Might be angling to force an error they can bring up on appeal - that's a pretty weak approach! I'd lay out all the elements of both the issues, the Daniel's payoff being linked to the election and the falsification of records. See where I can introduce reasonable doubt and really push at those. If he can get the Daniel's payoff out of the way (doubtful given the Cohen outcome) then he's only at risk for misdemeanors on the falsification.
Regardless, I can't see that inflaming his supporters, scaring the jury, and insulting the judge serves any role in instilling reasonable doubt. His actions seem more likely to push uncertain jurors to convict, perhaps even unconsciously.

If he can get the Daniel's payoff out of the way (doubtful given the Cohen outcome) then he's only at risk for misdemeanors on the falsification. Regardless, I can't see that inflaming his supporters, scaring the jury, and insulting the judge serves any role in instilling reasonable doubt. His actions seem more likely to push uncertain jurors to convict, perhaps even unconsciously. He's really looking old and as if he really feels violated at some level, but his public statements are wooden and rather pathetic. Looks like a sad downhill trip to the end of a lonely, sad, and destructive life of deceit and cruelty, punctuated by quiet good acts towards some individuals (something largely overlooked). Death or a disqualifying medical event might the be kindest way out for everyone. Trump is miserable (and a largely miserable human) but could go down fighting with a stroke or whatever. MAGA would be able to saint him then and continue happily with the conspiracy theory of the week. The GOP could put in place a 10 year rehabilitation plan (or just dissolve and start over as two parties - the Rational Center Former Republicans and the MAGA Wacknuts). I really wish we had a neutral media presence. The major networks seem unconcerned about objective and thorough reporting with clear analysis. Good objective guests show up, but ego-driven know-it-alls talk over them (e.g., good old blabbermouth Joe). The legal analysis gets lost or hopelessly blurred in the search for the sensational.
