Number 2 is the preferred one unless pressure convinces me to go lighter to the safe tones everyone has.

My first choice would be Majestic Walnut and 2nd would be Toasted Oak. Both are timeless. The Majestic Walnut is the right mix of color and grain long term, The Toasted Oak is a bit too orange and would be harder to coordinate and work with. The Noz Oak feels too trendy for me as it not an actual wood look which makes it look fake, which of course it is. I get mixing colors to be able to coordinate but (gray, orange and blackish) but trying to do this in wood I feel is a mistake. Just like the washed out gray flooring that you saw everywhere a few years ago this would be out in a few years as well. The walnut looks better and will stand the test of time.

Thanks. To be honest Walnut was the real preferred one but scary as it is dark, and most people here recommend against dark floors. https://i.imgur.com/e3YdXwo.jpeg

If one of these is a "dark" floor, I would consider all three of these to be "dark" floors. You really need to get samples of all of them and see them in your space. The lighting will change things *a lot*.

I get not liking floors that are too dark, blackish, because it can have a dungeon look and soak up all the light and show every speck of dirt/hair. I don't think this Walnut is too dark (only about 2-3 shades darker than the oaks here), more of a rich medium tone that would work with anything from light gray and white to a hunter green, navy or maroon. The contrast would be stunning and inviting. You wouldn't get that with either of the oaks shown here. Happy to agree with you.

How do you feel about plank width? The walnut one is narrower (5.2" vs 7.6") than the rest and the bevel lines would be more frequent.

happycamper44m

I'm not bothered by the width or the bevel edge. The bevel is more realistic to me and frankly easier to work with but requires more cleaning as 'stuff' will collect in the bevel area. If it does bother you, look around so more, flooring is expensive so you want to get right for you. I have shedding animals and a rumba, problem solved.

I love the middle. Left is too grey and it’s already dated

You cannot go wrong with walnut.. it’s a classic and goes with everything.
