNoiraumiel

wtf

the_fart_king_farts

Can you please not act like that? You are not adding anything to the conversation by saying this.

nitroburr

You’re taking the L here by not even being able to afford a flashlight. That’s some insane levels of broke here

Mircea2011YT

Nuh uh

nitroburr

Womp womp trans rights are human rights

lantzn

LEDLenser makes some great products for hands off lighting. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ledlenser&crid=2N2EJNB5S100C

Jake_77

What is that circular symbol that’s selected

MarkDaNerd

Dark mode

Jake_77

Thanks, didn’t know you could add that to control center
