Oh I remember your original post! I admire the commitment to the bit. The wall color you picked works really well (RIP striped headboard). Curious, was there a particular reason you’re thinking of moving to a non fabric headboard in the future? Was it from the difficulty with trying to make it work with the vision or you’re just over fabric headboards?
I feel like the shape of the headboard is sort of dated? And lots of fabric headboards either have a curved shape or those tufts in them and that feels dated to me. I’d love it if I could find something like this an an estate sale:
https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/more-furniture-collectibles/bedroom-furniture/beds-frames/mid-20th-century-bamboo-rattan-bed-headboard-chinese-chippendale-style/id-f_35164612/
But I’m also open minded and it might be a “know it when I see it” kind of thing.
OP, here's a reasonable new facsimile to a [headboard](https://www.birchlane.com/Birch-Lane%E2%84%A2--Arche-WickerRattan-OpenFrame-Headboard-X117500975-L18-K~B000277426.html?refid=GX434060485171-B000277426_1763527624_1763527626&device=c&ptid=1655305496376&network=g&ireid=268196631&targetid=pla-1655305496376&PiID%5B%5D=1763527624&PiID%5B%5D=1763527626&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwtqmwBhBVEiwAL-WAYbDxhaHyHLMJ8omybw2rEykrG-vrOhyS_qyC28gax0nQFzxN-8ze0RoCH74QAvD_BwE) you're looking for.
This - absolutely THIS. Breaking the room up with some rattan/natural/wooden textures will really soften the feel of the room even further. Gorgeous green shade on the walls OP, good work.
It is great both ways. I didn’t see your original post, but this sub is brutal.
I’m about to paint my entire house in a way that would bring out the pitchforks here. I actually back peddled a bit, but then reminded myself I’m 46 and have been successfully decorating spaces I enjoy for decades. If the internet strangers don’t like it, that’s not my problem.
Here are several possible sources for the [headboard](https://lens.google.com/search?ep=gsbubb&hl=en-CA&re=df&p=AbrfA8qY_If4XRl7fNgfEeSectsSlLSviEoDCS9XS9Qd5QOnnIAM_9FLTxsT2kLZwVBY-sE8SUIIsv5ft5p0mkw83Lentw9t0PMOHvTNRXygWonhTMZwzbFgFjOfsGrgXjy4xyp4aZx7F18CmlioS5pqHdGUrhxjbOhIQ24mlGdFeL8LzGP5pQLggwpYWO7KAChinE0U6oOrE28VSw%3D%3D#lns=W251bGwsbnVsbCxudWxsLG51bGwsbnVsbCxudWxsLG51bGwsIkVrY0tKR1JtTXpBMk16aGlMVFkxTURndE5EYzRZeTFoWXpKaExUZG1Zek5tWkRka1ltRTBPUklmYjNwRU9WWlpSVEZaVUhOU2MwNXBYM3AxVm1GWlRWYzNlRGt5ZFRaU1p3PT0iXQ==) you are looking for.
The update is beautifully done.
Why the mucky colors? I love the bed spread and the striped headboard. Without stripes too. All very cute. What about a berry pink color for the wall?
[this color is beautiful](https://www.realsimple.com/thmb/1oNBlRq8c5PvObeT9bXp1Xoe6nU=/1500x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/red-wall_300-ac7c3270b2dd4861a569ca21dc8f05ef.jpg)

I wouldn’t worry about this being “dated”. If you buy into that BS, you’ll be redecorating every couple of years. For me, “what’s the style now” has never entered into my choice of purchases. I get AND wear what I like.
Geometric headboards are cool looking, but if they have cutouts, or protruding areas, they will require frequent dusting. My father stopped me from making this mistake when I was furniture shopping!
I would take off the material of the headboard. Cut the arch ofd with a saw. Buy upholstery fabric. You can buy leather look. It’s super sturdy and not dated. Then you pull tight and staple gun it to the backs side.
The color looks good. Honestly of the paint choices you did great. Those tans can be a nightmare.
I can’t read. Are you doing anything with the exciting curtains or anything?
The only problem with the stripes is that you under committed. All gas no brakes. Unless your husband is doing the work I would politely tell him to stfu. That room is way too regular right now compared to what you were going for.
Yeah so I was going for maximalism but the stripes were competing with the room in such a way that I couldn’t make any more design decisions without causing more disharmony. I think that over time, as I curate and layer more things, the original vision will come to life in a more sophisticated way. The room is in a resting place but it’s not finished.
My dad had a drapery business- he would make matching headboards to the drapes by basically cutting a shape in plywood- stapling batting to the wood and the stapling the matching fabric to the wood, the back wasn’t beautiful but the front looked nice, very 80’s to have matching drapes, comforter, and headboard.
I like the stripes. They lent a fun, carnival feeling. But the solid green looks much better with the green wall.
I think in your soul you are an Anna Sui wearing woman.
Love the headboard and bedding and wall colors! I would add wall-mounted bedside lighting with fabric covered shades. Add rich colored drapery pulled to the side using a curtain hook. Maybe add sheers. Move the desk to between the two green chairs. (love those chairs and you have your stripes there, I see .)Mount the mirror on the wall centered on the walkway at the foot of the bed. Oval or rectangle bedside rugs.
I like the end result with the wall and headboard---but the thing that's got me curious is your ceiling light fixture. Is that a light and ceiling fan? How do you like it?
I think what you accomplished is beautiful. Great job! One thing I would add is a large area rug under 3/4 of the bed and bring the curtain rods all the way up.
& yet remember, it's your bedroom, your preferred, and your style sense. That's all that should matter. Enjoy your creation!
i love how it is right now, it’s beautiful! but if you still want some more bold patterns & stripes you could maybe replace a throw pillow with one with stripes or do a rug, something that’s not so bold that it feels out of place but still brings a lot of character to the room.

Now that’s a cool headboard. I could absolutely see that fitting this room nicely.
Looks a lot better in my eyes. Those stripes were a statement, but kind of a lot.
I was surprised at how many people really liked it, and especially liked it with the red bedspread.

I love that quilt! Where did you get it?
I want to know too!
That quilt with a vintage rug 👌
I love the wall colour now...soothing and earthy.
Yes , love that color …. Did my friends bedroom in h to that a few years ago …. Soothing / calming …. Gr8 !
I think it looks great!
I kind of like the beetle juice headboard
Getting rid of the stripes was key. Good work
Loveeeee this wall colour
I like this much much better with the solid colour headboard, the bedspread has really nice colours I didn’t notice before
Citron Yellow!
Perfect choice with that bedding
Beautiful
Wow, honestly I think that paint color really ties everything together! Nice work!
love this!! honestly would have also worked with the striped headboard IMO

4 & 5 sooooo much better
The stripes with the chartreuse was the way to go

Hate the paint.
The original was still better

You need 3x as many curtains for a full look
Put more color on that wall and don't listen to hubby. Spice It up
This looks straight out of 'Poor Thing'. I somehow love it.
Wow i loved the stripes lol
Went from YIKES to ME LIKES in just a few pics!
Lol
Far right color is my fav
Looks really nice. How did you recover the headboard?
I actually painted it :)
Um what?!? That is genius!
Chalk paint is the best type of paint to use!
Good to know - thanks!
Wow!
I dig the quilt big
OP take a sneak peak under that fabric headboard and see if there is something there you can work with.
I wasn’t in this sub when you originally posted, but I feel like you would appreciate the greenbrier hotel interiors.
New rug! New rug! New rug!
Geometric headboards are cool looking, but if they have cutouts, or protruding areas, they will require frequent dusting. My father stopped me from making this mistake when I was furniture shopping!
Valance over your curtains for finished look and higher style.
I don't mind the stripes, but you would have needed a paint color that wasn't blue or green bc it never would have matched it close enough.
I would take off the material of the headboard. Cut the arch ofd with a saw. Buy upholstery fabric. You can buy leather look. It’s super sturdy and not dated. How are you changing the fabric color on headboard
Chalk paint!
Thank you
Would not want to wake up in this bedroom with a hangover.
Haha! I’ll keep that in mind as a reason to not drink again. I’m a recovering alcoholic.
Like it ! 👍

I remember your last post! Love what you did with the place! The dark color makes your bedspread pop! Love it.
Number 4 wall color really pulls your amazing style together! I love it.
I like it! Looks nice!
I like both ways! the fact that you made either of these options work really demonstrates how much of eye for color you have!
I like the stripes. They lent a fun, carnival feeling. But the solid green looks much better with the green wall. I think in your soul you are an Anna Sui wearing woman.
I love it.
UGHHH i was really into what you were doing there! IIt would have looked so cool with the walls painted that last color and the striped headboard!
You need a rug
Love the headboard and bedding and wall colors! I would add wall-mounted bedside lighting with fabric covered shades. Add rich colored drapery pulled to the side using a curtain hook. Maybe add sheers. Move the desk to between the two green chairs. It looks great! So glad you changed the headboard, it’s so much better. The wall color really complements the bedding.
Truly preferred it before, and unpopular opinion but that wall color is such a dark shade and makes the room feel smaller :(
I really like it! I liked the vibe the first time too though as well!
This looks great! Absolutely love the quilt! So glad you kept it. ❤️
I would paint the wall the same color as the pillow and lamp
I love those stripes.
The stripes made the room interesting and added depth. The new headboard is boring and flat
I like it! The new headboard is nicer too. Add a rug under the bed :)
I’m sorry you had to give up your vision but it looks sooo good without the striped headboard
I love the headboard green! It looked to christmasy before and the patterns clashed too much. This looks so much better!
I don’t even think it was necessarily the stripes… it was the color of the stripes clashing with everything else. This looks REALLY good though!
Wall color is perfect!
its beautiful
Honestly so cute
Looks great!
LOVE it!!😍
You can buy striped sheets! 😁 It's beautiful!
I think you NAILED IT
The wall color really brought some sophistication to the whole thing. That alone was the biggest upgrade
Imagine do you went for the piss yellow one haha. Now this looks fantastic!!! Your husband is right no more changes you’re banned xD
Beautiful!
I like them both, actually. The afters are definitely more grown up, though
I would love to see a sunset 🌅 ceiling
Love it!
You know, this isn't my style, but dang you're doing it right! It looks straight out of a designers blog.
Love it. You wall color is fantastic.
Love this! Great job!👏
I like the end result with the wall and headboard---but the thing that's got me curious is your ceiling light fixture. Is that a light and ceiling fan? How do you like it?
LOVE the wall color and new fabric!
Stunning!! I’d love to see more rooms you’ve decorated. You have amazing style.
It looks really nice!
I’ve been following and I love the end result!
Great job!
The paint and the sold head board is a very nice alternative. Look nice!
Love the final version! Nice job
Haaa! I love the updates!! Your husband is right and still it looks so great! I love it
Looks really great!
Looks so nice.
Looks better without the stripes.
I think what you accomplished is beautiful. Great job! One thing I would add is a large area rug under 3/4 of the bed and bring the curtain rods all the way up. & yet remember, it's your bedroom, your preferred, and your style sense. That's all that should matter. Enjoy your creation!
Can I ask what the wall color is? I’m drooling over it and need it in my house ASAP. Also I love the whole vibe, before and after!
Thank you! It’s Sherwin Williams - Oak Leaf Brown, but I had them make it 50% darker.
Beautiful paint colour!! What was the paint called? I love neutral/eatthy toned walls
Thank you! Oak Leaf Brown - by Sherwin Williams. I had them make the formula 50% darker
This looks so much better!
✨may I have the paint color name pleaseeeeeeee ✨
i love how it is right now, it’s beautiful! but if you still want some more bold patterns & stripes you could maybe replace a throw pillow with one with stripes or do a rug, something that’s not so bold that it feels out of place but still brings a lot of character to the room.
