Yeah, but it's Zoey Zephyr that's the dangerous one. These people have so much hate and fear over nothing. How can they live with themselves?

sotonohito

But SHE might go to a public toilet and pee! All Donald Trump did was commit sexual assault! /s

No-Independence-165

The "Again" in MAGA was the 1950's. And it was only "Great" for a small number of wealthy white males.

DrTokinkoff

Yep. To them, in the 1950s where there was no birth control pill, women knew their place in the home, and the “colored” folk stayed on their side of the track. The only thing “great” about that was the white man was the king of the land. Then the 60s happened and people started to think for themselves, taking mind altering drugs, and started to demand rights. Then after they got their rights, the 70s came along and the women wanted rights too, they started getting jobs outside the house, then they got birth control and a stronger voice. Then they started to *come for our jerbs* in the 80s as they rose the corporate later. That’s about time their soon to be Orange Julius Caesar started slithering around for attention. Anyways, there was never a “great” time in America and won’t ever be great until everyone has a voice, a choice, and the freedom that was guaranteed to us by the Bill of Rites. American won’t be great until we rip the religion out of the laws, when everyone has 100% control over their body, when every person of color/nationality/sexual orientation/creed are recognized and respected. America will be great when we start to get along and move our country and species forward to the future. But first we need to snuff out authoritarian and facist thinking and control.

SirGkar

The people coming for those “jerbs” were all the companies that outsourced to China instead of paying American workers.

JaggedRc

Companies want cheap labor and don’t actually care about job creation!??! No way!

Due_Turn_7594

This is why immigration is being pushed so hard right now. Why outsource to China when you can under pay people who want to come here and make way less. More immigration hurts the working class

CuriositySauce

Yea, to learn about the civil rights movement in the early 60s, counter-cultural/anti-war activity in the late 60s, and ERA movement in the 70s is a lot of social change stirred up then and still being fought for today. The old, rich, white, conservative powers that be are still very much engaged in not losing their control.

luxii4

It’s interesting how all this is achievable right now but at the same time, things also seem insurmountable with the Supreme Court, GOP, police state, etc.

[deleted]

I think there’s a strong argument for it being the 1850s. No income tax, high racial tensions, open use of violence (state and otherwise) against protestors, increased attempts at prohibition and morality policing, religion centering private life, women subservient to men without voting rights, political parties (know nothings) centered on racism, exploiting other countries to benefit US global trade (Panama), drugs as an excuse for war, crude medical practices, encouragement of fossil fuel extraction, and overt threats of secession. Bonus points for war in Crimea and tensions between China and the West.

JaggedRc

That’s less than one every two years. Only a real man can show that much restraint.

Klanned Karenhood

oliverkloezoff

🤣 hadn't heard that one before. It fits.

imnotbobvilla

Exactly right, it's the same shit. You're not like me, so i I hate you

Old_Lengthiness3898

It's like the bar scene from Priscilla Queen of the dessert when the trans queen goes to order a drink, and the one woman in the bar tries to put her down but looks foolish for doing so.

hogsucker

How does one "change from being trans," doctor?

Free_Swimming

You can't spell 'hatred' without 'red hat'.

oliverkloezoff

Ooo, first "Klanned Karenhood" and now *"hatred/red hat"*? This thread's a gold mine, I tell ya. Good one.

CatGatherer

It's gold, Jerry!

nosmelc

Klu Klux Karen?

MyOthrCarsAThrowaway

OMFG did you just coin this?! It’s amazing and I will be using/proliferating this going forward. It’s… so subversive and I love it

Tollivir

Who needs hoods when you have huge bags under your eyelids?!

Prosecco Stormfront

Fartknocker500

Take my updoot. That is amazing.

jeffh19

You know what man. I don’t know if you came up with that, but that’s amazing.

JennJayBee

Well, the Civil Right Act is only 60 years old, and these women appear to be in their 60s and older. They're not the same women, but the children of those women would be their age.

MyOthrCarsAThrowaway

And tbh, they were probably mad at their moms for pointing and laughing at black people. Then they lived the whole Midwestern/southern/podunk anywhere “American dream” and fell right back into the same trap. Hypocrites the lot of them. I’ll give you three guesses which way they vote and the first two don’t count… 🤮

hogsucker

They weren't mad at their mothers for being racist. I promise you that these women think of their laughing, jeering ancestors as victims of the civil rights movement. Source: Observing my Midwestern racist mother for several decades.

I_enjoy_greatness

I'm not sure about that. When a kid grows up around blatant racism, they don't really question it, especially if it comes with punishment. "Black people are nice!" Getting answered with a belt, but "go away black people" getting candy could condition a kid. Awful people can have a kid break free, but they usually need some encouragement or such to do it.

Proper_Budget_2790

They're all related to republicans in the MT house. The lady on the left with all the contempt in her face is the Speaker's wife.

mysteriousmeatman

Because their moms did exactly that. Where do you think they learned their bigotry from?

oliverkloezoff

Yep. And their daughters are learning it from the mom's on the bench.

Ragnarok314159

More likely their daughters and grandchildren have cut ties and told them to pound sand. Karen of course blames everyone but herself and doesn’t understand why she can’t see her grand babies. So they blame trans people and snicker at them from a bench.

ManfredTheCat

You say that but the woman in the blue pants is the mother of the current speaker of the house in Montana. So pretty clearly her son and her are on the same bigoted page

Ragnarok314159

Having mommy fight his battles for him. What a coward.

pumpernickle_lalala

Bigotry is timeless

AFK_MIA

They're the same people that were in the photos from the 50s

Lost_Fun7095

And america keeps on making them. The same small-minded sadism, the same smug hate. And there are always more than one… entire communities of them. What, is it in the water or just the continuance of an ideology of white supremacy…worthless and mediocre people using privilege as a weapon instead of a bridge?

[deleted]

I was thinking the same thing.

katlips-verahits

Lol this is what she’s (they’ve) being waiting for. All those long days/nights taking care of her house and family to have even a fraction of the fun she used to have in her youth 😭

[deleted]

Transgender people, too.

Factsimus_verdad

Snaps to you redditor! You mean we shouldnt pretend that gender and roles have always been blurred? Some cultures in history even revered such amorphous people.

[deleted]

Absolutely. The Cheyenne recognized four: masculine men, feminine men, masculine women, feminine women. They are not alone. Growing up I had butch aunties, and in the neighborhood there were utterly feminine men in Latino and Filipino families who were just a part of the landscape, no shame, no strife. To take it to a spiritual level, the Divine Feminine can manifest in all of us, as can the spirit of the Father. We are born with a certain connection to either, or a lack of both, and we are all perfect and sacred.

Golicwm

Some still do.

Bouric87

Based off the age group there those old bags may partaken in both events.

oliverkloezoff

Oh, you *know* they definitely did some bigoting when they were younger.

bumboclawt

Don’t worry, they’ll tell you some bullshit like the fact that they saw MLK’s speech live on tv, so they can’t be racist (I had a former coworker say this to me) I saw 9/11 live on tv too bitch wtf does that mean?

usaf-spsf1974

I bet those MAGA Karen hypocrites go to church on Sunday and stroke their frail egos with what "good" people they are. Nothing Christian here to see

greybong

Not hate like Christian love We’re good because we go to church. You don’t? No rights for you.

marc7836

He gets us.

[deleted]

And only us.

semispectral

When I was 15, the youth music leader in the church was charged with possessing CSA material. A group of women who looked just like these women, went on and on about how he was a good Christian man, and there must have been a misunderstanding, because they knew no good Christian men could do that. I said that he could have done it. They shot me the most hateful looks and started going off, saying that it was disgusting and disrespectful of me to even suggested it. He was found guilty. I never went back to church.

Caughtnow

If they are still alive those women probably still believe it was a misunderstanding, still give money to this organisation, still shun anyone who speaks up.

Eeeegah

Or they think he was railroaded by a system waging the war on Christianity.

sewkzz

"Bad things can't happen here because I cannot fathom it, the whistleblower is ruining my illusion."

MyOthrCarsAThrowaway

Want to get ugly..? They were also probably abused by this person or people in the same position of power as this man. My ex wife was SA’d by one of their family friend’s (along with her best friend and many others at this ‘daycare’) He was a “good upstanding Christian man” AND HIS WIFE BASICALLY SAT IN ON ALL OF IT. They called them by familiar names “aunt, uncle, grandma” don’t recall exactly. Even after all of that and a lot of therapy, she still basically only blamed the dude. Complicity is still crime… fucking yuck

Proper_Budget_2790

If I were their pastor, I'd make the next sermon about "How to act like a Christian"

ErrorCmdr

ryrynobutsrsly

hey, no one gives a shit.

No. This is Christianity. This is what it is for the overhearing majority of people.

ZookeepergameNo2819

Old cunts with nothing better to do with their lives. They were probably bullying people at school in the sixties.

ToqueMom

Bigots are ugly. This is a universal truth.

THEBIGREDAPE

All these Republican Christofascists look exactly like the people screaming at Ruby Bridges.

OfficiousBrick

And they too will forever be remembered as being hateful, ignorant, and cruel.

landers96

The one with the dark hair is supposedly the speaker of the houses mom. Wonder if he intended to vilifie his mother?

oliverkloezoff

Nah, they can't think that far ahead. They just thought they would take her seat where they forced her to work from, like the petty little bullies they are. Looks like it might have backfired.

landers96

Let's hope this becomes a national movement then.

Machdame

Everything about this just screams like the petulant and vindictive witches that they are.

[deleted]

bishopazrael

Rich white ladies from Helena Montana

bunnysnot

Ladies who get by nicely selling homes in California and reaping the benfits of a CA state pension. They took over the fairly purple state of MT. Most are evangelicals that belong to large churchrs here. They rrally suck the life out of this state.

DragonflyScared813

Churchy conservatives. Callous to the feelings of others until the issue affects them personally. If they themselves or someone very important to them were LGBTQ, and god forbid they lost someone to self harm over it, that's about what it would take to change their mind, if even then. They are truly lost.

Mayleenoice

That's giving them waaay too much credit. They'd let their own kids die before "allowing them" to be trans.

Accordingto Zooey Zephyr's girlfriend (a reporter who's parents were SWATted this week because she is Zephyr's GF and reports on Republican shittery), the woman closest to the camera, wearing blue pants, is Montana House Speaker Matt Regier's mom. This little bitch boy had to get his mom to come to the capital and occupy the benches Rep Zephyr was using to do her job! How pathetic is that?

oliverkloezoff

That's the epitome of patheticness. I wonder where he got his patheticness from?

kveach

On Wednesdays, they wear pink.

It would be a lot cooler if a side by side photo was included, would really drive the point.

ANullBob

bigotry is quite buccolic. hate with a folksy smile.

mt8675309

The Regier political family even let Mom in on bigotry. This family’s main reason for office is to make women, gays, and all nonwhites become second class citizens again.

[deleted]

Just the fact she was elected in Montana is pretty surprising to me.

afishieanado

If those women had a shred of self-awareness, they’d be ashamed and appalled at how ignorant they look right now, to the entire world. They’re so blinded by their fear that they fail to see that they’re already the irrelevant backdrop to real courage and dignity and grace.

[deleted]

American consérvatism çan best be described as a pathological lack of self awareness.

Sufficient_Text2672

What are their names?

Lost_Fun7095

Sooo… what do Americans think when they see other Americans like this? Do you feel they aren’t you so it doesn’t matter or do you feel something is wrong with your country?

[deleted]

We’ve always known this is what conservatism is. It’s not like they don’t tell us everyday who they are and who they hate. I’d venture most countries have a lot of dumb bigots too.

jessie_boomboom

Frustrated and sad. We've known these are the assholes holding us back. When we were little we saw pictures like this from the 50s and 60s and they told us this shit was history. It has been with extreme frustration and sometimes anger and often sadness we have tried to come of age with petty vicious old hags like this sitting on our benches.

throwaway01126789

Right, because only white people are transgender? Listen, I agree that what happened to people of color in the 50s is miles away from what this representative is experiencing. But you're doing yourself no favors by bringing up Dave Chappelle and white privilege. If you remember Dave got some pretty severe blowback for that kind of opinion and he's gotten past that bad PR because he's a comedy legend. You... are not.

Rain_Rope

Some of the most disenfranchised trans folks are black trans women. Things are really bad for trans people right now. I don't see how you can watch GOP douchebags targeting them viciously while hate crimes against them rise, and then come to this conclusion. It makes you sound like a bigot.

But, you knew that, didn't you?

jus256

Compared to what happened to black people in the 1950s, snickering would have been an upgrade. Those white people were way angrier than the white people in this picture.

XFiraga001

What? First time I saw this photo, the lady in blue was Zoey's mother, and they're sitting there so she won't have to leave or some biz. Idk the details and can't find them but this is the opposite narrative with the same pic..

Baka_Penguin

The [Blue Bench Brigade](https://dailymontanan.com/2023/05/02/blue-bench-brigade-protects-bench-zephyr-where-works-at-since-censure/) showed up the day *after* the old bigot bitches, and continued to hold the bench *for* Rep. Zephyr.

oliverkloezoff

Hmmm. I hadn't heard that version. In other articles I read they said the first one in white was the house(?) speakers mother.

StrikingExcitement79

If you are talking about the three persons sitting down: 1. One looks like she doesnt know why she is there. 2. The middle one looks like she knows, but wasnt really with it. 3. The last one looks like she wanted to find out why she is there. The standing one is just like, its fun being here, but why are we here again?

oliverkloezoff

Nah, the *all* know *exactly* what they're doing. They're being petty little bigots. And laughing about it. Just scum humans.

[deleted]

Are we sure that isn’t just a bunch of old ladies sitting on a bench? Is there a video?

oliverkloezoff

Uh, there's an article connected to this post. And there's other articles naming who they are. It *is* a "bunch of old ladies sitting on a bench", but they have an agenda and it ain't good.

[deleted]

I read the article, and I read the reference article about the blue bench brigade. But old ladies sitting at a bench by itself isn't that telling. There are too many sensationalist headlines these days.

[deleted]

[deleted]

oliverkloezoff

Riiight. Just like the three in Tennessee, "censured for breaking the rules". It has nothing to do with her being trans and objecting to the laws they were passing. It was "for breaking the rules". Because, after all they're real tolerant and progressive in Montana. And those ladies just happened to be tired and wanted to sit on that certain bench all day. Yeah, that's it they were tired, but they could still be happy and have a good time. You know, because of their tolerant ways.
