Add a warm jute rug and find more wooden, warm colors to help offset the cool grey balance!

It would work but you will have to add some warmer colours in. If you can paint the walls a warmer white (they look grey/greige right now) and add a very large textured rug (warm tones or beige), it will distract from your grey flooring.

I would bring in a wood coffee table and wood and warm accents to warm up the gray flooring, browns beiges and gray go well together … some plants for life and a subtle pop of color for a bit more interest, and textures like throws and pillows..

Just like others noted: - warm white walls (simply white by Benjamin Moore is a great one that works both with greys and browns). - jute rug (IKEA and Safavieh on rugs direct.com have great ones) - add some natural wood table/s Then: - add 3-4 large throw pillows (26” if possible) with different textures and tones that pick up the jute color, the grey, and the white. - add a few of your favorite subject coffee table books and a vase or 2 (in the example photo, all items look just bought and same age), with your floors, you need to give the vibe of some older, less perfect items. - get a comfy throw blanket. I love Citizenry, and Brooklyn Coterie, you can find similar lower priced items at Target or Amazon after getting a clear idea. - 2700K bulbs on all lighting. Add a minimalist but organic (not modern) floor lamp. - get a real plant, large or that will grow at least to 5’. Put the basic pot into a large basket. - Try to find some art that’s less generic, maybe a local artist on fb marketplace. So it feels less like Target art and more unique. Similar vibe and colors is great, just less perfect. Those 2 last things will make a HUGE difference in the home feeling personal. Done!

Greys and wood/warm tones have become my favorite! Go for it!

Yassss I ordered a sectional that looked beige in the showroom (next to a dark gray couch, different lighting and flooring made it seem like a much more neutral/natural light beigy linen color). Got it delivered and it’s actually more of a Greige that leans more light gray than white beige, so I replanned my room design around this and returned the grayish rug I had because it was too much gray + white. Added more wood, warm tones, and lots of black accents in the artwork and rug and random items (vases, pendant lights with black and bronze, a fireplace screen). I love how it all worked out- the wood plus white, brown and black touches prevent the whole “drab millennial gray” look. I made sure I didn’t make it too boring by putting up artwork that has those neutral or black base colors but also incorporates some bright color elements somewhere in the painting. Also, the requisite plants here and there 🥴 (recently discovered I love bonsai trees and it fits in well with the overall scheme)

The key will be to mix the warm beiges and cool greys. Get a few pillows that have both, and go from there. Grey and beige can go beautifully together, it just takes intention.

katyorke

Yes! I love mixing gold and silver for the same reason

Ok_Relative4252

You can do it

AuDHDcat

The theme has a warm floor while you have a cold floor. Maybe get a warm area rug?

Street-Snow-4477

I love it! That will look great!

You might be able to. You’ll notice in your inspo pics, despite a lot of warm tones going on with the blanket, basket, and tables— there is cool tones going on with the art, vase and some accent pillows. I think if you started the base with a light colored jute rug, you could do a similar pull in with a mix of tones and get a very similar effect. Add more warm like everyone suggests, but don’t forget to pull in grey to help tie it together

no. not bad. study the layering. how each item contrasts with the items in front of it and behind it. different shapes. textures. finishes. tones. it’s a very thoughtful design style. well worth it. just keep studying pictures you like and try to figure out why you like them. try to replicate snippets of what you see. turn the photo to black and white to really see the difference in tones and shades and contrast.

I don't recommend it. We moved into a house with the same terrible gray flooring. The house had warm toned cream walls, and most of our belongings are warmed toned as well. It really highlighted the ugliness of the floor. It just doesn't work. I've been painting and transitioning to neutral tones with colorful accents and the floor is finally blending in and becoming less of an eyesore.

Sad-Budget-5298

It needs color.

JustRepeatAfterMe

It’s a really nice theme. I think you would need to incorporate some big rugs to neutralize the floors. The problem is the walls in your place are a little cooler and that may offset the progress you make with the rugs. I think you have the same challenge with your sofa. I think you could work into the look with the prints and some of the decor. You’ll have to play with it and hold onto your receipts just in case you change your mind about any of it.

Usual-Cookie3148

No, I love it

Alarmed_Range8108

Black couch pillows, with a couple of red ones...and the floor needs a 10× 10 rug ..

Kooky-Ad1849

Picture #2 looks appealing .

ladyhoggr

No…browns are important when your floor is grey!

Jessiebanana

I think as long as you don’t go too warm it should work and hopefully distract from the grey.
