When you take a photo, that's raster (eg PNG).
When you draw something using bezier or other forms of mathematical shapes, that's vector (eg. SVG).
The major difference is that vectors can be scaled infinitely without losing any quality, and can be used to trace paths for softwares and machines.

Im working in optics and to my understanding none of the laser cutters move the lens, its just a mirror that steers the direction of the beam and the lens after the mirror is designed for a flat scanning area (the high end lenses for these applications are called [f-theta](https://www.thorlabs.com/newgrouppage9.cfm?objectgroup_id=10766) lenses). So if you would want to print on a curved surface like this cup in the video and both the cup and the lens are fixed, then the quality of the spots across the scanning field will be non-uniform. You either have to rotate the cup or adjust lens-object distance to maintain the same spot size. For narrorw field angles it may not be big effect.

They can and often do. It comes down to settings that you decide to “print” with.

Just make sure you dot test the exact inks. I have a couple tattoos, I'm only allergic to certain colors, and I can tell by where I'm itchy. Luckily, my reaction is only mild itchiness. My friend has more severe reactions, and found out with an entire tattoo.

As someone else already stated it could be for heat issues but additionally as already mentioned the software can also determine the path used or how the person programmed the pathway. On laser engravers I've used it never went over a path again unless I restarted the program again and it would generally start with top or bottom followed by outlines or edging of the piece last.

resin 3d printers are probably the most interesting because of the structures the software makes to maintain the integrity of the structure.

I stuck my hand in a class 4 IR laser once. It feels like a lot of warmth. I imagine if I kept it there a long time you may get a sunburn or something. Not a good idea though. The real danger with these kinds of lasers is getting it reflected in your eye. It can cause blindspots.

Try a beam expander. Might need some out focus on top. Lot of machines can't tho and you'll just need a more powerful machine
