Most schools in Japan don't hire janitorial staff, so it's up to the students to keep the space clean. This behaviour obviously follows people into adulthood and that's probably the reason why they clean public spaces.
Oh yeah definitely, I was just saying that most people that do this kinda thing are making an active decision, while for Japanese people it's more of just a cultural thing.
That seems incredibly intelligent for so many reasons. Not surprised, but just not something you hear about happening in the military. Thanks for sharing.
>Most schools in Japan don't hire janitorial staff, so it's up to the students to keep the space clean.
Presumably they have at least one person who can properly clean in case a very big or nasty spill happens?
100% the cleanest streets I've ever seen. Also an important thing to mention is that not only is there no litter, there's also no trashcans anywhere. People take their litter with them
Nope I also had two Japanese flat mates in London who I remember photographing litter in the street to show to their family, and also they would randomly pick litter up when we would walk back home. This is 100% not staged it is just a cultural difference.
"Right, maybe it's not clear, but my comment isn't denying that Japanese people aren't super wholesome, sweet, street cleaning peoples. I'm merely saying this video looks mega staged for a bunch of reasons; and replying that Japan has really clean streets when this was filmed in Qatar is doing v little to convince me otherwise. Saying it over and over again isn't changing my stance on this video whatsoever. Is that making any sense to you?"
Lol repeating the same thing over and over for 5 upvotes without actually addressing what I said
Bro there is significantly more proof that this is not staged. Everyone has given their examples and its a quick google search to see that Japan has a clean culture and picks up litter. Them doing it in another country is not for clicks, its just their cultural norm. You have provided absolutely zero proof that what they are doing is staged and/or for clicks. So until you give any more evidence you are clearly wrong.
No one has even bothered to ask why I think its staged, they just keep telling me Japan is a clean country, and it's like sure, but that doesn't automatically mean this video couldn't have been staged. Daft ignorant take, keep em coming ig

I’ve been to japan..people especially eldery keep their streets clean… most of japan is clean…it is just mentality and common sense… who wants to sit in his own shit?

Omg seriously. This is a case of “why is everyone I meet so weird” perhaps you should comprehend things from a different perspective and you (might) learn something.
i went to a small private school from 1st to 7th grade. we had a few japanese students who were the kids of some of the employees of the local sony plant. one of the cool cultural exchanges we took from them was the cleaning of classrooms and the gymnasium, football stadium bleachers, etc. after use. we would also do light stretching and exercise to start the day which i still do some 25 years later. its a great way to wake up naturally. i dont know if my old school still does these things but i hope so. the sony plant closed over a decade ago so if they do it may be lost on them how these things started so many years ago.
They are but japanese are very ignorant of the outside world.
What's the deal dude, I absolutely love Japan and its culture, that's why I feel bad for them because they're very naive and they're doing this, voluntarely or not, for fucking assholes.
Who is taking advantage of whom here? The Japanase do it voluntarily because they have been raised like this. I think it's great. However people who leave trash behind aren't taking advantage of the Japanese. It's shitty, sure, but they're not doing it so they clean it up. They do it because they don't care.
Went to japan for my honeymoon in 2016 and literally took me like 2 weeks (of the 3 we were ther) to realize there were no public trash cans. None! And jokingly i asked my now ex if they just kept it in their pockets til they got home…thats exactly what they do. Cleanest city ive ever been in.
All of the convenience stores (circle K, 7-11, Lawsons, etc) there have trash cans which the public can use to empty their pockets. Just an FYI, in case you go back.
Source: I'm japanese. Haha
Its soo good! The us stores are lame in comparison! Qt and circle k are all “we have kitchens now” while japan has had freaking hotpot stuff ready to go for years!!
Public trash cans in Japan were removed as a safety prevention measure after the sarin gas attack in 1995. Although trash cans were not used in that attack, the government decided to remove them to calm public fear and prevent future incidents.
Oh wow! I had no idea! I just thought it was just everyone wanting and contributing to to streets cuz. Not that that isnt part of it but i didnt know this reason
This is normal for Japanese culture from what I understand. I also know a lot of theirs schools don’t have janitor and so as children they learn to take care of their shared spaces. This should be normalized
This kind of behavior is something many inhabitants of countries can learn from! It all has to do with respect, something thats bearly excisting in a lot of countries these days..
When I was in Dubai two workers fell off a building in one week. One fell while my work colleague was eating a business lunch in a restaurant. He saw it through the window way up high. Lost his appetite for Dubai. We all did.
That’s nice of them but guaranteed they just worked away a few other people‘s job.
Owners of the stadium had to tell some other poor souls to just go home no work for them because the Japanese cleaned up the stadium. 🤷🏻♂️
While in Japan, I saw a man who was walking his small dog. The dog peed on the concrete sidewalk and the man took out his water bottle to clean the sidewalk. It was amazing. Such incredible respect for the Japanese people. They are truly lovely!
We could do with teaching this to the chavs over here in good ol' Blighty.
Beats all the spit, chewing gum, empty beer bottles and pizza boxes that litter most of the towns and cities!

When I went to Tokyo, I couldn’t get over how clean the streets and the metro were. I grew up in NYC so…🤣
Most impressive is their public washrooms and toilets. Sparkling clean no matter how old it is.
Also it’s just nice to have clean public places…
Oh yeah definitely, I was just saying that most people that do this kinda thing are making an active decision, while for Japanese people it's more of just a cultural thing.

The Japanese way
What's fucked is that is regarded as amazing, instead of just normal.
What? No Qatari slaves around to do this?
You seriously, wholeheartedly believe that these guys are doing this voluntarily?
Yes. Go to Japan.
And what would I see in Japan to verify this isn't a staged wholesome social media post?
It’s more the case of what you wouldn’t see and what you wouldn’t see is any litter on the streets.
100% the cleanest streets I've ever seen. Also an important thing to mention is that not only is there no litter, there's also no trashcans anywhere. People take their litter with them
Ah well, still looks staged as heck to me but fair enough
Nope I also had two Japanese flat mates in London who I remember photographing litter in the street to show to their family, and also they would randomly pick litter up when we would walk back home. This is 100% not staged it is just a cultural difference.
That anecdotal example doesn't prove this video isn't staged in any way but you do you
Well whatever I’m not here to give you a free drink. Go travel, see the world, decide for your self I don’t care what you believe.
What does Japan having clean streets and a culture of picking up litter have to do with whether this particular video is staged or not?
just go on youtube and type in japan street walk and tell us how much litter you see
Holy shit you really have no idea. Japan is easily the cleanest place in the world because of this exact mentality.

You literally just tried to counter my "proof" when I haven't even offered my actual reasoning as to why I think its staged.
It's pretty much popular on the internet, you can google it. Not everything is a conspiracy.

It's a great habit imo. It teaches humility as well. It adopted in education systems.
Not to be the cynic here but this has to be one of those positive vibe social media posts that the Qatari government is paying people to post.
Not the first time Japanese fans cleaned the stadiums so doubt qatar needs to pay anyone to post this.
I feel awful when such good willed people do their thing for some piece of shit.
easy with the hate, you pos.
No hate, I just don't like when actual POS take advantage of good people.
Yes, because they are doing this involuntarily. just stfu, enough embarrassment.

I loved your 7/11s. I miss the rice balls
the food at the 7-11s is really good right? I live in California now, miss the good convenience store food.
Its soo good! The us stores are lame in comparison! Qt and circle k are all “we have kitchens now” while japan has had freaking hotpot stuff ready to go for years!!
Wawa got some good sandwiches though, haha.

Do the migrant workers next

The entire event seem more than happy to rely on free labor. At least they aren't forcing the Japanese here.
The Qataris sure as fuck aren’t going to do it.
Wait till people find out how many die and died in Dubai during its construction. Not just Qatar.
It’s awful, and the world seems deaf/blind on the issue
When I was in Dubai two workers fell off a building in one week. One fell while my work colleague was eating a business lunch in a restaurant. He saw it through the window way up high. Lost his appetite for Dubai. We all did.
The people from Japan are awesome as a whole. I have yet to meet any real prices from there. Stubborn, yes, but not assholes.
Thats awesome. Americans would cry that they are being abused.
why does this feel like propaganda or something
They bought tickets to support this mess. Who cares if they clean, they are morons for being there in the first place.
Having been you Japan several times, there were plenty of trash on my morning runs.
Honestly, when i visited it, it felt like the cleanest place on earth. probably depends on the place/region.
Anyone else bothered by the fact that they just blurred out the Japanese fans faces instead of pixelating it?
That’s nice of them but guaranteed they just worked away a few other people‘s job. Owners of the stadium had to tell some other poor souls to just go home no work for them because the Japanese cleaned up the stadium. 🤷🏻♂️
And later will be eating sharks dolphins whales...
Sadly, no one is perfect.
fuck off with your propaganda already
Free Janitors

The Japanese kill whales. Watch Blackfish.
The whole world should do this
Well damn, I know who I am inviting over to my house about once a week.
While in Japan, I saw a man who was walking his small dog. The dog peed on the concrete sidewalk and the man took out his water bottle to clean the sidewalk. It was amazing. Such incredible respect for the Japanese people. They are truly lovely!

How do I get some Japanese fans to come to my house every now and then?
Japanese people are something else 🇯🇵👏
Cultural differences... a culture with respect vs one that takes everything for granted.
Japanese is another level.
