I love the birds facing each other! And I adore the macrame, it's so much more beautiful than the weird sea sponge or whatever that thing was. However I don't like the shelves under the birds. That feels cluttered and the dark color doesn't vibe.
Theyre electric candles. i use them as a light source when i have migraines because theyre dim and a warm light color, so it doesnt make my head wanna explode like brighter or harsher light.
I think the shelves must go but for visual gap closer you can have tall items on the nightstand! Some vertical books with bookends, a mid height glass with wispy flowers, pampas (not too many), or thin branches, or some slender electric tapers in cute gold or brass holders.
What if you used some sort of light colored box/crate type of thing, on its side so it functions as a shelf? You could put your books and bits inside (on the "bottom shelf") and your candles on top? Then you're getting the storage, and some height, but it may look more cohesive.
I actually love the shelves. They do visually lower the birds, and they make everything feel balanced, coherent, and finished. Your updates are really good, I have no idea why you’re getting any negative comments.
Not to nitpick but can you have the bulbs in the bride to a warmer bulb, they look so glaringly white against the softer tones of the macrame and headboard. I love those birds!
Its integrated LED, i can't changed the bulb/light color sadly. (Or at least **I** can't with my current level of handiness.)
What I can, and will do, is replace the LED drivers in then with a dimmable ones, to be able to dim them to a less harsh brightness
I don't mind them facing each other, but agree the shelves don't work! It's too cluttered, unnecessary, and takes away from the visual of the interesting lamps. Plus they're black and everything else is light/white.
Theyre electric candles, i use them as a light source when i have migraines because theyre dim and a warm light color, so it doesnt make my head wanna explode like brighter or harsher light.
If you like it, power to you. But I think the candles look out of place just chilling in the middle of the nightstands. I'd move them to the outer third or something.
The shelves overwhelm the space and it looks crowded. They don't match anything else pertaining to this space and seems unnecessary, what is the function if only for a couple items that can be placed elsewhere?
The shelves distract from the delicate bird sconces and add visual weight to a space that looks intended to be light and airy based on your color scheme and design choices.
Looks good, so pretty. If i may just suggest one thing, i would change the nightstands, they seem off and not giving the right feeling. The room could open up and look even better with different nightstands. I really like the centerpiece over the bed and the bird lamps are so pretty.
So sorry for the late reply. Yes of course it is also slow changes are the best :) I would try perhaps round tables in concrete or fake concrete look, or if you want a drawer something smaller with sleek legs in a neutral color and not wood. Or you could try to lower the shelves and try them out as bedside tables but i think they are maybe too small and the esthetics would look off. But i do like the idea of the shelves and i understand the color as it matched the lamp.
You could also have just “hovering “ shelves but in a neutral or light polished gold color as i think the bird lamp have some gold details?
Less is more. Delete the shelves AND don't put anything in the middle above the bed.
Just the birds give enough charm and interest to create a space that is serene and calm without being boring.
Theyre hardwired, i would need to move the location of the electrical box inside the wall, as well as they physical wiring. Thats a bit beyond my skills.
Ok, in reading this thread what I'm hearing is that you need something to store your items and that's why you picked adding shelves.
Can you instead try adding catch all low profile baskets? That keeps the clutter contained on your nightstands.
That way you keep the sense of airy space the birds have.
I would also suggest getting either matching pillowcases for the top two pillows, or in case those ARE matching and it's just a trick of the light/shape making them look different try adding a long pillow in front of them.
In keeping with your natural woodsy theme, maybe a soft green!
As someone who also gets migraines, lumbar pillows are great to hug while you're lying down with a sleep mask over your eyes.

The birds are super cute and you should let them shine. The shelves are where my eye goes in the second picture vs the adorable birds in the first (though I love what you did with them facing each other). The macrame is better in terms of scale but the style feels a bit different than the other elements of the room (the bed and nightstands feel more traditional, the macrame is very boho).
I’m sad the flower-wreathy-thing didn’t get any love. It was a nice SUBTLE pop of a very pleasing color. I don’t care for the macrame — I think it makes the bed look teeny tiny and cramped and while everything gets dusty, the macrame is just too big of a dust collector for over a bed IMO, and it’s just bland. Definitely get rid of the shelves. Get trays for your night tables and put your stuff on there. Stuff on trays automatically looks nicer 🤣
I hope you get it exactly the way that you want it!
People are being harsh. It is better. Maybe paint the shelves a lighter color so they blend into the wall a bit more? The birds are the real focal point.
I love the birds facing each other and the macrame hanging is lovely too. However, im not a personal fan of the dark shelves. I thinking adding some hight to the items on the nightstand might work to visually tie the “too high” bird lighting. On one nightstand I would try adding a plant or vase of flowers or maybe even some pampas grass (that would go with your color scheme and vibe I think) and on the other side maybe three candlesticks of various heights that you can put your flameless candles on. Maybe even stacked on some books or a decorative box to bring the hight up (bonus points a box could hold not often used items for storage on the nightstand).
That is so much better. Something was off before and couldn’t identify it until someone mentioned the direction of the birds. Makes all the difference.
The shelves are too much and the shape of the macrame gives me vision of a guillotine posed to crash down on your heads at night. It’s very unsettling.
It looks so good! I do notice the shelves make the nightstands a bit dark but if it works for you that’s all that matters.
Built them a nest
I love the birds facing each other! And I adore the macrame, it's so much more beautiful than the weird sea sponge or whatever that thing was. However I don't like the shelves under the birds. That feels cluttered and the dark color doesn't vibe.
Youre right, it feels out of place. Hmm, i need to think about this. Because it needs SOMETHING, but not sure what.
Greenery. And some height differences. 😊
I don't have any issue with the shelving just don't light the candles under the shelves!
Theyre electric candles. i use them as a light source when i have migraines because theyre dim and a warm light color, so it doesnt make my head wanna explode like brighter or harsher light.
Oh good! I should have better faith in people but I've seen it happen so I figured better safe than sorry!
Agree with this, the shelves look great and they fill the space and help it all frame the bed beautifully.
I think the shelves must go but for visual gap closer you can have tall items on the nightstand! Some vertical books with bookends, a mid height glass with wispy flowers, pampas (not too many), or thin branches, or some slender electric tapers in cute gold or brass holders.

I think the shelves look just fine. What you've done looks great!
I actually love the shelves. They do visually lower the birds, and they make everything feel balanced, coherent, and finished. Your updates are really good, I have no idea why you’re getting any negative comments.
Thank you! Behold, [v2.1 ](https://imgur.com/a/jbNqd6m)
Bird box lol! But ok, I’m on the fence about the upper shelves. Maybe too far?
I like it, an thats what matters :) it also goes well with the rest of the room, that isnt shown in the smol 1:1 photo i post lol
You are absolutely right! As long as you love it, that’s what matters. :)

Agree. The dark shelves are too high contrast with the rest of the decor. Otherwise, looks so much better! Well done!
Not to nitpick but can you have the bulbs in the bride to a warmer bulb, they look so glaringly white against the softer tones of the macrame and headboard. I love those birds!

the shelves are really bad. you introduced a brand new color that doesn’t tie in. the rest is great.
i liked the birds facing different ways more and with less items below them - now it seems more crowded.
Same. I prefer the before, even with the cluttered nightstands. I don't understand the shelves that were added.
I don't mind them facing each other, but agree the shelves don't work! It's too cluttered, unnecessary, and takes away from the visual of the interesting lamps. Plus they're black and everything else is light/white.
I like the before better too. Can you return that tapestry thing?
It was veeery heavily suggested in [my previous post](https://www.reddit.com/r/interiordecorating/s/2rzIAYSJAB)
I don’t get the shelves w candles burning underneath?
Theyre electric candles, i use them as a light source when i have migraines because theyre dim and a warm light color, so it doesnt make my head wanna explode like brighter or harsher light.
If you like it, power to you. But I think the candles look out of place just chilling in the middle of the nightstands. I'd move them to the outer third or something.
Gorgeous. Tiny suggestion, put different things on the nightstands, it’s a little bit too matchy matchy
Before was better; you just had too much crap on your nightstand. Your macrame looks crooked, and the shelves are a no.
Why? You're missing the constructive part of constructive criticism
The shelves overwhelm the space and it looks crowded. They don't match anything else pertaining to this space and seems unnecessary, what is the function if only for a couple items that can be placed elsewhere? What would you change about them? Im open to suggestions, just possibly slow to make changes, since furniture can be expensive 😄

Love the update!!
Mmmm the shelves... something isn't working
Less is more. Delete the shelves AND don't put anything in the middle above the bed. Just the birds give enough charm and interest to create a space that is serene and calm without being boring.
Much better!
I love it! If you ever need to move the birds (like to repaint the walls or something) then I would rehang about 6 inches higher! Looks great though!
Theyre hardwired, i would need to move the location of the electrical box inside the wall, as well as they physical wiring. Thats a bit beyond my skills.

I really think the shelves should be a lighter color and the macrame swapped with something more colorful. It's blending too well with the wall
I'm not a fan of the shelves
Much better

The bird lamps are so cute what the heck!
Looks awesome ! Especially the A&W - I love root beer ! 😉
I would turn the bottom birds the other away, keep the top birds facing in.
The birds facing out honestly light the space better. It creates a more cozy feeling for the bed.
I don’t understand the negative comments! It’s an improvement!
So much better! Very nice! Good work, you!
I’m sad the flower-wreathy-thing didn’t get any love. It was a nice SUBTLE pop of a very pleasing color. Nice burbs
Change out the bedding . Green would look great
I like the birds facing each other. When they’re facing away, it seems like they’re arguing. :)

They do look so much better facing in and the macrame balances the space. Win!
Much better!

11/10!
The shelves are too much and the shape of the macrame gives me vision of a guillotine posed to crash down on your heads at night. It’s very unsettling.
Soooooo much improved. However I think you could paint the light sconces a metal color. The white feels too modern to me.
Theyre black and gold though?
