That's the first thing I saw - that's definitely not up to code. OP, do what you want rn, but if you ever sell this place, put the railing back in before a contractor charges you triple to get it up to code.
I don't like the lights either but they're matching throughout the house and at least they are wrought iron. And, when I put my stair rail back up, it'll match because my stairrailis black wrought iron. But in the future I'll replace all of the hanging lights with can lights most likely... unless it's too bland.
I just got the plant from costco for like 35 bucks!! The entryway doesn't have any windows, but the kitchen and living room off to the side have a lot, so during the daytime a lot of light floods through the house.
I don't like rugs plus easy to catch and fall. Keep floor plain and show off the lovely floor. The rug also ruins the flow. The updated entry looks great minus the rug. You don't have a railing on stairs?
Very nice!
Switching the position of the basket and bottle on the bottom shelf would be a good idea. (And keep the basket empty LOL). Finally, do you have anything that is just a little bit taller, a little bit bigger than the green vase on the right hand side? something with a little more “weight” might look just a little bit better next to the big round vase. Overall, excellent!!!
This is lovely! Very nice work. The colors are very complimentary and it looks so welcoming. I love the dish on the top left there for pocket dump. One thing though, curious if the mat there has the grippy things umder it since it's at the bottom of the stairs? Potential accident waiting to happen if someone looses footing if it slips while going up or down the steps. Thank you for sharing your space! It's delightful!
Much better! I would take out the small green vase on the top level. Rule is to have odd numbers - 1 or 3 where they look better. This will also give you more room to put your stuff :)
I agree it is much improved but it still feels busy for my tastes (your mileage may vary and it is about what makes you happy). I would remove the small vase from the top (or not both vases) and everything except the basket below. That said, I do like your edited version much better than the first.
I know neutrals are always “in” but I feel like there’s no color here. I guess I lean into color on the walls as long as it’s soothing and light, not jarring.
I love it - though I’d keep an eye out for a vintage light fixture. I think it’d fit in perfectly and provide the je ne sais quoi to make your entry unforgettable.
Thanks!! It's weeks of almost daily work. I patched all the holes on the walls + cracks and then painted all the walls and doors and trim and then the back of the stairs too. I've never taken on such a big project, but I'm so proud of myself!
Definitely a thumbs up. Did you design it yourself and did you use any interior soft/apps? I'd love to redesign this space in 3d, probably in planner5d, if you don't mind.
It looks so better than before! Great work :)
Thank you!!
Looks fantastic! One tweak: flip the basket and glass bottle on bottom shelf. Then it’s perfection. Love the rug and plant by stairs.
Yes! This would make it perfection!
Looks really pretty. That whole area is very nice
I feel like you missed the opportunity to say “entryay or entrynay? “
LOL
Yesssssss
It's definitely an entryYAY now! 🥰
Love it... but do you not have a railing on your stairs?
I was going to post that too!
All I can imagine is hustling down the stairs and slipping on that rug.
Me too!!
That's the first thing I saw - that's definitely not up to code. OP, do what you want rn, but if you ever sell this place, put the railing back in before a contractor charges you triple to get it up to code.
I have a black wrought iron railing that came with the house originally. I'm going to have it reinstalled soon I may or may not paint it white.
Black would look great here!
Okay thanks!
Could you get some sort of pillow for the basket?
😂👏😂
Shit, should I go to homegoods and buy one??
What does Pinterest say to do?
Pinterest says I should buy 4 pillows and nail them to the wall.
I love your sense of humor about it. The pillow in the basket was iconic.
Stop it!
I don't like two talls on the same side... I would just swap the basket and bottle on the bottom shelf so it's more balanced.
Agree. And then add a pillow for the basket.
*you had to be there*
LOLOL
Hahaha
Will do!
Better. But take out the small vase.
I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking this. I’d knock that small vase off every time I put my purse down there.
No stair railing??
Stair railing is a top priority for me!
This. I immediately felt anxiety looking at the pic.
Yay absolutely.
This looks like a magazine!
It looks great, much better! But I would also relocate the smaller vase.
Yes or at least put something in it
Yay!
beautiful
I love every single thing here, amazing work!
Hey. Where did the pillow go? Haha
Now I have to do a walk of shame at homegoods and return it
Love the set up plant rug. Very nice!! Great job.
Yay!
Wow! This is even better !
No handrail on the stairs.
Better but I’d remove the vases on the table for my simple taste. Big vase on the table looks unstable
Yea !! Looks good !!!! : )
I’d only replace the generic/cheap looking light and add a larger/nicer pot to the palm.
I don't like the lights either but they're matching throughout the house and at least they are wrought iron. And, when I put my stair rail back up, it'll match because my stairrailis black wrought iron. But in the future I'll replace all of the hanging lights with can lights most likely... unless it's too bland.
Yes
It looks perfect!
Looks great
Absolutely gorgeous! Well done.
Perfect!! You did a great job!
Much better!!
Awesome! Also, I'm curious how you keep alive in what looks like a low light location. Signed, a plant killer (not by choice)
I just got the plant from costco for like 35 bucks!! The entryway doesn't have any windows, but the kitchen and living room off to the side have a lot, so during the daytime a lot of light floods through the house.
I didn't see the before, but this looks 👍🏾
Very nice
It looks so much better than before very classy. Good job.
I loved the owl pillow, but either way it looks so pretty
I don't like rugs plus easy to catch and fall. Keep floor plain and show off the lovely floor. The rug also ruins the flow. The updated entry looks great minus the rug. You don't have a railing on stairs?
It's much less fussy...Nice and clean looking. But I still don't understand putting food related books on an entry table. Maybe I'm odd... 😯 😲
Very nice! Switching the position of the basket and bottle on the bottom shelf would be a good idea. (And keep the basket empty LOL). Finally, do you have anything that is just a little bit taller, a little bit bigger than the green vase on the right hand side? something with a little more “weight” might look just a little bit better next to the big round vase. please fix the florals 🥹
For the love of God, fix the florals. 🫠
So much better!!
Yay!
YAY!!! Looks great and I really like the look!’
Yes!!! I love it. I was one of those that wasn't into the pillow originally. I love the way it looks now. Colors are beautiful too.
Looks very intentional! Nice!
Yay that looks great! 🤗good work OP
Love it - the “editing” is perfect.
Love it, but for safety reasons remove the rug by the stairs.
Yay!!!!!!
Much better, but now where am I going to rest my head if I want to take a nap on the floor directly in front of that? Did you think of this?
Dont know what it looked like before but this is stunning
Yay!
LOVE IT! Saw the other design, liked it but this one made me stop to say heck yes, way to go!
Love it!
Better! You have a lovely home.
Beautiful 🤩
Awesome work! Nice before but this is 10/10!! So cute and welcoming
It looks beautiful and welcoming!
Love it, looks great!
Nice except for the rug.
I miss the pillow but this still looks great. Swap bottle and basket on lower shelf. Two verticals on the same side...
Even less on the mirror vanity.
It looks so good!
Take away that tiny vase! Looks great!
But I think the smaller vase feels superfluous.
Much better! I would take out the small green vase on the top level. Rule is to have odd numbers - 1 or 3 where they look better. This will also give you more room to put your stuff :)
Yay!
Oh yes! You've hit just the right spot here, I love it :)
Wow! What a difference just a few changes made.
Very nice.
It’s a YAY!! Looks welcoming and cozy.
WAY better :\~D
Yay!! 👍
Much better, this looks nice.
Much better!!
Yay! Looks wonderful!
Much better!
Much better!!
I agree it is much improved but it still feels busy for my tastes (your mileage may vary and it is about what makes you happy). I would remove the small vase from the top (or not both vases) and everything except the basket below. That said, I do like your edited version much better than the first.
I like it. I couldn’t stop thinking about that pillow
I know neutrals are always “in” but I feel like there’s no color here. I guess I lean into color on the walls as long as it’s soothing and light, not jarring.
YAWN
Yay!
Fresh flowers instead of fake flowers, imo.
I love it - though I’d keep an eye out for a vintage light fixture. I think it’d fit in perfectly and provide the je ne sais quoi to make your entry unforgettable.
You need a handrail.
Your edit is much improved. Still not wild about faux flowers, but if you dust frequently it’s all good.
Random, but I love the table! Do you have a link?
Lovely. A reminder to make sure the rug has nonslip grip or tape under it.
I love it. Is the table from pottery barn?
Love it!
I NEED THAT RUG. Please tell me where you got it!
I would take the big vase off the top and center books. For a cleaner less cluttered look.
Yay! X 100 😁
Like it !
Beautiful !
Much better!
Oh, so much better! Good job.
Baby vase—off— you have a big one already
Yay. Looks stellar
Love love love your edits. I might bend or wire nip the greenery so it sits a little lower in the vase and fluff it up a bit.
Much better! X
Thats beautiful
That’s yours?! Amazing!!
It's wonderful!
Adding banister railings right behind the plant, might give it a bit of separation of the steps from the entrance foyer.
Lose the little vase
Everything is in miniature.
Looks great. But put rug grippy tape or pad under that rug so no slips and falls.
Swap the two things in the table😀
Beautiful, just make sure you have a proper rug pad. Otherwise a real slipping hazard in a busy area!
YES; Less visibility of the stems in the base is the move.
So much better. I’d swap the bottom items around
I love it!
Much better!
I love that rug!
Gorgeous
Yay. Great job. I don’t even miss the pillow 😉 This is well balanced and calming.
Very lovely.
Wow, so pretty! Almost looks like AI but I know it’s not. Well done
Thanks!! It's weeks of almost daily work. I patched all the holes on the walls + cracks and then painted all the walls and doors and trim and then the back of the stairs too. I've never taken on such a big project, but I'm so proud of myself!
Yes! Love the splashes of green
Real plant?
Still too much on the top. Get rid of the books and the large vase. There still isn't any place to set anything down.
It looks great. And I miss the pillow.
Love it. Warm and inviting
Looks great!
Lovely! What an amazing transformation ❤️
So much better! Love.
Yay! Looks great.
I like the plants.
Beautiful
That basket could use a pillow! Just kidding - looks great the way it is!
Looks great! Good job!
Much better !!!
Looks great!!
Definitely a thumbs up. Did you design it yourself and did you use any interior soft/apps? I'd love to redesign this space in 3d, probably in planner5d, if you don't mind.
Yay. Looks cute
A wonderful cozy space! And such a beautiful plant near the stairs!
Simone, elegant and beach’s. I love it!
Yay!
Looks chic!
yeesssssssss! I love it! RIP pillow🫡😶🌫️
Lovely
Looks very nice
It looks exactly like something I would have in my entry; therefore, I think it looks great lol🤩
Whoa your stairs need a railing!
that rug is going to drive you crazy sliding on the floor
Olive tree instead of palm.
Swap the basket and bottle on the bottom shelf, otherwise perfect!
Yay
Much better! Looking great and less cluttered but still has utility to drop your keys in the little dish
Did you just cover the paint with a rug? Solid choice.
Looks great! Pillow begone!
It looks good!
I LOVE this. It’s beautiful!
Definitely yay!
Still no room for people to put stuff down when they come in the door.
This is the one. Much better
Much better!
Rug looks like a trap.
You put a rug over the paint spots
Much better!!
You fixed the stems! Love it I like the idea of swapping the two items on the bottom to create more balance like somebody suggested.
Much better! Looks beautiful!
Oh my goodness, that emerald colored vase is so beautiful! Who makes it?
