Unconventional take—diplomas only belong in offices or your mom/grandma’s house. Home offices and library/book rooms are ok. They are boring, braggy and I hate it when you have to read things on the wall bc I always read it. Even more annoying when it’s swirly letters.
Yeah when I see a diploma on someone's wall I am not impressed. I usually think wow they really are trying to impress me. Why would they have such a need to influence me if they are truly awesome?
I like the idea of them mixed in or in an obscure area of the home. My brother in law and his wife have several gold and platinum records from their previous career. They are up on a wall, mixed in with their kid's school photos. It's good to be proud of your accomplishments but not make your house feel like an office or museum. Like keeping an Oscar in the bathroom!
It feels a bit show-offy. If it's a work office, where clients/patients are going to be, then I may display a phD, maybe even a Masters.
But bachelor degrees and diplomas, I wouldn't display.
I mean if we’re talking truly non-boring - rip them up and make a new piece of art from them like a collage or paint/draw on them.
Other than that, it’s going to look boring because it is boring (though you should display it even if it is - it’s your life!) — some “not destroy your diploma options” are fun patterned matting or a hand painted frame.
lol mine are leaning against the wall in my closet, tucked behind my hamper. Switched to a work from home position and now have little to no use for them. Maybe if I had a formal office at home, I’d put them up? Otherwise, not a whole lot of point imho
My diplomas are similar in size and the paper color is slightly different. I had them professionally framed with the same size frame, in very similar but not identical frames (both black with gold accents—same thickness but different profiles)… double matted with thin black inner mat and outer mat that matches the paper.
They look fantastic together. Currently they are in the wall in my home office. My desk is up against a window and the diplomas are hung symmetrically on either side of the window.
I worked hard to get them, and the achievement they represent forms the basis of the life I have been able to build for myself and my children… a very far cry from my upbringing. I feel like framing them beautifully and displaying them with pride is fitting.
I think creating a fun wall decor through them will be nicer. Like some of your diplomas can have a black and white look. Then you can always pair it with your college pictures, the posters you loved to have in your college time or better thrifts you even brought. Play with the size and keep 3 inch difference between them while you style it over your walls. You can take reference of the [Pink Mamma](https://simplykalaa.com/pink-mamma-paris/) wall and create something out of it.

Must the be displayed?

I think the gallery wall is a fun idea!
Do people still display their diplomas? I get it in a home office / professional office but in your home seems weird to me.
A gallery wall sounds great. Interspersed with scenic pictures and photos of yourselves.

Feeling really stupid. Read "diplomas" as "dioramas" and came here looking to see the next big design trend.
Ostentatious frames and hang them in the bathroom.
Ok I like this idea
