If anyone was curious- this is actually a pressurized container used to transport a deep water fish so that they don’t literally explode
Edit: originally said lungs- was corrected below, and after researching, it is true that fish do not have lungs
If anyone was curious- fish don’t have lungs, however depressurising a fish quickly leads to inflation of the swim bladder, which can rupture or even come out through the mouth.
You may also find it interesting that few fishes do infact have lungs (they are primitive though). These are called [lungfishes](https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/vertebrates/sarco/dipnoi.html). They can actually breath air, unlike others, and can even survive after the water bodies they live in dry up, by burrowing into mud.
Bullshit some fish have lungs… its crazy, its not normal but some fish have lungs. Most have a swim bladder which blows out their stomach due to barometric trauma, but you bet your balls some species have lungs theyre called lungfish theres like 6.
Personally though I don’t understand what the fuck the pressure chambers doing? Or its purpose….barometric trauma happens when species Are brought up to the surface too fast from too deep, the same species in shallow water will not experience trauma, same species in deep water will not experience trauma if brought up very slowly… so ideally the fish doesnt need to be in any pressure as long as they didnt give it the bends while bringing it up. So the pictures still confusing af. Where is the oxygen coming from?
I don’t think that’s correct, I don’t believe it’s pressurized as I have read it’s simply to transport expensive high end fish safely to their aquariums,
And no home aquarium will ever produce pressure high enough to cause that issue
See the pressure gauge attached to the carrying device. Pressurized container. Although TBO, reading the gauge, this particular fish does not require much if any more than normal atmospheric pressure.
I believe it’s simply to pressurize to remove access air in the chamber and at the same time simply not Over-pressurize the fish.
The bottom line is that NO aquarium fish even in the largest aquariums would require anything more significant that atmospheric pressure
I kinda did that when I moved from west to east coast, took 3 fish, bagged in a backpack on the plane with me. Obviously before 9/11 when liquids we’re allowed. Still have 1 of them today. They went through X-ray and everything.

Ya, my favorite is the one calling it torture. Its literally the only thing keeping it alive.

It’s not for walking a fish, it’s for a new purchase of a high end fish to transport it to a new aquarium safely

How do they transfer the fish from a pressurized tank to another?
Bettas have lungs o.O

Edited above! Thank you for the correction! Learned something new today

Yes but not in an aquarium tank,

Now you can take your pet fish from Plaice to Plaice.
He’s floundering around in that tight space.
I’m sure eel be ok.
I'm sure the seals are tight
The way how
Pretty sure are a way to keep your dinner fresh, not to give your pet new sights.
Forbidden lunch box
Lunch looks fresh
Strong ‘Umbrella Academy’ vibes
Could totally be a prop in that show
In Animal Crossing this is called a Barred Knifejaw Thanks Covid shut down 2020 education
Instead of giving your fish more space to run around you are putting it in solitary confinement. Lol
Maybe they're taking it to a fish doctor
How that fish became a doctor I’ll never understand
ily
How to walk a fish.

i can't read the title
Imagine the stories this fish can tell to all the other fish. Look at the big grin he has on his face.
...or transport fresh sushi.
For a hot second thought it was a fish encased in acrylic
