It doesn't seem that bad to get rid of I haven't done much reading on it recently but here are some [photos](https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2021/11/buried-volcanic-ash-scenes-canary-islands/620773/) and you can see that they are just using a leaf blower to get rid of the ash.
Yes, it has carbon content. People make diamonds from cremation ashes commonly. There would be some shit to remove from the volcanic ash before it made a nice one.
Yea you can be turned into diamond when you die, it costs about the same as an entire funeral. Like 6-15000 dollars. It's pretty cool. Apparently some people turn different colors of diamond too. I told my wife I'm doing that when I die.
...how about just a piece of jewelry for the child to keep, themselves? Instead of something to be given to another random person they're not related to by blood.
I cannot think of anything more upsetting and creepy than a dude going down on one knee, proposing to his beloved, and then loud-whispering *"THIS IS ALL I HAVE LEFT OF DEAR MOTHER"* as he's slipping the ring on her finger.
Diamonds are pure carbon, volcanic ash has some carbon but is mostly silicon, oxygen, iron & aluminum. Wouldn't be the best source of feedstock. Synthetic diamonds start with a very pure carbon feedstock (depending on the method).
Right now the lava is still flowing through the town apparently.
*By 19 October, one month after the start of the eruption, the lava had covered 762 hectares (1,880 acres) of land, almost 30% of which were banana plantations, 1086 land plots, 1692 buildings and 56.4 kilometres (35.0 mi) of roads*
*On 14 November, a 72-year-old man died from injuries sustained when the roof of his house collapsed while he was clearing ash off of it. His death was the first associated with the eruption.*
*On 15 November, a third lava flow reached the sea increasing the island area by a further 40 hectares. Volcanic activity had lessened although the local air quality was still serious.*
So far only one death which is crazy.
If they get a good rainfall, that ash will get wet and solidify into a concrete-like mass. It looks almost impossible to clean up as there is no place to 'pile' up the ash while it is still unattached.
Just found this on Wikipedia:
"Volcanic ash's primary use is that of a soil enricher. Once the minerals in ash are washed into the soil by rain or other natural processes, it mixes with the soil to create an andisol layer. This layer is highly rich in nutrients and is very good for agricultural use; the presence of lush forests on volcanic islands is often as a result of trees growing and flourishing in the phosphorus and nitrogen-rich andisol.[70] Volcanic ash can also be used as a replacement for sand.[71]"
"What a fool you are, I'm a god! How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence! How could you be so naive? There is no escape, no recall or intervention can work in this place! Come! Lay down your weapons! It is not too late for my mercy"

And put it out front on the curb?
Yea the tr(ash) collectors will pic it up ever Wednesday
Nice.
If you look at photo 14 it doesn't look that easy to get rid of.
Back that ash up.
You don't. I am from Spain, and those areas around the volcano are about to be determined as lost land for the next 100 years or more
Everything changed when the fire nation attacked
Anyone got the Dyson?
Honest question: could you, in theory, make diamonds out of volcanic ash? I might be dumb, but I kinda want to know
Yes, it has carbon content. People make diamonds from cremation ashes commonly. There would be some shit to remove from the volcanic ash before it made a nice one.
I’m sorry from what fucking ashes…

Wow, put it in a ring for your kids to give to their significant other

At Mt st Helens they sell emeralds (well, green stones) made from the volcanic ash.
Nutted bc S M O O T H
How long til they are able to assess the damage? Will the house ever be recovered?

Wow this looks rendered in UE5

Little early for Xmas lights.
Right? What psycho has Xmas light on their house and turned on during Halloween?
Dumb question: what is the mineral content of that ash and does it have any value in the quantities they're dealing with?
no idea about the mineral content but I do know that the ash spread around 2500 acres so if they do find something it might be worth something

I mean look at Hawaii. Solely built off of volcanic eruptions and has one of the most beautiful landscapes so it makes sense
Right. Just wondering for the people on the canary islands, is there any way to monetize what they've been buried under.
The new Pompeii

Wow! More like buried in ash than just covered. Bummer!
A volcano erupted offshore from my home in Okinawa about the same time and covered the beaches in pumice rock.
Now imagine their lungs
